Really didn't help my daughter at all, only prescribed medication. We also experienced him being a little hostile and combative. He really never helped my daughter work through her problems. We finally got in with another psychiatrist and the experience was night and day. Take the time to find a different doctor.

If Srabstein were, say, a podiatrist, then perhaps we could excuse his aggressive bedside manner so long as the foot were repaired. But as a child psychiatrist, he is literally with the most vulnerable young patients around and their stressed out parents. Bedside manner/rapport is EVERYTHING. To this backdrop we introduce Srabstein. He interrupts every. single. sentence., raises his voice, doesn't listen, and generally seems to hate his job and just want to fight (and schedule VERY frequent meetings, which I found suspicious). He never bothered to get to know me or my child, he was incredibly rude, disrespectful and insulting, and his manner made effective treatment completely impossible. He displayed anger and a lack of self-restraint in every appointment--truly shocking. A message for Srabstein: "Physician, heal thyself."

I believe Dr. Srabstein truly cares about his patients and wants the best for them. However, that doesn’t make up for the problems that come up seeing him. First, his administrative person is a rude man who doesn’t follow up, doesn’t return calls, and will tell you that getting messages to the doctor isn’t his job. We constantly had unpaid bills because of billing issues with his office that they should have resolved with the insurance company. Lastly, his rules about when and how appointments had to take place were extremely burdensome on the family, requiring both parents at meeting one or more times a month and requiring us to arrange for child care for other children. We stopped going after being scolded too many times over things that we didn’t think should even be an issue.

Terribly rude doctor. Please read reviews about him. They are accurate. Worst experience with a doctor.

Dr. Srabstein has a kindly manner and is patient and clear with our questions as well as has a sweet temperment with my child.
