Dr. Joe Gorz & Neighborhood Primary Care was great initially, when the practice first opened. Very kind, patient & thorough. However something changed during Covid. Some Examples…He was very condescending, unsupportive & dismissive when I questioned options for bloodwork, he allowed interns in the room during my visit without my permission or introduction and did not take responsibility for improper billing practices…which were borderline fraudulent after further investigation. Moving forward, I won’t be returning to Neighborhood Primary Care, or Dr. Gorz again. Way beyond disappointing.

This "small mom and pop shop" as described by Dr. Gorz cannot handle patients with complicated health care needs. They want patients that need quick sick visits. As stated in an earlier post, they just decide that they don't want to see you anymore. I have never had a doctor's office do this, but it was mutual because it's easier to work with a primary who has rights at hospitals so he can view records and such from labs and other specialists. We were hopeful that he would treat us as well as coordinate care, but we were too time consuming for this practice. If you are healthy and need a yearly physical and an occasional sick visit, it may work for you. Otherwise, be prepared to face discrimination for having too many health issues.

Dr. gorz really cares about his patients. He takes time to understand what’s going on.

Doc was fine. However, Kristen from the office is incredibly unprofessional and extremely rude. I’m appalled her behavior is acceptable. With no reason given, she has told me she has decided to not schedule me again with the practice. ???? she then hung up on me after telling me she would be happy to send any of my files that I may need. I had to call back to reply that yes I need my files sent. I’ve never had an experience quite like that before. I’m left absolutely dumbfounded and almost speechless. Dr. Gorz is fantastic! He provides great care, thoroughly listening to patients and offering options, involving the patient in their own care plan. The front office staff is very polite and happy to help. The MAs are very knowledgeable and friendly.

I am a co-owner of HealthQuest Physical Therapy and Medical Fitness in Oxford and have had the pleasure of working with patients of Dr. Gorz. To a person, each patient has been extremely pleased with Dr. Gorz and his team. I can text or call him at any time to discuss a patient's case and he is always interested in how our patients are doing in therapy.

Going to a small practice is usually a great way to receive thorough and special care in a safe environment. However, Dr. Gorz made very little effort to get to know me or my symptoms. I did not feel safe contacting him with medical concerns/questions, and I also did not feel like I was being taken seriously or being listened to. I have a long medical history, and several conditions that require management. Dr. Gorz took me on as a patient less than a year ago, and has since addressed and provided relief from all of them. When he didn't have the answer, he sent me to someone who did, and then followed through with a plan to address the issue head on. The whole staff is on point with their tasks, while managing to be kind and empathetic, along with running a busy office very efficiently. The doctor is awesome, only problem is his staff. They are extremely rude and unprofessional. My family has been using this dr for the last year now. Every single time we have to make an appointment or call for something, the ladies at the desk are VERY rude! Kristen dug into my personal medical information while I was simply trying to book an appointment or speak to my doctor. She refused to take a message for the dr and got an attitude and hung up on me. I called back and absolutely nobody would help me get ahold of my doctor. For months they told me my daughter didn’t have insurance (she very much did) and they refused her vaccines. This was all due to his poorly ran and unprofessional staff! Dr Gorz is amazing and listens intently. He makes you feel comfortable right from the start. My only complaint would be the Medical Receptionists are not very friendly or eager to help when a patient calls.

Dr. Gorz sincerely cares for myself and my son, he is patient and professional !

The initial review that led my wife and I to contact this office for our newborn was that he had a good balance of medical and holistic suggestions when it came to medicine. So we were surprised to hear that they would not allow my wife, who tested positive for covid while in the hospital before delivery, would not even be allowed in the car to attend our sons first pediatric appt. They also had no plan for me, the father, as we were told I’d have to be tested onsite and if positive, they had no protocol from what to do there. We were very disappointed with how we were treated. My wife was told the cdc guidelines of 5 days of isolation did not apply because she is not vaccinated, yet vaccination does not prevent transmission. We will not be allowing a place that does not actually create policy around scientific fact to see our son. Another blatant case of medical tyranny. Luckily, we were able to find another pediatrics office that will see ALL OF US this afternoon and did so without feeling like there was medical discrimination.

