Excellent orthopedist. Takes her time explaining.

I would highly recommend Dr. McRae for Achilles Surgery and care.

Every person I encountered was pleasant, cheerful, helpful. Questions answered fully, options reviewed with me.

Dr. McRae truly cares for patients and really tries to get them back to as close to new as is possible.

I had a good visit today with Dr. McRae. She listened to my concerns and laid out a path to work on solving my problem. She was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Dr McRae was very friendly and knowledgeable. She came to meet with me even though she had her own patients. She patiently explained the procedure I needed and answered all of my questions. Thank you Dr. McRae!

Dr McRae, took time to evaluate my foot. She examined it by physically manipulating its structure. Then she told me what her opinions were. What the best possible path forward would be. What test she needed to run to determine the best course of action.

I had severe injuries to my ankle. Dr. McRae accessed the problems and performed my surgery. She did an exceptional job. Dr. McRae is very knowledgeable, listens to your issues and is very professional. I would highly recommend to anyone who is in need of an Orthopedic doctor for ankle/foot injuries to see her. Dr McRae did a foot surgery for me Dec 30. I have been to her office every Friday for followups. I do this until the end of February. My referral to her was quick, easy, she told me right away i needed surgery. I knew that's what she would say with how bad my foot was. She explained to me what needed to be done. How long I would be on a scooter. Nothing was unexpected at the end of my surgery from her. I highly recommend her. If i could give 10 stars I would!! Dr McRae did a foot surgery for me Dec 30. I had bunion removal several years ago which was unsuccessful. I asked for a referral to see Dr. McRae. She is absolutely wonderful!!! She has a great bedside manner, is very friendly and explains the procedure you need in detail. I had fusion of my big toe. She explained the joint capsule was in poor condition and fusion was my best option. I'm over 2 weeks post op and have seen Dr. McRae 4 times now with another appt scheduled in December. I have no idea why anyone would even consider giving her less than a 5 star review. She and her staff have called me after the surgery between appointments to see how I'm doing. I do have some swelling which is expected but I can tell the bunion is gone and my foot looks great. She is a great surgeon, super intelligent and very kind. You can tell she truly cares about her patients. She is blunt and to the point but I find I prefer that in any doctor. I'd give her 10 stars if I could. 37 days post op with no issues whatsoever. Dr. McRae is a wonderful, caring surgeon. She is to the point and doesn't embellish anything. I was concerned about having the surgery so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas. She said I would do great and I am. She and the other surgeons at Watauga Orthopedics are THE BEST you can possibly see. I just don't understand any negative reviews regarding Dr. McRae. She is very matter of fact and to the point. I think that is an asset. She doesn't sugar coat anything just gives you the facts. What more could you want? She is a wonderful surgeon. I know my issue is finally resolved. She had to fix a problem another surgeon didn't properly fix. Having been through a similar procedure before, I feel I can say she is a wonderful surgeon!

Follow up visit after mri..she simply read off the finding sheet.which didnt answer why i was in pain.. She didnt want to answer any questions..and shot out the door while blowing me off..then a nurse came in..told me i could leave? No follow up needed? It took over two weeks of unanswered phone calls before I got a response. Dr. McCrae had to review my records to find if I was a worthy of her care. Overall, this was a painfull experience. If I could have rated this zero I would have.

I never was able to get to see Dr. McRae. Her nurse practioner saw me and evidently determined that I didn’t need to see her. He was rude and I will never go back. I was polite and not rude at any time and was shocked at his attitude! There are wonderful doctors in this group but Dr. McRae and her nurse will never get a recommendation from me. I am glad i seen her i was nervous from the other reviews...but she is very polite and very description oriented explained all my options explained what has happened and treatments...as of now no surgey...thank you Jesus...Watauga is a awesome place and awesome doctors...they have been very paitent with me and this foot....

Dr. McRae was wonderful! She listened to me. Asked alot of questions and was extremely knowledgeable. I do not understand all of these bad reviews. She is very kind and compassionate. I almost canceled my appointment after reading all these reviews. I’m glad I didn’t.

Did not tell anything that actually helped me or explained mypain.. Then she blew me off with a lame response an rushed out door when i asked what was causing my pain? Then a nurse came in and told me i could leave? No follow up. No results ofpain management..no help...waste of time n money ...sat in exam room for 50 minutes for nothing

Dr McRea is amazing. I really don't know how to express my gratitude to her for fixing my foot that another Dr had totally messed up. She is the best orthopedic you will ever find. Thank you so much Dr McRea

I tried to make an appt with Dr. McRae for my congenital (from birth) foot/ankle problems & was told she won't see anyone unless they first see a spine specialist as she believes the majority of foot/ankle problems are spine related. She eliminates anyone who doesn't fall in that category. As far as I'm concerned this is just a racket to bring in more money making a patient with a known foot/ankle history see another doctor before her. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone!

I have the complaint of not getting a bill in the mail then I get a phone call telling me that I am in collections because my bill hasn't been paid. The lady who called me was very rude and unprofessionial. Dr McRae came in and spent a total of 2-3 minutes with me and she just told me what was wrong and really didn't go into detail about anything.
