Johnny Russell Mcminn

Dr. McMinn is an excellent doctor. I have been under his care for about 5 - 6 years. Right from the beginning after running the necessary tests he evaluated my situation and has provided me with excellent care. He spends time with his patients and answers all my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. McMinn for your medical doctor.

Receptionists are terrible. Does not return calls from messages that I've left. He does everything "by the book", no exceptions.

My father and I never met Dr McMinn, but my Dad had an appointment scheduled in a few days when he died suddenly (at 91). Dr Mcminn’s office had already done the bloodwork for my Dad (66 pages of results). In my grief, I wanted to go over the results with Dr McMinn. He would not call me back.. even though I went to the office, picked up my father’s bloodwork results and left word. I think Dr McMinn showed no compassion in refusing to have a five minute ph conversation with me.. even though I was very distraught. The front desk staff told me he was very busy. Excellent visit, consisting of a PET scan, other lab work, and a consultation meeting in one of Dr McMin's exam rooms. Test results were within average ranges except for a couple which can be corrected by diet adjustment. I have been a patient of Dr McMin for several years, and our interactions have always been relaxed and friendly. We get together every 4 months to verify remission and verify my state of health. Excellent

Dr. McMinn was very thorough in both of my visits, taking time to explain and answer all my questions. He also has a very calming manner which makes the "C" word a little easier to swallow. His staff explains well and also takes the time to listen and answer any questions.

I would agree with the 5 star ratings above. Dr. McMinn is very easy to work with, he tells it like it is and he is very open to and seeks patient input. I feel very fortunate to Dr. McMinn and nurse Barbara taking care of me through this most difficult journey.

Dr. McMinn is a wonderful doctor. He is never in a hurry and so knowledgeable. Further more he is a really nice person and I am so lucky to have him as my oncologist. I give him and Barbara five stars in every category.

We were very impressed with Dr. McMinn and his staff. He took all the necessary time to visit with the patient and family, answering all of the questions that we had, and making us very comfortable with the treatment plan that was offered. We would certainly recommend Dr. McMinn to others.

He listens to what was said and is easy to talk with.

I've only seen Dr. McMinn once so far, but I immediately felt at ease with him. I feel very confident in his ability to steer me through the challenge I'm facing.

Dr McMinn is great, but I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. I've had 12 chemo treatments and 3 rounds of Chemo pills with not very much improvement. I'm not working and insurance was cancelled because of not working and Integris Cancer Institute said I can't continue treatment without insurance. I would like treatment, but I don't have insurance.

I highly recommend Dr McMinn. He has been my Oncologist for over five years. He is the most caring physician I have ever known. He makes you feel at ease on each visit and explains the nature of your illness in great detail. He also has a wonderful staff.

The best experience I’ve ever had with a doctor and his staff. Not waiting to be seen. You get in very quickly. And he takes time that answer your questions and interpret the lab results for you. Awesome!

I positively count Dr. McMinn very high on my favorite doctors list. He is kind, caring, compassionate and always explains everything very well. My only negative is that his staff out front don't follow through. They were supposed to phone in a prescription for me for sinulair and still have never done it.

Dr. McMinn is our trusted oncologist for my wife and me for many years. He did all the things the other reviews mentioned, and then some! Both of our cancers are in remission thanks to Dr. McMinn, his RN Barbara, and the staff at Integris Cancer Institute.

Dr. McMinn has been managing my general health care for many years. When I was dying from undiagnosed renal cell cancer in 2006, after months of examinations and procedures by numerous specialists that had failed to detect the cancer, he requested the blood tests that showed an abnormal c-reactive protein level which finally led to scans that revealed the kidney cancer and enabled me to undergo surgery in time to save my life. Unfortunately, the cancer had already metastasized, but Dr. McMinn has managed my care through multiple courses of chemotherapy and immunotherapy to help me maintain a good quality of life since then. In addition to his medical knowledge, he is a patient, careful listener who is easy to talk to during office visits.

Dr. McMinn is the best! He has been my oncologist for 3 and a half years. I have had my ups and downs in that time and he is always so kind and really cares about my concerns. I truly feel my life and the quality of it, is as important to him as it is to me. His RN Barbara is awesome as well!

In our experience, Dr. McMinn lives up to his care philosophy to "deliver the most up to date, effective and compassionate care possible". He makes the time to hear and effectively communicate with his patient. When it comes to treating multiple myeloma, Dr. McMinn is wholeheartedly recommended!

Dr. McMinn is one of the most caring doctors I have ever known. He is my oncologist for the last almost 4 years now. If you need a question answered he would be the one to ask. I had some abnormal blood work that was not cancer. Dr McMinn has excellent bedside manner! Very compassionate to your concerns & confident that he can get to bottom of the issue. Truly listens to what you have to say. I would recommend him to anyone!
