Dont know him personally but as my surgeon, the best! Fusion in 2005 and although I am still unable to touch my chin to my chest, it gets close and my side to side range is great. 18 years and no issues. I did as recommended and didnt baby my self after surgery... Thank you Dr J!

Dr. Marouk and his team saved my legs! Literally, I could not walk, but he identified the issue quickly (with less than an hour after MRI was completed) and rapidly prepared for surgery. Smart, decisive, and immensely skilled surgeon. Highly recommend Dr Marouk and his team!!

Seems like a great doctor, but good luck trying to make an appointment. Office never answers the phone and will not return your calls. I will be calling now for the third time to try to be seen. Dr Marouk save my husbands life. Due to an injury his spinal cord was severely compressed. Before his neck surgery we were told There was a possibility that he could wake up a quadriplegic and may lose his ability to speak. Surgery was a complete success! He is completely recovered. The office staff were all very professional and courteous.

Saw him a few years ago and still waiting for the feeling to come back in my hand after carpal tunnel surgery. Have very limited use of it now. Would not recommend to anyone

I have got to say Dr. Marouk still hasn't disappointed me.... He has performed all 3 of my back surgeries my very first one was in 2006 and my last one was recently 2021. Every time has been a huge success, so much so that I don't even take pain meds.... His staff is always so friendly and super helpful. I wouldn't want any other place!!! Dr Marouk is the best I came to him in a lot of pain from several years and he got me so much better after surgery that other Dr could not fix I owe him so much. He is so polite and attentive to your needs thank you again for getting me on the right track to recovery

Had to have screws put into my lumbar5 because of spine was moving. After 8 months the screws was backing out so he went back in and took them out. And 5 years later had to go to another back surgeon because the fusion did not work. I have more pain than before he operated. When I complained about the pain he acted like I didn't have any. His office help was terrible. I would not recommend him.

Had a very positive experience with Dr Marouk. I have chronic C-spine pain cased by 3 budging discs. He took extreme time to review my films in detail with me and then suggested a very conservative approach to treating my condition without surgery. Found him to be compassionate and caring towards me in addressing my current condition.

He did surgery on my mother's glioblastoma (golf ball sized). Told us right in front of her that she had about 3 months to live, which is the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. She did live exactly 3 months. It is cruel to discuss such serious, deadly prognosis in front of the patient. He also recommended my mother be restrained to the bed to prevent picking at her surgery wounds. There are ways to prevent wound damage without using restraints, such as gloves that prevent flexing of the fingers or gripping. He did the best he could with moms surgery. I appreciate his

Dr Marouk should not have a license to practice medicine period. He does not take his oath seriously. He does not care for his patients, he only cares about his pay checks. He has caused me so much pain and basically ruined my life, but I doubt he will lose any sleep at night. If you enjoy not being in pain, definitely use a different doctor

I would not recommend him to anyone. Had 2 surgeries on the lumbar 5 the 2nd one because of screws coming out. And 8 months later he released me. And I have major pain and can't hardly walk. Another surgeon won't touch me. I can't work and on disability. His staff suck. The lumbar 5 is pinching the muscles and nerves. And now with the laws I have a hard time getting pain medicine. 3 different surgeons say its really bad. I would not recommend him to anyone. I had several friends and family recommend Dr Marouk to me and now I know why. He is very caring and is the very best neurosurgeon! I'm so glad he performed my ACDF surgery!

Dr. Marouk saved my daughter's life, she had a very serious head injury in 2012. She was 10 years old, he preformed emergency surgery on her to stop a bleed in her brain and correct her severe fractured skull. I thank god for him everyday.

