Dr. Newman is wonderful, listens, gentle, and thorough. The office staff is professional. His PA , Shannon is caring, knowledgeable . I have been seen in this office for at least 15 years and have always felt I was the only patient there.

My mom needed a new dermatologist. Dr. Newman and his team were thorough, professional, and caring with this 95 year old lady.

Dr. Newman is a gentleman who can be asked questions. His assistants and front desk staff are very helpful and supportive

Ive been coming here for almost a year now, my original dermatologist Katelyn Benjamin was an asset to this team. Unfortunately she no longer works for the team. She was amazing and made me feel comfortable with my insecurities and gave me the best advice when it comes to skincare. I couldn’t say the same about Dr. Newman, he came in ones during my routine injection for the scars I had so that it will shrink and make it less noticeable. He then started pointing my other flaws that I was not as insecure about in the first place in front of Katelyn and told her to ask me about taking some kind of medication for them in front of me as if I wasn’t in the room. A medication for acne that to me seems serious because it requires you to do a blood test before taking it. Something about how it could be bad for your liver. Mind you that my acne to me wasn’t that serious. Even Katelyn didn’t think It was necessary. Over all very disappointed with this place, even scheduling is terrible. I had an appointment at 8:30am —drove 30mins there for them to say they didn’t write me down on the book. I was okay with it and asked for the soonest they can re-schedule and they came up with 3 weeks as the soonest. Also rude front desk people (Lueanne or liane, not sure because she sounded miserable answering, very dismissive lady who transfers the call and cuts you off while still talking. Although a woman name Georgia who works in scheduling was very helpful, she was pretty much the only pleasant one there. She was going above to try and accommodate me. Never coming here again —and if you have an emergency I wouldn’t recommend this place, you’ll be waiting YEARS to be accommodated. I don’t do reviews normally and when I do they’re usually positive, this was the only negative review I’ve ever written but I thought people should be aware. I was a patient of Dr Newman's for years. He is a very nice man. BUT....I had a sun spot that was changing size and needed to be biopsied. The office couldnt get me in for an appointment for over 2 months. I changed Drs. It turned out to be a cancerous mole. Do NOT expect to be treated quickly in an "emergency" situation. I was pleased with the care I received from Dr. Newman and his nurse, they took their time with me and answered all my questions. Everyone at the office was friendly and professional.

Doctor met appointment schedule. Office staff and medical assistant courteous and efficient. Dr. Newman answered all questions with explanations. Even this was the removal of a fair sized squamous cell carcinoma he advised of complications and how to avoid them.

I was scheduled to have two facial surgeries performed by Dr. Joshua M. Newman of AMARA for removal of squamous cell cancers based on a previous biopsy report. On the day of the surgeries, Angela brought me into the surgery room, made me comfortable and prepared me for the surgeries. Dr. Newman entered and informed me of what he would be doing and asked if I had any questions. He then proceeded to anesthesize the surgical areas, remove the cancers and stitched up the surgical sites, all done quickly with very little pain and discomfort. I am a new resident of Venice and was pleased to get an appointment with Dr. Newman. I am impressed with the practice’s friendliness and professionalism. Dr. Newman identified troublesome spots on my face that my “northern” dermatologist missed just 4 months ago. Winters here are spent outside, and an excellent dermatology practice is essential. Felt very comfortable in waiting room. Staff was welcoming. Dr. Newman and his PA took care of my abscess and I was able to schedule an appointment for one year for body check. Very happy to have found a dermatologist that I feel comfortable with.

This being only my second visit to a dermatologist I was quite pleased to find Dr Newman's office and staff more accommodating than my previous my experience with another Doctor.

Dr. Newman immediately made me feel at ease. He is a good listener & answered of of my questions in plain English. I found him to be very thorough & he took his time examining me so I never felt rushed. His nurse Angela was very pleasant and the intake process was very easy. They both care for their patients & you feel they are sincerely interested in your concerns.

The exam was very thorough, professional, and efficient.

My appointment at Centre For Sight was at 2:30 they brought me back to a room exactly at 2:30 Dr. Newman came in the room no more than five minutes later. He was thorough and professional and empathetic. I had neglected the treatment of two previously diagnosed basal cell cancers. He got me scheduled next week. I would highly recommend him. This was my first visit to see Dr. Newman. Both he and his staff were pleasant, professional and thorough.

I have been a patient of Dr. Newman's at the Venice office for several years. I drive an hour just to see him. He is a wonderful doctor very knowledgeable, personable and pleasant to his patients.He does have a lot of students that observe in this office and work with him which I'm not a fan of. To each their own. However the staff at this particular office is very snobby and not friendly at all. It's a shame that the experience is not a positive one due to the staff. They act like Robots.I have worked in the healthcare field 30 plus years and have high expectations. It really makes the doctors look bad and the staff can make or break a practice. I really hope the Sarasota office is better because the doctor is amazing! Today was not a good experience so I felt the need to express.

The staff at Center For Sight is friendly and respectful. I saw Dr Newman for a routine skin check. He was very professional and efficient. I felt that he treated only what was necessary.

Dr. Newman does not give a comprehensive skin exam. He also charges to remove facial spots that are deemed cosmetic. I have had Dermatologists in three states who never charged me extra. The removal cost me $75 that I had to pay out of hand. The spot was removed months ago and I still have a scar. He scraped off the spot with a razor! My spots have always been frozen and never left a scar.

The Doctor in my opinion was professional, thorough in his examination and evaluation, was personable, friendly, concise in his evaluation. All in all was a very favorable experience. I would definitely recommend Dr. Newman in fact I made an appointment for my wife to see Dr Newman at the conclusion of my visit.
