Dr. Cox and her nurse were both so professional and kind. I worry about being treated well at the doctor because I am fat and so sometimes people in general, doctors and nurses included, don’t treat me with the same gentleness and kindness as they do other people. Dr. Cox listened to me and took my concerns seriously. She took time to explain options to me and during the exam she kept me informed about what she was doing (which I feel always helps me relax a bit). She ordered all the necessary tests instead of just blaming everything on my weight and although “losing weight” was mentioned it wasn’t the only possible solution mentioned. As someone who has weight cycled for the past 17 years who is now trying to embrace HAES and learn how to take care of my body in a holistic and kind way versus trying to beat it into submission or starve myself thin, doctors offices can be very scary. I was so pleasantly surprised and relieved after my appointment I literally cried. Dr. Cox and her nurse were both so professional and kind. I worry about being treated well at the doctor because I am fat and so sometimes people in general, doctors and nurses included, don’t treat me with the same gentleness and kindness as they do other people. Dr. Cox is excellent. I’ve know many physicians since I worked in the medical field. She is so amazingly thorough in her explanations. Her knowledge of every aspect of my care built tremendous confidence in her abilities.

I have seen Dr. Cox for over 10 years. She is the sweetest doctor. She delivered both of my babies and both were great experiences. I highly recommend!

Joy Cox is the best ever! My wife was having a really life changing problem. After a short 20 minute surgery her problem has been completely solved. I can’t say enough good things about Joy. I have never had as much trust in a physician as I have in Dr. Cox. She’s delivered 2 of my kids and gone so far above and beyond to address any of my concerns - even calling me on a weekend. She is kind and patient and I’d recommend her to anyone.

I came to Dr. Cox through a physician’s referral. Although I live over 2 hrs. away, her office staff worked with me on appointments and contacted me when there were cancellations so I could be seen earlier. I had previously been to 4 different physicians without a concrete diagnosis. During my first visit with Dr. Cox, she diagnosed me and thoroughly explained my options. She and her staff are patient and kind. She performed my surgery and am 12 weeks out and feeling fine.

Amazing doctor! Delivered my first baby in 2010 and will delivery my second in 2018. I had a rough delivery and Dr Cox was there for me and did everything she could to save my leg and my sons life as well.

Dr Cox is a wonderful and compassionate doctor. She delivered both of Daughters. She was so calm and had amazing bed side manner. She always made me feel so much better during both pregnancies.

She's a great doctor with excellent bedside manner. BUT - only if you don't mind waiting over an hour for a scheduled appointment. I've had 3 appointments with her. First appoint wait was over 30 mins. Second was over 1 hour. Third is currently at 1 hour 45 min.... AND STILL WAITING. You may give birth in the waiting room. I've never waited so long for a doctor in my life. She's good, but not worth the wait. They bill you in advance for your delivery and then leave you waiting FOREVER.

I came to Dr. Cox for help to get off my medroxyproesterone injections of 9 years. Previously, I had unsuccessfully atrempted 2 times of "cold turkey". The uterine contractions were horrible. I told Dr. Cox my previous trouble. She had me get off the shot, wean down to pills and then a mirena for localized progesterone (nonsystemic) to finalize get off the drug. It had worked beautifully! I have weaned off almost pain free. I trust her to help me from here on out. Thank you, Dr. Cox!!!

Dr. Cox has delivered both of my children. She was very helpful and had wonderful bedside manners. She was very down to earth and made the appointments very informational and easy going. The office staff was always very welcoming and made you feel right at home and very easy to schedule with. I drive over an hour to see Dr.Cox and will continue to do so if I have any more children.

After reading a negative review on this website, I felt compelled to write my own review. I have referred dozens of patients to her over several years including my sister, and she has managed to schedule the patients into clinic in a timely fashion despite a very busy and popular practice. All my referrals have had an excellent experience. She has a great bedside manner, is compassionate in difficult situations, and is very skilled as a physician and surgeon. I recommend her highly!

I lost a baby at 23 weeks. Dr. Cox was unprofessional throughout the entire process. When I went back in for my first appointment post-loss, she did not even remember that it was a little girl. I've waited over a year to write this review because I did not want to place any unwarranted anger on her. To this day, I do not believe that anyone with any kind of complications would be in good hands under her care. She does not listen and minimizes most concerns.
