Dr. John E. Pratte

If you need a dreaded ROOT CANAL, you'd be well-advised to see Dr. Pratte. He is, by my personal experience and the expressed recommendation of collegues, the GOLD STANDARD endodontist in the San Gabriel Valley. Just days ago, my #30 molar was ravaged by a local dentist. I was left w/ 10 out of 10 pain, and needing corrective endodontistry. Our hygienist and oral surgeon suggested I call Dr. Pratte, who made time the next day; explained a reasonable course of action; skillfully relieved the pain; completely fixed the problem, over 2 sittings; and did so professionally, without trashing the dentist who botched the job. Separately, to "traumatized" patient below, who gave a one-star rating, wouldn't you rather wait for the anesthesia to take full effect than risk the pain of an ultra-sonic drill? Whether or not "traumatize" actually waited 2 hours, is debatable. But honestly, and knowing what I now know, if the DR. PRATTE said wait, I'd do so to GET THE OPTIMAL RESULT!

I was referred to Dr Pratte for front tooth mobility (25) . He proceeded to perform root canal on the tooth which is loose! To my surprise after visiting another dentist they were very surprised why he performed root canal on a loose tooth. Sure enough the tooth has to come out now! He was great! I had 2 root canals and a crown removed and decay removed. I had no pain. He does quality work and I am so glad I went to him. His office staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend his services.

Dr. Pratte and his team are the best. Root canals are not fun, but they are so good at what they do, that I felt totally comfortable and taken care of. I had to have one in a tooth with a crown and the crown remained in tact. He is very responsive with off hours help and knows what he's doing. Don't mess around with this procedure, get it done by someone who is well-experienced. And Dr. Pratte is that person. Dr. Pratte and his team are the best. Does not care about patient concerns. Tooth still hurts and he will not redo the job as another dentist recommended. Might lose tooth. Still painful..

Dr Pratte worked me in on an emergency basis and did a very good job with diagnosis and in performing a root canal through a crown. He was kind and competent. I’ve seen a complaint elsewhere about his pricing bit I thought it was reasonable for a Southern CA dentist at this level of quality.

Traumatic experience, unfortunately he tends to leave his patients for over almost 2 hours sitting on the chair with the excuse that the anaesthetic needs to make effect. He does know what he is doing, but he doesn't care about patients time at all. Second time there and I wish I could not go back ever more . Stay away

Dr. Pratte helped me tremendously. He and his staff were so nice, so kind. This was my first root canal, and the procedure was less painful than a regular filling. I was so surprised! They worked me in, and even though it was late in the day, he and his staff were still so gracious and kind. His office runs well. I have had to get two root canals in one month! Both were painless! In fact, I was in severe pain prior to coming in. The office fit me in and Dr. Pratt got me out of pain Right away. He has a gentle touch and the office is warm & friendly. If you have to get a root canal...and I've had 7, this is the place to go!

Best endodontist

Dr Pratte is the best Endodontics Specialist I have found after living 10 years in the area. I had a badly broken tooth and he saved not only the tooth but also its pulp.
