Great doctor. SportsMed has the process of seeing people on time figured out. Dr. Walker did spend time with me, listened well and figured out the likely cause. He treated the cause of my pain during the visit. Great compassion and care.

Dr. Walker, Nurse Regina and everyone else encountered at SportsMed went above and beyond to help mom during a difficult situation. She is feeling much better and we're thankful for the great care she received. We truly appreciate their kindness and compassionate professionalism!

Dr. Walker showed genuine interest and concern for me as an individual. Not only did he remember my visit with him in 2020, but he also mentioned a knee problem from over five years ago when another doctor was treating my knee. I felt he was thorough in examining my hands and I appreciated his conservative recommendation for treatment. He showed familiarity with my case and was not glued to a computer (so refreshing!)even took time to ask about my retirement life. I highly recommend Dr. Walker.

I broke my wrist a week ago while out of town. Because of the weather here I couldn’t get in to see Dr Walker until Thursday afternoon and was in surgery 24-hrs later. Who else would have made that happen?!

I have always had superior care and service at SportsMed. My visit on Tuesday 12/27/22 was no exception. Everything from checkin to the doctor performing an in-office procedure were executed very professionally and efficiently. A FIVEStar facility !!

Dr Walker is a great doctor! He is not only a fantastic surgeon but he is very genuine and compassionate with his patients and treats everyone (staff and patients) with respect.

Dr. Walker is so kind. He takes time to listen to his patients in order to provide the best care possible. He doesn’t run in the room for a minute or two & dash out. I’m very pleased with my visit & experience at SportsMed

I appreciate that there was not much time between my being shown my room and meeting Dr. Walker. He answered my questions completely without talking "down". It was a positive experience.

Dr Walker did my surgery and didn't leave a scar. He listens to you and works with you. I've seen him for other issues and he gives you options. He is not quick to cut you.

Dr Walker and all of his staff are excellent at what they do. I would recommend Dr Walker to anyone needing hand surgery

I am a part-time occupational therapist performing hand therapy at SportsMed. A large amount of referrals come to us from Dr. Walker. When I dislocated my elbow while on a trip abroad, Dr. Walker was my first choice to visit for my own ortho needs. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone!

He was very kind and personable. Didn’t make me feel rushed at all. He knew probably as soon as he saw my wrist what it was . He gave me a pamphlet about the condition and explained the injury and surgical treatment possibility, if the steroid shot treatment didn’t help. He gave me a shot. I am having great results with the injection I received from Dr Walker.

Dr. Walker and his staff were amazing. I just wish I had gone there earlier.

Been a patient of Dr Walker since 2000 - he has ALWAYS been very professional, extremely knowledgeable and a joy to visit!

Dr Walker and staff are by far the best medical team I’ve had my entire life. He has successfully replace both of my thumbs two years a part. Just started therapy today. I am definitely impressed not only with this skills but his friendliness and bedside manner is like none I have ever experienced.

Dr. Walker was ok however his staff runs his office. I only saw him twice for each of my carpal tunnel surgeries. He released me back to work full duty at the the recommendation of his NP even though I had no use of my thumbs. He said there wasn't anything he could do for me. His NP runs his office and unprofessionally at that. His office gal was also unprofessional. She hassled me everytime she had to fill out my paperwork, even though she was paid for it each time. I would NEVER go back or refer anyone to go there. Thank God, I got a second opinion and found someone that would listen and take the time to do more xrays and tests in order to help me. I have used Dr. Walker for years. I live in Birmingham but he is well worth the drive. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with treating my hands. Dr. Walker and his staff are knowledgeable, compassionate and truly care about their patients.

Dr walker is amazing! He is really helping me out

Dr. Walker made a surgical repair to a digital nerve laceration on my left thumb. He did an excellent job describing the procedure and long term effects if the laceration was left untreated. Recovery is going excellent and the outlook for nerve regrowth is very positive.

Dr. Walker has a wonderful bedside manner. He was very thorough and listened to my concerns. I appreciated his conservative approach to treatment. My only regret was not going to see him sooner! I highly recommend Dr. Walker and his entire staff. They were all very kind and professional from start to finish.

The front office staff has been kind and helpful. Dr. Walker has always listened to my story and concerns. He explains everything he is doing and what your next steps are if original plan doesn't work. He has done a great job on both De Quervain releases(right and left). I have been very pleased with the process. Tonya (Dr. Walker's PA?) is very sweet and explains everything to make sure you understand. She is quick with what she needs to do which makes you not think about what she is doing--in my case, taking off wrapping and stitches out. She is easy to talk with. My only bad point is the wait time at the Athens office. It hasn't changed from 7 years ago when he was coming 2-3 times a week versus 1 now. I understand there are a lot of people that want to see the best; however I get there early being mindful of his time, please be mindful of mine. The front office staff has been kind and helpful. My first time to see Dr. Walker, very detail oriented concerning my problem, I will see him again if another issue arises.

Dr. Walker takes the time to communicate the diagnosis, the treatment and expected outcome of the services he provided.

Dr. Walker was very understanding of my feelings as he walked me through the procedure and the decision I had to make quickly. All is well now. Sports Med has returned to me my quality of life. Thanks Doc

I knew when my left hand and elbow got worse that Dr Walker was who I wanted to see for those issue; because of my wonderful experience with him years before when he did my right wrist!
