John Gordon Phillips

Ignored my presenting problem and medical history in favor of a cookie- cutter treatment plan. Several years later, I am left with new problems arising from treatment while my original problem remains unresolved. He can execute a procedure well but lacks critical thinking in his diagnosis.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Phillips, he is a very compassionate caring person. He helped me in a very unsettling time of need with my nose. I have an absolute fear of anyone touching/looking up my nose. Due to multiple hemorrhaging nose bleeds, I was forced to make an emergency appointment to see an ENT and I saw Dr. Phillips, he was the one was SO VERY patient and kind to me that day, he helped ease my fears. Also, Dr. Phillips went above and beyond when he responded to an inquiry I had sent via MyChart, instead of replying via MyChart, he reached out by phone, to personally talk with me to address my inquiry, he truly is an amazing Dr./human. I wish every Dr. could be as caring and compassionate as Dr. Phillips has been with me!

Dr Phillips did not listen to my symptoms and refused to perform the test I needed. He insisted my condition was something it had been proven not to be. When I tried to set up a second appointment his assistant refused to make an appointment. I tried to contact him over MyChart and he ignored my messages. He then black listed me so I could not get help from other ENTs. It has been a year and I have still not received treatment and my condition continues to worsen.

I have been seeing Dr. Phillips since April of last year with fluid behind ear drum and a pulsating beat in that ear. Dr. Phillips is the most thorough and caring Dr. I have seen. He is determined to find my problem, and has left no stone unturned. Wish there were more Drs. like him. I like his personality very much. I have recommended my daughter to see Dr. Phillips with sinus problems.

The doctor was treating him poorly and talking to us like we are idiots. He wanted to order an MRI for my son and I asked for the referral to be sent to the place that our insurance covers better, that set him off on fire and went off talking to me in very unprofessional tone of voice and then left the office without telling us if he is coming back. My son got upset the way Dr spoke to us and he decided go leave the office. In the hallway there was a doctor on his way back to the office and asking sarcastically if my son is going to use a bathroom. My son told him that he is leaving and he is not appreciative his tone of voice talking to us especially the way Dr spoke to me. The doctor again said sarcastically :Ok have a good day". Then I told him that he is very rude. He waved again and said "mam you are dismissed". We requested to see a manager so we can make a complaint and we did. Dr Phillips is some of those people that gives bad names to the hospitals and people that are in such an honorable field. But I hope all patients are familiar with their rights and that they always have someone to go to and report inappropriate behavior and bad bed side manners of personnel like Dr Phillips is. I researched on an ENT in the area and was impressed with his credentials. My visit went very well and I agree with his premise that we look at the immediate and whole picture of what I was experiencing. I am extremely pleased with his professionalism and patient bedside manner!! Will refer any who need an ENT. It was a very refreshing experience!! I have had chronic sinusitis, major headaches, and general allergy issues. I could not speak more highly of Dr. Phillips and his amazing staff.I had to have surgery, best decision. I have never felt more cared for and respected as a patient. I would sing their praises all day. The office is efficient and patient centered.

The worst bed side manners I have seen in my life. He talked down to us, very unprofessional and left the office very abruptly talking down to us. We made complaint about it and after stating all facts that took a place, hospital is waving charges for the appointment we've had. Now, we didn't get a chance to see much of the office staff friendliness due to Dr behavior. Dr Phillip's is definitely one of those people that gives a bad name to honorable medical field and the staff.

I have never written a review before, good or bad, however, I felt compelled to write this review. My primary physician made a referral to Dr Phillips at my request. I have been plagued with sinus and vertigo issues for a period of time and have never gotten a true understanding of the possible problem. After much research, I decided Dr Phillips was the ENT I would like to see. Yesterday, I received a call from my primary physician telling me my request had been denied. The explanation I received was they didn’t think they could help me and it would take a long time to get an appointment, however, they suggested I try another ENT group in Greenville. Obviously, this very active, healthy 70 year old with good insurance was not worthy of their services. Dr. Phillips performed a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy on our minor daughter. He took extra care with her to make her feel at ease. Her surgery went very well. She is doing wonderfully now. We would recommend Dr. Phillips to family and friends without question!

He is a dedicated profesional, thorough and doesn't stop until a proper diagnosis is obtained and always follows up to ensure treatment is effective. As a bonus he and his staff are as good as I have ever dealt with!

We have trusted our entire family to Dr. Phillips . He has done an excellent job and I would recommend him to everyone!
