Jung T Dao

Dr Doa is a very good and caring dr. He put lens in my eyes 20 yrs ago. I ended up having 20/20 vision!! Still going strong!! I would have needed glasses so thick my nose would not hold them up. I could not see far away worth a crap His staff is great also.

I am a nurse, and Dr. Jung Dao performed a corneal transplant on my "adopted" son at age 10-1/2. For the next 16 years, this cornea has given my son hope, and allowed him to lead an independent life. This is the only eye he has. Every time I have taken him to other eye doctors, they view Dr. Dao's handiwork through the microscope and compliment his technical skills. Nothing in life is guaranteed, and corneal transplants can and do fail. As in our case, my son will need another corneal surgery after so many years, and we wouldn't think twice about the confidence we have in Dr. Dao performing this second corneal surgery. Dr. Dao is reserved, so don't expect chit-chat or to have your ego stroked. You're there for his technical expertise, and he's there to take care of you, or your loved one's eyes. Extremely rude and condescending would not let me speak or answer my questions I when in for a follow up after eye injury per a urgent care Dr. First time patient. My dog scratched my eye with his nail underneath the lid and I Have growths on my eye and something like an ulcer on the sclera never found out what it was. He said he couldn't understand me, he wouldn't let me speak. He did say I needed glasses which I already have but are bothered by my eye condition when wearing them. That's probably why I keep telling the optometrist my glasses prescription isn't right. I have more going on then just dry eye.

Dr. Dao has the personality of a box! Also, after the surgery, he told me that the eye was doing wonderful, however, a week later, I saw my general eye doctor, and he said that the surgery failed! Had my cataracts on my eyes removed by Dr Dao. He did a wonderful job, acted in a professional manner, answered all my questions completely. Staff also worked with me in a professional, courteous manner, I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family. Evaristo Perez, Phoenix AZ.

Dr. Dao is amazing!!! I had eye pain for several months. Two times I had gone to an optometrist and twice to an opthmologist who weren't able to help me. Within a minutes Dr. Dao knew what my eye problem was and fixed it! He knows so much! I am so grateful to him!

As someone else wrote, we have too long a story to communicate here, but suffice it to say that we have found another ophthamologist. However, one aspect of what we view as his questionable skills is that my spouse experienced a diminishment of vision and severe eye pain and Dr. Dao, after an exam, prescribed an ointment that didn't help after two weeks. We then went to an optometrist who noticed about 35 eyelashes growing into my spouse's eye and plucked them, while also prescribing an OTC spray. Problem solved in about one week. How is it that Dr. Dao did not see or did see and did not pluck these eyelashes that were clearly irritating the eye - a question that is especially important given that my spouse had a history with both the practice and Dr. Dao???? The optometrist wanted to know the same. We think that Dr. Dao would make a better researcher than someone dealing with patients, as we question his skills.

SENT ME IMMEDIATELY TO RETINA SPECIALIST. RETINA SPECIALIST FELT CONFIDENT HE WOULD BE ABLE TO RESTORE MY VISION. 2/26/2019 SECOND SURGERY, RETINA SPECIALIST REMOVED "BROWN MATTER" FROM EYE. COULD SEE COLORS, BUT NO ACTUAL VISION. 3/26/2019 THIRD SURGERY, RETINA SPECIALIST PLACED A NEW LENS. Unprofessional. He has attitude toward his patient. Long wait past scheduled appointment time. He won’t listen to patient question or answer it. Rushed in and out after long wait outside. He has no respect to his patient at all and he has attitude to elderly patient even walk away from you. Zero star!

This was a pre surgery visit. I found his staff polite and helpful. Dr. Dao was kind, listened to my questions and explained possible outcomes. I can only speak good of Dr Dao, his assistant and office staff.

Terribly unprofessional and downright bizarre behavior. The Dr. did a sub par surgery followed by increasingly incompetent care. Under no circumstances use this Dr. for even the smallest surgery.

