Dr. Feder has stabilized my special needs daughter twice from my home. I can’t thank him enough.

For this visit we met both outside as well as in the office. It still was very professional and helpful. Dr Feder is a wonderful and caring person (and we love his therapy dog Charlie as well!). Thank you.

Dr. Feder is the best! Intuitive, sensitive, smart. We feel so lucky to have been referred to him. (Plus he loves dogs; what else needs to be said?)

Dr Feder is a great doctor and was very patient and caring with our daughter but as some have commented, his rates are astronomical compared to others in this field. Charges and bills like a lawyer. It was not sustainable to continue.

Dr. Feder continues to have a successful impact on our son. He is part of the behavioral team that has made what looked liked the impossible, possible. We went from no productive educational placements in elementary years and no friends to successful transition to college on a full academic scholarship. Our son is making friends and finding his way, despite the tumultuous world we find ourselves in. Dr. Feder is a caring and compassionate care giver and is also extremely well versed in different treatment modalities including medications. His expertise and guidance over the years has been invaluable in now having 3 healthy, happy, functioning adults. That’s all any parent wants, their children to do well and be happy, contributing members of society. Dr. Feder has been a integral part of that for our family and we have gratitude for his care. I read some other reviews questioning the prices. Yes, he’s expensive, but he does what he can to manage costs for patients. We limited spending in other areas to handle the bills, but you’d have to do that with any important expense. As patients do better, there’s much less time involved and the cost decreases. Our situation could have gone very badly along the way and it didn’t, because he was on top of things and very responsive. So, now, as someone who has come through on the other side, I can report that having him on our side was worth the time and money. Dr Feder is patient and wonderful with children. He is supportive and understanding of our situation. Dr Feder is knowledgeable, compassionate and is committed to helping our child reach his highest potential. Nice guy and our kiddo loves him!

Dr. Feder has been helping our son for almost 6mos. We've been very fortunate to have been referred to him by a director of a special education school. Recently, Dr. Feder has been a great advocate for our son when a social worker didn't quite understand the severity of his symptoms. His advocacy led to an in-depth evaluation of my son at the hospital. Dr. Feder is sensitive to our son's situation along with the rest of our family. I've always been able to contact Dr. Feder if I have a pressing issue regarding my son. I truly can't get this kind of care anywhere else.

$500+ per hour. Including anything done outside of appointments like paper C2 Rx and refuses to use online options provided by the state. My last 15 minute appointment cost over $300 and it was performed in the alley behind the office to insure his dog was not exposed to Covid— not joking. He insisted on an in-person so he could check my blood pressure then used a janky $30 automatic cuff which he recommended I get from amazon. It showed my bp was wildly elevated and instead of rechecking it manually, suggested bp medication. Lo and behold, the amazon reviews for his automatic cuff were replete with complaints of wildly inaccurate results skewing 30-40 points high. This was the straw that broke this camel’s back. After this, I quit using the drug he prescribed off label for anxiety and saw zero change; any effects were purely placebo. Bear in mind this was the final interaction I had with him, but quite representative of the relationship. I regret ever meeting him.

Incredibly knowledgeable, I have used Dr. Feder's services for not only a family member, but also as an expert witness in child custody cases involving children with special needs. In one such circumstance several well qualified doctors were unable to identify the needs of a particular child. Dr. Feder accurately identified the problem as a rare genetic disorder (although not specializing in the same area to my recollection) and referred the parents and child to top notch genetic treatment providers at Rady's. I affirm with 23 years of litigation experience Dr. Feder is the best of the best. I appreciate Dr Feder's thorough understanding of the issues my child is having as well as his willingness to listen to our ideas versus simply dictate next steps. Dr. Feder has always been outstanding to our family. His expertise and compassion is the standard by which others in his field should be measured. We are very grateful for all of his assistance and support as well as care for our family!

Dr. Feder approaches each session with focus, curiosity, and warm professionalism. I've seen him for a few years as an adult with social anxiety and depression and have appreciated his ability to match medications to my needs, suggest options for regulating myself outside of our sessions, and explain concepts in accessible terms that I can use to reframe experiences. I also appreciate his willingness to draw images and diagrams on paper to help me connect with the topics that we are discussing. He takes a holistic approach and each session is an opportunity to revisit or revise the picture he has of the aspects of my life that are affecting my mental and physical health. His lack of ego coupled with his kind dedication has created a rapport in which I feel free to discuss thoughts and emotions that have been difficult to access and share in the past. He also has referred me to other medical and mental health professionals with whom I've been very happy.

