Mom went to Dr. Patel as new patient today due to multiple rather scary symptoms. Covid precautions taken, office staff both courteous and professional. Dr. Patel was kind, thorough, gave detailed explanations, and ordered appropriate follow up care. It was also important to us that he is a board certified physician. Not all patients realize what it takes to be a health caregiver, especially in such an intense specialty and during an escalating pandemic. I am grateful to Dr. Patel and his team. I had an 11am Appt this morning. I arrived at 10:50 to be sure I was checked in on time and the nurse took me back at 11:05 for temp and blood pressure. I then waited till 11:45 before I left. That's ridiculous... if you schedule an appointment you should stick to it. There were only 2 patients at the office... myself and another older woman. The staff isn't the problem... they're really good. it's the Dr. This isn't the first time I've been left for over 20 minutes sitting in an exam room at this practice. I won't be returning.

Not great. Met him after ER visit and admitted to South Bay. Never introduced himself. Came into my room and just started talking about nothing related to me. I had to ask him who he was! Following extensive tests, I asked him results and he said he really wasn't sure what had happened. He was very dismissive. Not overly concerned. Looking for someone else to review my records.

Staff was very rude, they tried to collect a copay when no copay was due, the doctor told me there was nothing she could do for me, the office didn't return my history/MRI CD's & reports. The office didn't advise me that they had my paperwork or that they would move it without my permission to another location. I went back to the office the next day and my info was somewhere else. I requested that it be sent back to me because I am disabled and couldn't get another ride there, but I was refused. I was told that it wasn't their responsibility and they don't have mail service. I was told I could pick it up or their office manager would call me. I never received the call and when I called her, she hung up on me. Is there a rating less than 1 because they deserve it! The front office ladies were nice & I had ease of scheduling an appointment. Dr. Patel spent about 10 minutes with me. He did not answer my questions-he just say there and I had to talk. He never responded. I was less than impressed with him. I would not recommend this Dr. to anyone as he is just plain strange. Barely spoke to me. Ordered an MRI of my brain & was out the door. Don’t waste your time seeing this Dr.

Unprofessional and no bedside manners. Displays non concerned. Did my EEG under another patient name. Assured me it had been corrected and they were my results. Never apologized, after telling him I'd lost trust in him professionally, before I could say I won't be back, he suggested I find another neurologist. No respect for him at all. Would never recommend him to any one looking for neurologist.

I was sent to Dr. Patel by my Family Doctor because I could not move my left ankle or foot. Upon an exam by Dr. Patel I was diagnosed with Drop Foot. Following his advice for physical therapy, a brace and an eventual nerve test I am now able to move my foot again. Thank you Dr. Patel for your steadfast care. I'm dancing again.... ; )

After finishing PT for a S-I separation, I wanted to find out what was causing hip and thigh pain and weakness. My PT suggested seeing a neurologist to check on unresolved thigh weakness. From the moment I walked in the examination room, Dr. Patel answered everything I said with “it’s Parkinson’s”, which I knew it was not. I went for testing-and it was not Parkinson’s -big surprise. When I went back for my test results, he decided I had a large head and fluid on the brain. He told me to return in 6 months and, if I had the same symptoms, he would drill holes in my skull and drain the fluid. Worst MD ever ! Bottom line -I have sciatica. My experience today was absolutely terrible. When the nurse practitioner entered the room she didn’t even introduce herself. I saw more of the back of her head than anything because she immediately sat down and said “why are you here?”. She even GOOGLED MY ILLNESS in front of me, it was clear she had no idea what I had. I have already been diagnosed and have been to quite a few neurologists throughout the years trying to find the right fit. My biggest piece of advice is to stay away from this place, save your time and money. My experience today was absolutely terrible. I have no interest in trashing the people in the office, but Dr. Patel and his PA were just not good doctors. I'm taking non-maintenance drugs that could be hazardous to my health to continue taking long-term so more importantly, I need to find out what's wrong with me and I need a careful review of my medical case. I didn't get that here. They spent less than 4 minutes with me and couldn't have reviewed my case/symptoms that much since I was a brand new patient and they saw me before i even finished my paperwork. The wait wasn't bad, but the care sucked. I don't suffer from migraines, yet they put me on migraine medication and my symptoms of so atypical of migraines... i mean, not at all like a migraine. Who am I to argue with someone with more medical knowledge than me? I wasted $50 on meds that do nothing for me. And another $30 copay for the visit. what's the point? If I could leave a negative one I would. This was by far the most awful doctors office I have EVER been to. Just all around BAD. Save your time and money and go else where. I waited for almost two hours, with no apology. From the moment I walked in the atmosphere and service was horrible. The lady at front desk (blonde hair lady) was just all around rude and seems to miserable at what she does. As soon as a patient left she and another employee begin chatting about the patient. The office has a lot of elderly patients and she treated them as if they were worthless and annoying. BAD ALL AROUND! I’m disgusted and will NEVER EVER go back. I visited this office for the first time last week. We recieved some very bad news. The doctor spent probably longer than he had allotted with me as he answered some of the questions I could get out in this moment of shock. He was compassionate, and honest and truthful. I realize that the many inconveniences suffered by patients daily as their appointments aren't on time, or the front desk struggles to keep up with the workload are valid concerns, however, on might stop and ask themselves for a moment, why MIGHT the doctor be late? It just might be because he has spent the last forty minutes in a room with someone after telling them their loved one has an incurable, terminal disease. Your insurance is paying him pennies on the dollar, and has the expectation that each visit should last less than 10 minutes. In this case, instead of delivering the news and rushing out because someone else was waiting, he stayed, and answered questions. Being a doctor is hard, and the insurance companies make it almost impossible to practice medicine these days. Dr Patel was kind, and a professional, and empathetic. I'll wait an hour for that any time. Thank you also to the staff who have multiple times gone above and beyond to find available appointments, answer my questions, and promptly fax medical records to specialists. We found Dr. Patel to be thorough in his assessment of my husbands concerns and tested him completely. But most importantly we found Dr. Patel to be a very good listener and to give my husband the personal attention he needed to express himself and his concerns about his health. We would be very comfortable recommending him to others in our community.

After 9 months he believes my sudden incontinence, heat prostration, white spots on my brain MRI, and optic neuritis are caused by migraines. No one answered my questions, explained tests, or told me what to expect. He told me he entered this practice so he could shock people with the CNS test. He said I don't appear to have MS but is sending me to the USF clinic of MS. I will be getting a second opinion and a new neurologist

Staff is extremely rude. Dr. Patel wanted to put me on a pregnancy category X medication. When I told him my husband and I were trying to get pregnant, he told me I didn't need more children and he actually sent the med to the pharmacy. I took a pregnancy test before taking the drug. Dr. Patel was the first (of 3 Neurologists) to seriously investigate my adverse reactions to an anti -seizure drug prescribed by other doctors over a period of 7 years. As a result of his recommendations my life is markedly changed. I am completely free of debilitating drug effects, and my overall health and physical stamina has never been better. I am grateful to Dr. Patel for having the knowledge and experience to properly assess my situation.

1. I waited 3 weeks to get an appt and was never sent patient paperwork to fill out online-so it was all done at his office. 2. After filling out the paperwork Dr Patel never once picked up my chart and looked at it. 3. I spent 1 hr past my appt before I was seen by the Dr Patel and he spent 5 minutes with me. 4. Dr Patel walked out of the room and left my chart just laying there with ALL my information on it in the room we were in. I retrieved it when I went back to get my coffee cup. REALLY???
