Juan L. Rodriguez-Ramos

I have known this doctor for several years. He has helped me through lifelong allergy afflictions to a stage where I will shortly no longer need monthly serum injections. He also advises me on Asthma and other breathing difficulties. Easy to talk to and quick to respond to my emails.

Dr. Rodriguez-Ramos was the first one available for appointment. Although I read the reviews here, I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and went ahead to see him. His PA was compassionate, good at listening, and politely asked me to sit on the examination table; once she left, here came this haughty doctor who ordered me to come down from the table and sit on one of the two chairs so he could be further away from me. While I was sitting on one of the chairs in the tiny examination room, and he was standing looking down at me the whole time. It was very weird since I have never had this type of doctor-patient encounter. What's worse is he didn't seem to be genuinely interested in providing care. I feel like I wasted my $$$ and my precious time. If you are reading this review, turn away and find another doctor. Save your time and money.

AWFUL. Literally the worst doctor's appointment I've ever had. I thought my appointment was at 7:45 am and right at 7:30 am I realized it was at 7:30. I live around the corner from ARC so rushed there with soaking wet hair, obviously had make a mistake but was doing my best to rectify it. Wound up being less than 15 minutes late and got a nasty lecture from the front desk staff who said that I would have to wait and see if the doctor could squeeze me in. Ridiculous when I've sat at that clinic before waiting over an HOUR for my PCP to see me. When I did see Dr. RR he had zero bedside manner and almost seemed annoyed bc I had been late. Anytime I mentioned a symptom (e.g., hives - a clear allergy symptom), he disregarded it. In the case of hives, he said, so what, everyone gets hives? He prescribed me Flonase and said if I wanted allergy testing, I could come get it, but he didn't recommend it because it's expensive....but "if I see your name on my schedule, I'll know why you're here." It was a waste of time and money. Even if he couldn't diagnose an issue, he could have been kind. And then he had the audacity to bill me for a Level 4 exam. Because one of my parents is a physician, I'm familiar with billing practices, and this is an incredibly sketchy one. Level 4 exam requires the following: full medical history (including past, social, and family - I can assure you that didn't happen), full physical exam (the physical exam must cover at least 18 bullets from at least nine systems or body areas - the man looking in my ears and nose and listened to my lungs), and medical decision making of moderate complexity (I guess prescribing an OTC medicine is complex?!). So 15 useless minutes in which I was made to feel bad for even showing up cost me over $300!! And don't get me started on what happened when I tried to talk to the billing department and better understand why I was being charged that. I was given so many reasons, none of which made sense, including that's what they charged all new patients seeing specialists. Funny because I saw a different specialist there two weeks later and was charged for a Level 3 exam. So clearly that isn't the case. ****DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.**** This is my first online review ever, so clearly I feel pretty strongly about warning others away. Visit occurred in late January, waited to post until billing issues were resolved (it looks like they reduced the fee to $200, but didn't notify me, just noticed one day when checking my online portal). Went ahead and paid it to be done with this.

I scheduled an appt with Dr. Ramos who was available earlier than my usual allergists. Big mistake - he saw me for a very few minutes - then said he'd phone in a prescription at a pharmacy he confirmed I use. No prescription phoned in - checked again today after 24 hours - nothing. Big Mistake

I transferred into Texas from another state where I had been seeing an allergy specialist. It's hard for me to find the words to state how terrible this guys is. It was astounding. If he knows what he is doing, it didn't show. Save your time and go elsewhere.
