Dr. Jordan M Lisella

Dr. Lisella does not waste your time or his but is very willing to listen and never dismisses me because of my age or being a woman. Unfortunately too many doctors due just that! He does not push surgery on you but gives that an option. He has helped me with foot stability issues involving surgery for interior ankle braces and I feel like a new woman!

I have been here a couple of times and NEVER had a bad experience. Dr. Lisella did surgery on my left foot 6 years ago and at that time he told me that the right foot would eventually need it. So now I'm back to have the right foot done and he remembered who I was. Now thats a GREAT DOCTOR!!

I have had nothing but a great experience with the Bone and Joint Center. The staff is very welcoming and helpful and always willing to answer any questions that I had. Dr. Lisella is a very professional Doctor who made me feel very comfortable before my surgery on my Achilles tendon and has made me aware of what was done, how it will be post op, and all through the healing process. He is always concerned on how I felt and how to help me He always answered my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. This is my first experience with the Bone and Joint Center and it’s been absolutely wonderful. I felt calm and informed throughout the whole process (check in, pre-op/post-op, the actual ligament surgery, etc.). Dr. Lisella and his PA Alex Vitale have both been very professional, answering all my questions and explaining everything so I could understand. I never felt rushed when speaking to them or any of the other staff members. If I could give a 10/5 I would. From the moment I walked in the screener greeted me, I was directed to the correct floor. Once I got onto the floor I was checked in politely and quickly. And Dr. Lisella was very professional as well. Nicole his MA and Medical Secretary was so nice and polite and even wrote me a note so I could bring it in to my employer as well as called around for someplace I could get an ultrasound done. Waited two hours passed my appointment time to even see the man. Would not let me speak and tell him what was going on with my feet without talking over me when he did finally come in. Really just felt like he was annoyed and bothered that I took up his time to come in.

I suffered a serious fall in my apt with severe pain. I saw 2 orthopedist who both diagnoses partial tear of my Rt Achilles’ tendon. That was mid March of 2021. I went through months of agony with no improvement. I sought a foot ankle specialist. Dr Jordan Lisella came highly recommended from personal and medical providers. His evaluations by previous patients showed he had exemplary results. I saw him Sept. 6. He looked at my lower leg and foot and said I had a complete tear. He did an MRI to confirm and I had EMG testing in my lower legs to see how affected my nerves were from the injury. He had a cancellation and fit me in asap. I had repair done at AMCH and went home same day. I have an immune disorder and healing Is often prolonged. Every time I ran into a problem Nicole answered my call within the hour got me in that same day. Dr Lisella is a highly skilled foot and ankle specialist , that has managed my care which is challenging at best. He is a great listener. You can trust his judgement. Dr. Lisella evaluated my feet and recommended surgery. This was only my first visit with him, but he inspired confidence in me and I was impressed with his ability to succinctly explain a rather involved surgery. I did not feel rushed and all my questions were answered. I wouldn’t say he’s all warm and fuzzy; he might not be your guy if that’s what you need in a surgeon. Bone & Joint is ALWAYS bustling but the staff manages it well and it’s worth the bit of aggravation to get to see Dr. Lisella.

Dr. Lisella is more than an accomplished and knowledgeable surgeon. He is an artist and a perfectionist. He cares, personally, about his work, and as a patient, I feel super confident.

Dr. Lisella is the best ankle doc, always knows my past history and reactions when he comes in the exam room. I have highly recommended him to colleagues.

I wish I had gone there first best doctor knew exactly where my bone was broken before he even took an X-ray. The Doctor put it in its correct position and it’s no longer hurting after almost a year of rebreaking it due to it not being in the right place I’m so happy it’s finally healing I’ll never go to any other orthopedic group other than here such a light atmosphere and everyone is so nice I wish I had gone there first best doctor knew exactly where my bone was broken before he even took an X-ray. Dr. Lisella, surgical nurse Nicole is awesome she very caring, and called you back the same day. My appointment with Dr. Lisella went very well. We are planning for surgery for a full ankle replacement at the end of September. He provided information regarding the surgery, and we discussed the risks associated with it. He was very clear and very confident that the surgery would go well, and provide much needed relief for me.