Dr. Feder was very knowledgable, conscientious, kind, timely, and compassionate when working with our family.

Dr. Feder is the most responsive doctor we have ever been treated by. He is thorough, careful, knowledgeable and caring. He is easy to reach and has gone out of his way several times over the past several months to help us through challenging moments with our son.

I believe Dr. Feder is a skilled and thorough doctor and what means a lot is that he seems to genuinely care about his patient. He is not only a psychiatrist who prescribes medication after making a diagnosis (based on thorough evaluation and assessment) but he provides a wealth of resources and helps the patient to make goals in other areas of life so that the patient is encouraged to move forward. My son is benefiting in Dr Feder's care. My son's pediatrician and former psychiatrist recommended him highly and so even though it was expensive I gave my son that chance and booked an appointment. There are never guarantees. No doctor can know everything and never make errors, they are human after all. But Dr. Feder is both competent and caring and is worth the price to pay to be in his care. Dr. Feder has been a wonderful resource for our family. He is extremely professional and amazing with kids. He provides a high quality of care and excellent insights, and he really "gets" our complicated kiddo.

Both of my children have been working with Dr. Feder for +7 years now. His vast, and up-to-date, knowledge has led to many discoveries regarding my childrens' mental and physical needs. He has been an amazing resource in regards to recommending reading materials, recommending several Occupational Therapists (we worked with 1 OT for 2 years upon his recommendation), additional neuro-psychiatrists to perform educational testing closer to our home and perform in-class observations, as well as recommendations for a multitude of various types of mental health professionals. In all of the years we have worked with Dr. Feder, I have always felt he has had the children's best interests in mind; I have never felt demeaned or belittled in his presence. In fact, he has been able to accurately put a voice to my concerns and has been very empowering for myself a well. I highly recommend Dr. Feder for a wide variety of needs. My children have learning disabilities, mood disorders, sensory processing difficulties and come from a high-conflict divorced family. Dr. Feder has been a huge advocate for my children in terms of mental health and accessing approproiate resources for diagnosed learning disabilities. I honestly can't image what our life would be like had we not been introduced to Dr. Feder all those years ago! We drvie almost an hour 1-way to see him - that's how much we like and respect him. Dr. Feder is a knowledgeable and experienced professional who cares deeply about his patients and their family. He understands well the impact autism has on the family. What I appreciate most about Dr. Feder is his multi-disciplinary approach, and his attention to the different factors and different environments his patients spend their time in when creating a treatment plan. He’s great

My child was misdiagnosed by Dr. Feder and he put her on meds that actually increased her manic episodes. He diagnosed her with ADHD and she was actually bi-polar. She got angrier and more and more unstable. This was after spending thousands of dollars there and we weren't even any closer to getting my daughter to a stable place. We switched, got a correct diagnosis, she is stable and excelling.

This guy is extremely rude.. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone

In this day and age of doctors you should be informed and question the practices of doctors. My daughter saw this doctor for about 9 months. During that time we spent thousands and thousands of dollars seeing him. We have seen many child psychiatrists and not one has the same billing practices as this doctor. He charges for "family work without patient present" ($420 an hour!), "prolonged services before and/ or after patient present (another $420 hr) , "prolonged services before and/or after face to face, records, report" ($525.00!!) which was a large portion of the bill and felt out of control to me. There was no way for me to verify this. He also makes you give him a "retainer" of about $2000 that we kept having to top up. I felt like his billing was a bottomless pit. We were desperate for care for my daughter who was very mentally ill at the time. There are other doctors out there. Since we have changed our daughter has a completely different diagnosis than what Dr Feder diagnosed her with and is very stable, happy and thriving. We are thrilled but when I look back on this experience with Dr Feder I wish I had gone somewhere else. The amount of time he spends on my child and billed us for without anyone present is not something I had ever seen nor have I seen since. Just be aware and ask a lot of questions.
