I've been Dr. Decker's patient for several years. He's been data focused when providing diagnosis, also resourceful in terms of obtaining cutting-edge eye drops to better treat IOP. Covid has made visits more challenging, but that's the new norm.

Dr. Decker has been taking care of my eyes for about 15 years now. In him I have complete trust and confidence. He is very attentive and very down to earth. I appreciate his sense of humor and never doubt that the health of my eyes is as important to him as it is to me. He explains things to me--and answers any and all of my questions. I also deeply appreciate his staff. In my experience with some other physicians, their staff did not reflect the same spirit as the doctor, and that is sad. That is NOT the case with Dr. Decker. His staff is responsive, kind, professional and very sensitive. I actually enjoy my appointments with Dr. Decker for I know there will be no stress or tension involved. FIVE STARS FOR DR. My family have gone to Dr. Decker for years. I was due for an eye exam in March but due to the pandemic I was reluctant to go into the office. After pushing the appointment out several times I did go into the office today. I have to say it was a wonderful experience with Dr. Yang and all the staff. The Doctor explained all their protocol to me and I felt so very safe. Dr. Yang is wonderful in explaining my medical issues and answering all my questions. Jennifer was wonderful explaining their protocol as well. Andy is always so pleasant and knowledgeable and makes one feel at ease. I give 5 stars to San Jose Eye Institute for having such wonderful Doctors, staff and an exceptionally clean office!!!I'am so happy I went forward with the appointment and felt very safe during this covid time!! Dr. Decker is a superb doctor and has been taking care of our family for years, keeping us active and carefully tended to all the needs of our eyes. I'm 84 years old and my husband is 95 this year. We depend on Dr. Decker to keep us going.

No relation to the Dr but he became my ophthalmologist over 20 yrs ago after I'd moved to SJ. My then-SJ Council rep in a door-to-door canvas noted my surname and volunteered it was her ophthalmologist's surname. I was looking for a new eye Dr. and she recommended him. Within the last 9 yrs I've been under close observation and treatment for angle-closure glaucoma and I've been grateful for Dr. Decker's expertise. Dr. Decker is an exceptional eye surgeon. He is professional, and listens to the patient. I have severe dry eyes due to an autoimmune problem. Dr. Decker has installed tear duct plugs more than once & without any discomfort. He has also continued to advise me on medication for this issue. His staff is wonderful . They have done the paperwork, cheerfully, to help me deal with the medication cost with Medicare, my supplemental insurance & now a new online pharmacy. I should add that Dr. Decker did both of my cataract surgeries in 2001 & 2003 with excellent results. Joseph Decker, MD, has been my mother’s ophthalmologist for many decades. She had I have always been very pleased with his care and the outcomes of his treatment. His surgical treatment of her cataracts was excellent many years ago. In more recent years, he identified her dry macular degeneration at an early stage and his careful follow up and recommendations have kept her vision good. He has a kind, thoughtful and thorough manner. Though he is an older physician, he continues to provide excellent care and stay current.

This is a doctor who actually listens to you. I first saw Dr. Decker for cataract surgery in 2001, & he removed the cataract in my second eye in 2003. I still enjoy the benefits of the multi focal implants from my two surgeries I now see Dr.Decker for dry eyes due to Sjogrens. Dr. Decker has painlessly inserted tear duct plugs and helped me with medications. Dr.Decker has a wonderful staff who have helped me with the insurance paperwork & how to obtain my medication for the best price.

I have been a patient with Dr. Decker for years. He is very knowledgeable about his field and has a fantastic sense of humor. The staff is friendly and the office is clean. I highly recommend him and have done so with my friends and family.

Dr. Decker has been my opthomologist for many years and I think he is the very best. He and his staff are always friendly and very helpful. Dr. Decker is a highly respected professional and I have the utmost confidence in him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Decker’s for many years! He is a skilled physician who is up-to-date on the latest treatments. The entire office has a welcoming atmosphere and I’ve observed that they give personal attention to each patient. Despite being in high demand, Dr. Decker takes his time to listen and answer questions completely. He explains all options for treatments and considers what will work best based on the situation and the patient’s tolerance for the prescription- I’m so fortunate to be Dr. Decker’s patient.

Dr Decker has been my ophthamologist of choice for a long time. I always feel that I am in the best of care with Dr Decker. He and his office staff are top notch.