Dr. Lisella has been wonderful & thorough. The care I experienced has lead me to recommend the practice to my friends & family. All of the staff is kind, knowledgeable & helpful with any questions. Having surgery during COVID is extra stressful & I felt completely safe & comfortable.

Total appointment time 2 hours. Bedside manner in one word NONE... worse yet he seemed to just guess what was wrong and since he didn't know he just came out with a diagnosis. I googled what he told me I had knowing he was wrong because my pain was not in the spot he touched and said "you have pain here" and i replied No here....and sure enough nothing like what I have. He is the worst doctor I have ever been to and surely DO NOT RECOMMEND. I am seeing another Doctor for a correct diagnosis. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR HEALTH GOING TO HIM.

Dr. Lisella ruined my wifes foot. She went into surgery with him for a Lapidus Bunionectomy and he did not line up the bones properly in the big toe. Confirmed by another doctor who reviewed her X-Ray...Her Big is a mess ... Pain in walking complete drift of toe so it looks ape like. Bone and Joint Center owns all the lawyers around and no one will take her case...Beware

Although the ankle surgery was definitely a success, Dr. Lisella was the most rude, dismissive doctor I have ever met. He walked out of the room while I was in the middle of asking a question. I changed to a different doctor for future followup.

I went to see Dr. Lisilla today in the Schnectady office. He didn’t have the news for me I was hoping to here, but he delivered it with such kindness. My experience was excellent. This goes back away - Summer 2018 - and it was a full Achilles rupture after a fall. Dr. Lisella was calm and somewhat soft-spoken. He did the surgery, and I followed his directions exactly over the next few months, and the results as of now have been terrific, with a heavy athletic schedule resumed for a 60+ year old guy. I had previously gone to an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoNY for the initial evaluation. While the evaluation was apparently accurate, and the surgeon was experienced, my short time with him was a poor experience: He was impatient, arrogant, and unsympathetic when explaining how long I was going to be held up by this. I high-tailed it out of there for Dr. Lisella as a second opinion, and I was very happy I stuck with him; he's the man! Yes, the office-practice is busy, and my best bet catching him for exams during the recovery period was to drive to the Malta, Saratoga, etc, offices, but that's how things are these days.

Arrogant. Rude. Insulted me in front of my family. Never really explained the procedure. I was holding back tears. I have so many other things going on. My emotions were running high. I have never been treated this way by a physician before. Baffled. Thought they were supposed to comfort you, explain, listen..... I will never return. I’m in shock over this. I told my husband and family. They felt so bad for me. Very unprofessional and horrible bedside manner. First time a Doctor swore at me. I sat there answering questions. Calmly, politely. Chalked it up to maybe he was having a bad day. ??

In my opinion, he’s the best. He listens and gives the best options. He operated on my daughter’s ankle and mine and we both have had good results. He’s the only doctor I trust.

An hour and 50 minute wait to spend 5 minutes with the Doctor, 2 of which he was actually in the room. Capital region orthopaedics seems to have gone downhill in their customer service skills. They call to schedule appointments and don’t leave messages so you have to track down the caller. I will not be coming back for anything that isn’t major.

Foot is worse now than it was before he operated. Now I am going to another ortho to repair damage done.

Dr. Lisella took the time to really understand the problem and explain the solution in a positive and caring way - great doctor.

I found out about Dr. Lisella via his wife and boy, what a lucky day that was for me! All of my adult life I had struggled with sprain after sprain due to a major accident when I was 15 or so. The last blow was a fall from a tree, landed on my feet from about 12 feet and blew out what little tendon was remaining on my left side. Long story short, I had a consult with Jordan (excellent bedside manner) and in short order we decided to move forward with complete ankle reconstruction. I am now 4 months post surgery and am walking 4-5 miles/day without any pain. My scar is very minimal, this is the best I have felt doing cardio in YEARS. No complications, this surgery has really put my back on track in terms of my physical activity and elimination of daily pain. Did not explain the procedure thoroughly. Pin was too long in foot resulting in pain at flexion of foot. Pin at union joint broke. Went in for a Bunion procdure and ended up in more pain than before surgery. Broken pin discovered by podiatrist and need subsequent surgery with a different orthopedic surgeon to correct it.