I had the complete displeasure of having an appointment with Jung Dao on Thursday, 2/8/18. I have had many Dr appointments, but I have never been treated so rudely as I was by Dao. When he told me that I would need surgery and that I would be awake during it, I made an anxious noise... "ahhh!" and he became annoyed with my anxiety. He, said, "aaaah, ;what?! There will be an anesthesiologist there, we are not like those dentists that administer anesthesia, we have anesthesiologists so there is no need to have anxiety." At this point, I kept thinking that his bedside manner was awful, but maybe it will improve. Nope. He just became more rude. I asked him if they would be using a laser or doing it by hand, as I had seen that there is a laser out that makes an incision more precisely than a surgeon can. He again became annoyed at this and said that they have a state of the art facility and equipment and that it was all done by hand. I work for a hospital and had forgotten that my name badge was on, and he stated that, "they would never do a procedure at my hospital because we don't have the proper equipment." Very odd and egotistical. He then told me that I do not have diabetic eyes, but that I have diabetic cataracts. I said, "that sounds conflicting." He cocked his head to one side and said, "Nooo!" Kind of like a teenager, the only thing missing was the eye roll, though I may not have been looking at him when he did it. I told him that I am not a doctor and could he please explain that to me. He then, with great annoyance, got out a large eye that shows the parts of the eye, most of which were missing, and began to, condescendingly, explain what he was telling me. Well, I had mentally checked out at that point and did not hear what this egomaniac was telling me. This pretty much concluded our appointment, all I had left to do was book the surgery. I met with a very nice lady, Kim, who did her best to herd me into the Spectra facility, which Dao has a financial interest in, and she had my first surgery booked for 2/19/18. Kim was very sweet, but she sent the consent form, that she checked twice to make sure she had, home with me and called me twice on my drive home to talk to me. This treacherous ride home, with my eyes dilated, with cataracts, at around 6 pm when the sun is the most brutal, heading west, was the absolute most dangerous drive I have ever driven. Kim forgot to give me sunglasses. I called the next day to cancel the surgeries, as I would never put my healthcare in the hands of someone who has forgotten the Golden Rule. Kim acted as if this behavior from Dao was new and something she's never heard of. However, later when I logged on to leave this review, I found that I am not the only one who feels this way. My advice is to stay away from this doctor. I am glad I do not have to have any further contact with this man. I am cross-posting this on Yelp. Stay away from Dr. Dao. This guy has no manners, very rude. Dismissed all my concerns, he said everything that was bothering my eye was "normal". Did not let me talk, actually kept interrupting me. I went to another Eye Doctor, turns out I needed surgery for my eye. When he said, what i was complaining about was "normal". Save your time and money. Skip him. Stay away from Dr. Dao. I've been seeing Dr. Dao for 5 or 6 years now. He is professional and caring, I would recommend him to anyone.

I have been seeing Dr. Dao for a number of years now. He has done quite a few surgeries on my eyes. I was legally blind in left eye and my right eye was taken out by Dr. Dao. He did surgery on my left eye and not only restored my vision but it was even better than before! Dr.Dao has always been a very caring, compassionate and professional doctor! I would recommend him to all my family and friends! I have even told people I didn't know about Dr. Dao when were talking about my eyes! Dr.Dao is only human and so is his staff. So maybe they weren't having the greatest day when you went to your appointment. All I know is that I will keep going to Dr. Dao until I am no longer here on Earth! He is the best doctor ever and his staff are great too! I am a night person and his staff goes out of their way to make sure they give me an afternoon appointment because I am still asleep in the early morning hours. They have always been so good to me! He is very rude and condescending. Does not answer questions in detail. Talking poorly about his peer (other Dr). Speaks to his patients with no respect, and like he is better then them. I let him know he was being very rude and disrespectful. Which then he cut off the exam, told us we were being rude and told me to get out of his office. Horrible person, and very Unprofessional!!!!!