Dr Groz is a amazing doctor him and his family have been very amazing to my family and I. I am so blessed to have Dr Groz handle our family medical needs. Thank you You are amazing keep do great things . We all need you.

There is no better doctor out there than Dr. Gorz. I had been dealing with an elusive problem for a year and half, and was referred to Dr. Gorz by a local Urgent Care facility. Dr. Gorz listened, was understanding, and did not hesitate to conduct the testing necessary to get to the bottom of my problem. If he is not to capacity at this time, he will be in the very near future.

Dr. Gorz is very knowledgeable and helped me fully understand my diagnoses. He understands my stance on medications and didn't try to prescribe anything without giving me alternative natural remedies first, which worked very well. He explained things that the ER did not and reassured me that my condition would have a great outcome. For a doctor to get me to feel comfortable regularly coming in an office is a huge step for me personally since I haven't felt the need to have a primary care doctor in 10 years. He wants to be involved in my care, reached out when I had an emergency, made sure I was seen for a follow up from the ER, and has given me the best natural route of therapy in order to make sure I heal in the best way possible. I highly recommend this clinic. From the staff to the doctor they are all around amazing.

Dr. Gorz gives you the feeling of a small town doctor who takes the time to connect with you, get to know you and listen to you. I think the name of his practice is fitting for his personality and treatment practice. He makes you feel like you're valuable and not just another patient. He doesn't judge, he only encourages and supports. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field and he shares his breadth of knowledge with you when it fits. Every staff member I have encountered so far has been lovely! No cranky receptionists, no dull MA's, everyone seems like they want to be there. You don't have to repeat why you're there multiple times, Dr. Gorz comes in and recites why you're there and waits for you to elaborate. I've been to many physicians and this was a first. Everything went smoothly and efficiently. Virtually no wait & we were in and out pretty quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Gorz & Neighborhood Primary Care!

Awesome staff. Saw me after hours when I was suffering from horrible bronchitis. Recommended my hisband to go see Dr. Gorz and he was very happy as well.

I took my son in to get both his scout physical and his high school sports physical for track. Dr. Gorz was professional, timely and thorough. His staff was efficient at check in and he cheerfully helped get all the forms in order while reminding my son to stay in school and be sure to get his eagle scout. I will be gladly recommending him to friends and family.

I have been searching for a doctor who is willing to take the time to offer a solution to my health issues, rather than just treat the symptoms. Thankfully I think I have finally found one – one I will probably stay with thru all the rest of the stages of my life. During my initial visit with Dr. Gorz he sat down and listened to my health history. I never felt rushed. Thru his commitment of asking questions and listening to my symptoms, he was able to resolve a painful health issue with my side I had been having for years. The staff is also excellent! They made sure I was in the exam room at my appointment time and seen right away – not left sitting in the waiting room past my appointment time. It’s never a fun experience establishing a new primary care doctor, but Dr. Gorz’s medical knowledge and the empathetic staff made it a more pleasant process!

Dr. Gorz was very knowledgeable and helpful in my first visit with him. The office staff was great and I was able to get an appointment the same day! I am happy about the Teledoc app as well. Highly recommend Dr. Gorz.

Dr Joe Gorz is a kind caring compassionate doctor. He gets the job done. Really interested in the patient and family. An old fashioned down home doctor that cares. Your not just a number at his office. Your a person. They get you well fast. What a relief to FINALLY have a doctor like this!

I visited Dr. Gorz at his new office in Lake Orion. It had a comfortable waiting room. His staff was friendly and efficient. I got a same-day appointment and was very pleased with the wait time as I was a new patient. Dr. Gorz was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He also let me know that he would be doing eappointments which will be a plus for me!

I really have a great deal of faith in this Doctor. I’m 51 years old and he is the only 2nd Doctor I have trusted with my care!
