Dr. Jonathan Ezra Vogel

I was referred to Dr. Vogel back in April due to potential narcolepsy. I called and made an appointment with a staffer, but had to wait months for availability (Aug. 30th to be exact.) That's completely understandable for a specialist. However, on Aug. 13th, having waited months for my appointment, his office called to inform me that they don't deal with narcolepsy at all. Again, that's fine, you don't specialize in everything, but it's wild that a) someone allowed me to make an appointment after hearing what it was for, and b) it took the doctor months to let someone know that they couldn't treat me. Had they told me when I first called, I could have made an appointment elsewhere instead of twiddling my thumbs waiting for the end of August. It's not malpractice or anything truly serious, but I'm writing this up so future potential patients get a full verbal verification from their (hopefully more knowledgeable) office staff that they do indeed treat the issues for which they've been referred/are seeking help.

I rightly credit my neurologist Dr. Jonathan Vogel, for literally saving my life. I was in so much unbearable chronic migraine pain before my mom found him for us, that ending it all was feeling like an option. Thank the gods that isn’t the case anymore. I’ve been seeing him for over a decade now and he is the most wonderful, compassionate, and down to earth doctor I’ve ever had. Through many courses of treatment for my disorder, we’ve developed a protocol of different meds that help take my migraines from 24-7 to one or two a week, and hopefully no more TIA’s. I saw him today for Botox shots in my head, neck, and shoulders. Yes it hurts. Yes it helps. I should be the poster child for “Botox for Migraines”. Botox makes me able to feel human and able to work a normal schedule again. I wish it lasted longer, but I’ll take what I can get until the scientists work that out. If you or anyone you love has migraines or any neurological disorders (MS, CP, et al), do yourself a favor and get in with him. Tell him I sent ya! They take most insurance, and before I had insurance they were very fair with a cash price. His staff are excellent and most have been with him for years, which says a lot about the practice. Just had my first visit with Dr Vogel. I have had symptoms from a concussion I had for several months now and was very worried. He put my mind at ease, gave me some suggestions to help me and made a follow-up visit. I was very worried but I feel much better since I've seen him and I feel I'm in really good hands. His staff was also really lovely.

Was very attentive with my ailing grandmother. Very clear about her condition as her dementia changed to Alzheimer's. And helped us to understand the changes that we were expect in the future.

After experiencing headaches and dizziness on and off for over 2 years, I was rather nervous in even visiting a specialist. Dr. Vogel listened to every last detail, took copious notes, and calmed my nerves about how strange all the symptoms made me feel. Even though I've come to find out that it takes a while to secure the first appointment with a neurologist, he didn't make me feel rushed and gave plenty of time to go over all my concerns.

Dr. Vogel has been a excellent doctor in the 5+ tears i've been his patient. I had been to several doctors at many different places and never received the attention to my health and help as I have from him. He has been honest from the first visit after reviewing all of my tests and other prior doctor visits. He has helped me to the very best of his ability and has always relayed information on my mediications to my home primary care physician. I highly recommend Dr. Vogel !

Excellent Neurologist - very knowledgeable, listens and gives great advise. I've had many Doctors with over 30 years with MS and he is one of the best I have had

I went once, and it was a basic, standard first appointment. I've tried to follow up, but every time I call I get a message saying that I should call back "during business hours." This is when I call during the listed business hours. Even calling the hospital main number forwards to this voicemail. There's no option to leave a message, so I guess they're wondering why it's always so quiet in the office.

Dr. Vogel may well be the best doctor I have ever encountered. He listens carefully and responds completely. I feel that he is assisting me manage my peripheral neuropathy rather than merely examining and prescribing.

After seeking Dr. Vogel to assist in supplementing current meds in an attempt to reduce seizure activity I took a variety of tests. One of which was a 72 hour EEG arranged through Il Masonic Hospital. They set up the test and analyzed the results. When Dr Vogel received the results he set up an appt to discuss. When I got to his office it was clear he done nearly no reviewing of the results after pressing his awareness. He suggested I start taking vitamins and offered NO solution to the problem.

This doc prescribed me a med for epileptic seizures, I suffer from migraines. I ended up in hospital due to side effects. When I went back to him cause I noticed my migraines had become a little more frequent he sarcastically said so you're worried cause you had an unscheduled migraine? I asked if I could be prescribed sumatriptan shots, he agreed. I wanted something as needed rather than a daily med. I called to ask question, I was told I had to set an appointment. Then they reffused me.

Dr. Vogel took care of me in his office and in the hospital. I trust his judgement. I wish I could think of something wrong.
