Two hours after waking up from surgery, I was feeling blood flowing through all my fingers for the first time in 3 years. Dr. Sherrill, essentially, through bilateral carpal tunnel surgery (a routine surgical procedure) has probably freed up 5% of my mind to stop thinking about my 8 fingers that were numb, tingly, or painfully throbbing about 80% of my waking life this past year. All a product of rock climbing, woodwork, and generally being active with my hands. Today, I’m thankful for Dr. Sherrill & his team, and the miracles of modern healthcare. I’m 40yrs old next month… And if you are healthy, and thinking about doing it… I’d say go for it and do them both at the same time. I have Keinbachs disease and he shortened the bone in my arm and I have not had any issues since the surgery. The best

Dr Sherrill knew my case without referencing notes, was impressively kind and explained my issue so I could understand. He was willing to discuss options when I responded hesitantly to the surgery suggestion. I may choose surgery, but he was willing to work with me, sending me home with a custom splint and exercises, following up next week. Dr Sherrill and staff are efficient, kind, courteous, and really care. Dr Sherrill did hand surgery on me 25 years ago and is now helping me deal with another hand problem. I would not want to go to anyone else!

Saw Dr. Joseph Sherrill at UAB Highlands for bilateral carpal tunnel surgery (he did a great job on surgery) and on follow up visit had sutures removed and was told by Dr. Sherrill "we are going to get you some therapy to help you regain range of motion and hand strength. Was walked by Dr. Sherrill's Staff to the therapy room and then later get a bill from University of Alabama Health Services for more money (after meeting my major medical deductible already). Asked them to re bill the amount to BC/BS PROPERLY showing Sally Dykes as a DOCTOR of Occupational Therapy so it would be paid. University of Alabama Health Services never re billed the amount, instead said they sent it to an internal department to look at the coding that their "in house" department determined it had been billed correctly and I had to make the payment less a small adjustment. DON'T go to Occupational Therapy if you use Dr. Sherrill or YOU will be the one paying the bill. Dr. Sherrill should have advised me that the therapy that is being done under the same roof in his offices is being provided by a separate provider and that it may not be covered by my insurance. To me he is the best

Dr. Sherill did surgery on both wrist several years ago. Great dr. And kind...hard to find these two traits now in a dr. I would never let anyone else do my surgery. Top notch

Dr Sherrill is hands down the best in Alabama. you see what I did there "hands down"..... he's a hand surgeon, get it. OK bad puns aside Dr Sherrill is the only person that is going to cut on my hands. He took bone spurs out of my right wrist when I could barely move my thumb 15 years ago and it's been good to go since then.

Dr. Sherrill gave me back the use of my hand after a botched surgery. That surgeon referred me to another hand specialist who tried to rehabilitate the bad surgery. I eventually sought the best and found him. Joe Sherrill explains everything that will happen or is going on in language anyone can understand, even drawing pictures (crude as they may be!). I’m an anatomy and physiology professor by trade and understood, but he made sure my history professor husband understood as well. He is caring and will work with you until all is well. His office is efficient and your wait time is short. I recommend him highly. Dr. Sherrill gave me back the use of my hand after a botched surgery. Doctor Sherrill did an outstanding job, on my wrist surgery. I had misplaced all the small bones in my hand and wrist. I went to two other doctors before Dr. Sherrill that wanted to do nerve blocks or complete fusions(with no mobility). I am a heavy equipment welder and it has been six year since my surgery and I have not had a problem since. Doctor Sherrill did an outstanding job, on my wrist surgery. I suggest you overlook Dr. Sherrill's hair! ???? I was kind of turned off because it makes him look kinda weird! After talking with someone who used him and how easy the surgery went with very fast recovery time and very little, if any, scars, I used Dr. Sherrill. He was everything I was told! AWESOME! I had had 2 surgeries on my elbow previous and it was useless. I was referred to Dr. Sherrill by my internist and he performed a very difficult elbow replacement. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I would recommend him to anyone who is having orthopedic difficulty. Do not let just anyone operate on you!
