She's so nice, and very informed. She was very receptive to my preferences, and didn't force any meds or changes on my child!

My son last visit with her is when she got mad at him for not wanting to be vaccinated and she found out his uncle was in ICU for covid and literally said expect him to die if he's not vaccinated. Little did she know he was vaccinated and did die. Although she apologized once she saw him distressed it's something we can never forgive her for.

We were extremely satisfied with our follow up appointment and the time that was given in having our questions and concerns answered.

Dr. Keough has the all traits you want in a Neurologist. She’s crazy smart. She has the biggest heart and she can actually communicate. It’s such an amazing experience feel heard when you describe your child’s symptoms and to feel like someone really cares. So many doctors are as intelligent as Dr.Keough but they can’t explain complicated medical issues to a layperson. She breaks stuff down for me and also gives us a clear plan for treatment. Every time I walk out feeling hopeful instead of confused. I also have to say that the staff is so kind and that everyone I’ve spoken to on the phone has been incredibly helpful! Dr Keough was amazing to say the least! She was very knowledgeable, compassionate and very caring. She put it in a way to make me understand what might be going on with my little one.

Dr Keough is so helpful, patient, & really listens to patients! We were so thankful she was able to see us when our normal neurologist was unable to. She really calmed our fears in an emergency, can’t recommend her enough and we hope to see her again under happier circumstances someday!

Dr. Keough has been with my son since 2008. She is an amazing doctor and person. I believe that she had a hand in saving my sons ( @ShakenBabySurvivorAnthony ) life after his TBI and for the last 11 years. She is a blessing to my son and our family. She brings quality back to life for us.

I have been going to Dr. Keough since I was young she has always done right by me, helping me with my condition.

Dr Keough is an awesome person and also great doctor to work with. She is very open and transparent with my child's conditions. She is ready to try new medications and very easy to reach out whenever needed. Our child has made a good progress under her treatment. I strongly recommend her for numerology needs

Best specialist we could ask for! After searching throughout the Texas Medical Center and out-of state, we were referred to Dr. Keough. She has done an exceptional job finding the exact combination of medications and treatments. She takes time to know her patients, too. Highest recommendation!

The level of care and ability to take on Melissa’s case and recommend a course of action was impressive. Dr Karen explained things clearly and used her words nicely to explain the problem, process and expectations.

Excellent doctor for my son’s epilepsy! She changed his treatment and we are finally getting better control over seizures! She has an honest and hopeful attitude and is great at informing me of options. She also helps me to be involved in the decision making. So glad we got referred to her.

So grateful for Dr. Keough. She has guided us through epilepsy surgery on our daughter and its been a game changer. We're even weaning off her meds. What a blessing to have such a world class epileptologist in Austin.

We have been with Dr Keough for many years now. She is a wonderful Dr who genuinely listens to and cares for all her patients. When we go to see her it’s almost like visiting with an old friend.

My 3yr old daughter was seeing Dr. Cardon since she was 1 but he recently moved out of state so we switched over to Dr. Keough. Immediately after switching over, she was on top of my daughters treatment. She is very professional, kind and knows alot about my daughters type of epilepsy. She and her staff are very friendly.

We absolutely loved our experience with Child Neurology Consultants of Austin and Dr. Keough. We were referred here from Dell Children's and were able to get an appointment right away. The staff and nurses were all very friendly, and ensured that we understood everything that was happening with our son as they ran some tests. We had a second appointment later that same day to review results with Dr. Keough. There was a bit of an issue with the appointment overlapping with our son's nap schedule, so they let us into a patient room early so we could dim the lights and try to squeeze a nap in. They also had great toys and books available for him to play with. Once we met with Dr. Keough, she was incredibly patient and understanding. She let us ask all of our questions, provided thorough responses, and took her time with us in the room. She made sure that we understood what the results showed, as well as what they didn't. Nothing ever felt rushed, and it was clear that she really cared for our son as well as us. I hope that we do not ever have to come back, but if we do I know we will be in great hands. Now, nearly 4 years later, she continues to stand by our family's side and advocate for our daughter. I've learned Dr. Keough is very progressive and open to exploring all options for the betterment of her patients...despite the possibility of having to refer you outside her care. She is always open to listening to our concerns and it feels that she is always pushing to produce the best outcome and quality of life. I've recommended her to friends who have special needs kids with complicated neurological issues. Glad to have her in our corner. Dr Keough covers every possible need and possible treatments for our daughter and lets us be part of the solutions. She attacks problems head-on and the goal is to give our child the best quality of life possible as we try to eliminate her seizures.

Dr. Keough has been my daughter’s neurologist for years and is one of the smartest and caring doctors I know.

Very pleased with my experience at CNCA! We've seen a dozen neurologists over the past 9 years from Austin to San Antonio to Baltimore, due to the complexity of my child's needs. Out of all the specialists we've seen, Dr. Keough stands out as an exceptional physician who truly cares for her patients and takes the time to listen carefully and individualize care. Under her care, I feel empowered as a caretaker of a child with special needs; I feel supported; I feel confident about placing my child's care in her hands. Dr. Keough treats her patients with utmost care. My only regret is that it took us 9 years to find our way to her, but we are so thankful to now call her OUR doctor.

Dr. Keough has very poor bedside manner, makes poor medication choices, makes choices that caused our child harm. Definitely Do Not recommend her as an epileptologist.

Horrible service from Dr Keough and Staff. Staff is quite rude and ignores patients needs as does Dr Keough . She gives harmful meds and doesn't keep her word. DO NOT GO TO DR. KAREN KEOUGH. She is harmful to your children and parents alike.

Very condescending bedside manner. Came across as extremely judgmental.

Dr Keough and nurse Patty have been wonderful, caring, responsive. We had previously been at Scott & White for many years with no results and we found what we urgently needed with Dr Keough.

If you have a loved one, being treated by this doctor, don't expect a response from the doctor or her staff even in the most dire of circumstances. It's sad and frustrating dealing with this medical staff.
