I started the long haul of getting a laparoscopic gastric sleeve in June 2021. Along the way, i needed my gallbladder removed and he was excellent! Here i am just 20 days away from my big surgery with him to get my sleeve and although i am nervous, i feel comfortable and at ease knowing i have a great doctor and staff handling me and my situation.

Do your loved ones a favor and find another doctor. After a failed surgery and two more failed surgeries to fix the first one my mom hasn’t been able to eat for a year. Not even tube feed, And it’s not close to being over yet.

I saw Dr. Zografakis for GERD and trouble swallowing that has been untreatable/mysterious so far, after being referred to him by my primary care doctor. His PA prescribed tests, and he performed a procedure himself. Before and after the EGD he was incredibly dismissive of my concerns and made me very uncomfortable in the procedure room. I was crying before the anesthesia, as I have a phobia, and he was laughing AT me. The nurses seemed uncomfortable as well. The procedure didn't go as planned, so there were no results, and he told me to take the results of the tests the PA prescribed to another GI since he only did surgery (which no one told me beforehand!) after telling me first they were insignificant and then being contradicted by his PA who was concerned when I called the office. Overall, a terrible experience. I would not recommend him unless maybe you are getting routine care.

I can never get a call back, so I will never have a doctor review. I'd have to imagine that a doctor's office who can't return a call isn't going to get a 5 star review anyway. I'm disappointed as I really want Dr. Zografakis to be my doctor. Edited to Add: I eventually received a call back from a lovely gal who discussed my options with me. I also got a call from the manager in order to address the issues mentioned in this review and why they were occurring. I am now much more impressed and changed my review from 1 star to 4. He is one of the nicest doctors that I have ever worked with!! I have a LONG list of docs, but he is simply the best! He is so friendly and he answers all of your questions without making you feel rushed. He puts you at ease before procedures and is just awesome!! Highly recommend. ????

Dr Z is amazing! My husband was in severe pain and Dr Z went out of his way to get my husband's surgery the next day......also he has excellent bedside manner and is extremely compassionate. I would highly recommend Dr Z! I can not thank him enough!

Unfortunately I have had to have several abdominal surgeries. Dr Zog and staff have been great and I recovered well with their help.

Dr Z is wonderful surgeon who I would recommend to anyone who may need Bariatric sx. The whole bariatric group are well informed and will work with you all the way. The offices are all right together, clean and not very long waiting time. If you have questions all you need to do is call and they will get back in touch. I love this group and think any one who would not consider Summa Health Weight Management as the place to go is missing out.

Dr. Z did my hernia surgery on 9/10/2018 he is the best Dr. he explained everything to me and my husband. I would tell anyone he is a great Dr. He talks to you not at you and tells you everythings so you can understand. Thanks Dr. Z

I want to give a big thank you to Tina, I called two days after surgery with questions I had, she was on the phone until I was done with questions, she helped me out a lot. Z he is wonderful he is a people person great personality..he is very patient listens patiently to your thoughts and concerns does not make you feel rushed he is very knowledgeable he is up to date on procedures he done 2 procedures on me acid reflux repair and very large hernia by my lung he done a great job no problems/complications the surgery went great he truly cares about his patients and is a great surgeon I would definitely recommend dr. I was so scared to begin the program for weight loss with surgery. Dr. Z makes all decisions easy. Everything is explained clearly so that you can make your best choice. His team is top notch! You will learn so much about nutrition, exercise, phycological reasons for over eating. You will experience a community of like minded people who can be a great support. And when you are finished, you will find yourself, only better! I can not praise him or the program more.

Dr. Zografakis literally saved my life. I required emergency surgery and I'm extremely fortunate that he was in surgery that day and willing to add me to his schedule. Not just a wonderful surgeon but extremely personable and approachable. His staff and also the staff at Akron City Hospital were all first-rate - very attentive, friendly, upbeat, and professional. If you have to be in the hospital five days, as I was, I can't imagine being in better hands. I thank all of them.

He handled my gall bladder surgery and made me feel at ease and comfortable whe. I was extremely nervous.

Dr. Z is absolutely amazing!!! I'd recommend him to anyone. He's very personable and full of energy. He talks everything out with you and listens to your concerns. He's very encouraging and wants his patients to succeed. Great bedside manner.

Dr. Z was wonderful. The aftercare is what I'm concerned with. I had my surgery back in 2013. The doctors and staff were great. I'm not so sure about the new doctors and staff. When I got my surgery I thought I would have lifelong support. Well I've been calling the office for 3 weeks now and left at least 5 messages. I called the answering service tonight on a Sunday and they had the on call doctor call me. I told him I was gaining weight and no one will call me. He really didn't care and told me to call the office tomorrow. So he basically said no ones going to help me, because I've been calling already. So if you expect support after surgery don't go here. Let me be perfectly clear though Dr Z is wonderful. New doctor don't know his name started with a B was of no help. Dr. Z was wonderful. The aftercare is what I'm concerned with. Dr. Z is an amazing surgeon. Did a great job on my recent appendectomy. He explains everything well and takes his time with you. My wife and I have both had need of Dr. Z's services. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Dr.z. Is so amazing he did my surgery July 6. N i love it.

DR. Z performed Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric By-Pass Surgery in July of 2013. I went in weighing almost 300 pounds. With diabetes, high blood pressure and many other health issues. I was also a "walking pharmacy", taking all sorts of pills and other medication's. I now weigh 175 and fluctuate between that and 180 and have maintained that for almost 3 years now. No more diabetes, high blood pressure and other health issues that I previously had. I would recommend this for anyone who has health issues due to weight issue's, have tried many diets that did not work and just want to get and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It works! I thank Dr.Z. Thats my son's name, don't know why but my name is Kim, I went in on 4/4/16 to have my spleen removed because of my ovarian cancer in 2011 i had something growing and it was getting bigger ~ my cancer Dr. Recemended him and OMG I love him! Grest bed side manners followed up with phone calls, he went way be on his call of duty, and for that I thank him, such an up beat guy! And the best news is yet to come, it wasn't cancerous. Amazing surgeon!! And terrific bed side manor I truly felt like he cared about me and acted like a friend I've had for years, this man is an angel I had a right hemicolectomy on December 21st and was out in 3 days , I will go to this man everytime God for bid I need work done, God bless you Dr Zografakis.