My experience with Dr. Dao was absolutely terrifying. I had my cataract surgery done in December on my left eye, and it was ok. On the second eye, the anesthesiologist forgot to give me the relaxing sleep shot and I went into surgery wide awake. The last 3-5 minutes were painful because the anesthesia wore off. I reported it to the office. In subsequent visits, he was rude, dismissive, did not listen or acknowledge concerns about right eye which did not come out well. I will be switching doctors

I wish I had read these reviews before wasting my time with Dr. Dao. As others mentioned, he was very dismissive, and acted annoyed that I was asking so many questions. He actually got up to walk out of the exam room and I stopped him with another question. When it became apparent that I wasn't done, he finally sat down again (for a minute or two). He didn't answer my questions to my satisfaction, but got up again, said he'd see me in two weeks and walked out of the exam room. Now, it was ~noon, so maybe he needed lunch... The experience (two visits) with Dr. Dao was as bad as it can get. If it would do any good, I would send a full report to the Medical Board, but I understand they are all just covering each other's butts over there. This doctor should be the VERY LAST one you would ever go to. In record time, he misdiagnosed AND declared me "healed" with a cornea that was so bad (according to three other eye docs within a week) that I need a corneal transplant, and that is very bad. Dr. Kao (not Dao) just stitched together my upper and lower lids in a last ditch effort to let the eye heal itself. Dr. Kao says I have a neurotropic condition (means nerves have died ~ you have no pain). According to Dr. Kao, the meaures taken by Dr. Dao could not, and were not, effective. Dr. Dao even declared me "healed" and released me. How can a doc be so wrong? I'll tell you how...the office rushes patients in and out like cattle on a racetrack, double book, and do not even have any water available in the standing room only lobby. My husband is a welder, and his eyes were burning and getting swollen so he went to concentra for help. After going twice, they gave him a referral to Dr. Jung T Dao. Firat of all, the receptionist, was extremely rude over the phone. He had called my husband, but refused that there was a referral. Finally after being put on hold for 20 minutes, figured it out and came back to make an appointment for 2 WEEKS out! That is all he had.... So when my husband went to his appointment, Dr Jung T Dao was just as rude! Acted snobby and told my husband he couldnt "go back in time" to find out what was wrong 2 weeks ago.... Then he just told him he had nothing on the surface and they were ok. Then he waited for my husband to just walk out without telling him the appointment was over. My husband's eyes are still burning! Truely cannot beleive how horribly I was treated by Doctor Dao at cornea consultants of AZ. I went in to be checked on an emergency I was having. He gave me absolutely no information before telling me he must scrap my cornea and it needed to happen right then and there. I'm terrified of doctors and terrified of problems with my eye because I have reoccuring corneal erosion and it is severe pain a few times a year. He then told me I thought you were a tough girl. I don't even know where he came..

In an accident on Dec. 22, 2016, my wife suffered a right eye Ruptured Globe, her cornea 85% severed, and a 90 degree rotated intraocular lens. The I-17 North Honor Health Sonoran Emergency Center ER doctor called Dr. Dao. He confirmed to us in written orders that Dr. Dao agreed to meet us at his office on Bell Road for immediate required emergency followup. Dr. Dao was in a meeting and would not-did not treat my wife's emergency. He personally told us to leave his office without exam!

I was referred to Dr. Dao by the ER. He saw me the same day even though his waiting room was FULL of patients the day before a holiday. He even apologized for being 30 minutes late to the appointment! Then he told me he could solve my problem but, if I were his sister, he would suggest that I see a different specialist instead. His practice arranged the appointment for me. I truly appreciate that level of candor about his professional limitations.

Doctor and staff are petty, unprofessional, and rude. Dr. Dao and his colleague, in the same office, are the only ones in town who do cornea transplants on children, and they know it. When viewed in that light, this office is the medical equivalent of the Motor Vehicle Department--they're the only game in town, and they just don't care about the patients. Dr. Dao seemed lIke he only had 5 mins alotted for my consultation. I told him my vision in my right eye was blurry and he responded stating that I have 20/20 vision. its obvious I have 2 scars on my cornia directly over my pupil. It's surprising how he is so dismissive. I guess in the end it's about pushing as much patients through for a bigger paycheck. Dr. Dao seemed lIke he only had 5 mins alotted for my consultation.
