Many doctors who specialize in sleep medicine really don't have an understanding of RLS. Dr. Berkowski has made RLS and helping patients who struggle with it his life's passion. He is compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable. He doesn't stop until he has helped his patients find a solution. He answers questions through his portal promptly. It is such a comfort to know that someone is listening and willing to help find individualized solutions to this devastating problem. He explores all avenues possible with insurance and really never gives up until his patients have found sleep. I am so grateful to have found him.
Dr. Berkowski does all the talking. Basically, the patient is only allowed to answer yes or no to his rigid protocol. He does not work with patients but rather barks out a treatment plan without any say from the patient. There is no way to have a working relationship with him. His treatment orders were inappropriate based on wrong assumptions, lack of history taking, etc. His conclusions were inaccurate. To top it off, he never addressed the reason he was recommened. Bottom line... not at all a good clinician