Our daughter has a TBI and initially had a neurosurgeon that had poor communication skills, terrible bedside manner, arrogant, and narcessistic. Dr. Marouk is the opposite of all that along with a great skill set, very empthetic, and he takes the time to communicate which he does very well. On Jan. 29th (2019) Dr. John Marouk removed not only the majority of my mom's brain tumor but also treated her hydrocephalus through placement of an EVD and Chiari Malformation by removing a small portion of skull! I absolutely love Dr. Marouk! His bedside manner was wonderful, he was great at explaining things to mom so she could understand and took great care of her! When he worked on her he didn't know/care if she had insurance so I think some of these reviews are Bullsh*t. As a nurse I can say that not all docs treat WC Cases and they have the right to chose not to. Highly recommend! I was so determined to not have surgery, he let me try to get better for 1 year. Multiple rounds of PT, tons of pain and cane dependant. I finally gave up and had cervical surgery. He told me he would improve my life 100% and he did! Almost 3 months post surgery...I don't have a third leg and feel better than I did before my injury 16 months ago. Very happy with my surgeon. He is thorough and cares about his patients. Nurses and office staff are just on point with call backs and reminders. I wish my primary was like this!

MRI showed a mass next to the spinal cord on L4 & L5. Met with Dr. Marouk on Monday and surgery was scheduled Thursday. Mass was removed and spinal fusion on the L4 & L5. Everything went well. Dr. Marouk is very skilled and has a very nice personality. We have been to his office twice. The first time only 5 minute wait, but on the followup visit a little longer. This is because Dr. Marouk will listen to the patient and answer any & all questions. I would highly recommend this neurosurgeon if you reside near Tulsa. Very caring doctor & highly skilled. All the faith in the world in this man. I was injured. Could feel from the middle of my chest down. Scared to death. He shot straight with me. Treated my wife with respect with discussing my injury. Personally visited me every day while in the hospital. Almost three month out from surgury. Went from not being able to stand to using a walker now. I was so blessed to have this man as my neurosurgeon. I can without a doubt say. I would not be where I am today. I am so thankful .

Dr. Marook performed surgery on my father today and we couldn't have been happier with the results. It was a tricky operation and one only done a few times per year here locally. My father need a pituitary adenoma removed and it's a difficult surgery due to the size of the adenoma (think lemon) and it's location. The surgery was performed in about 4 hours and the results couldn't have been better. Dr. Marook was so kind in explaining the procedure and made my mother feel at peace. Thank you Dr M

The MRI showed a mass next to the spinal cord on L4 & L5. Met with Dr. Marouk on Monday & surgery scheduled Thursday. Dr. Marouk was confident he could perform this surgery but it is not a common one with the mass next to the spinal cord. Dr Marouk is very skilled and Steve came thru surgery & is recovering at this time (13 days ago). Every person we spoke with in the "waiting" area and the staff at the surgical hospital praised Dr. Marouk. Not only is he skilled but very nice to work with.

This was a while ago, but I will never forgive him and his office staff for leaving me in a room while he went to the bank to make a deposit. I had an 8:00 appointment, and they didn't even open the doors until 8:15. Then I sat in the room for 45 minutes while he went to the bank. I finally saw the doc and then I had to deal with his office staff who had incredibly poor attitudes. When I mentioned that I'd been sitting in a room while the doctor ran errands, they basically said too bad, and I was lucky to have an appointment at all. Then they told me --didn't ASK me--when the next appointment was going to be. In no way is this acceptable. I'll travel to Oklahoma City if I have to, but there is no way I'll deal with this doctor or his staff again. Horrible care and staff

I saw Dr. Marouk for severe pain I have from ruptured discs and moderate to severe foraminal stenosis at multiple levels. Our original plan was to do an ACDF from c3 to c6. Dr. Marouk changed plans without discussing it with me AT ALL. I was told by his nurses that he would explain it to me before the surgery. He never called me to discuss it and he never discussed it at the hospital. In fact the had me knocked out before we got to the OR. I still have the same pain. DO NOT TRUST MAROUK

Dr Marouk not only took the time to listen to our concerns regarding our teenage daughter, he kept her needs as the priority. Thanks to his tenacity our daughter received the proper diagnosis and follow up care. We found him to be genuine, caring, and professional.
