Dr. Liu and his team at Keck USC are amazing. After fighting on and off back pain for several years I woke up one day in Jan of 2019 and could hardly move. The pain was an 8 for 24 hrs/day. Couldn't sit or lie down for relief. Not knowing what was going on I went for the MRI at my local network doctors office and referred to the in network neurologist. This place was a mess and I felt like I was in a cattle call. The doctor finally saw me for 10 min, looked at the MRI and immediately scheduled me for a fusion. He never so much as asked any questions about my life and goals post surgery. I just wasn't comfortable with feeling like a # with the seriousness of having fusion. Thank god my niece was working at Keck USC and recommended Dr. Liu. From the 1st consult I paid cash for he was so different wanting to understand who I was as a person, my physical goals, etc. Although it took me a year to change from a HMO to PPO to get coverage at Keck with Dr. Liu, it was worth

Dr. Liu performed surgery on me to remove a large tumor that was enveloping my spinal cord when I was 20 years old. The tumor was so invasive that it was causing neurological symptoms that would have ultimately lead me to become paralyzed within a matter of months. The surgery was a complete success and the tumor was removed in its entirety, with no need for radiation. The neurological symptoms I experienced prior to surgery have been in large measure, eliminated. Aside from being widely known as one of the best surgeons in the world, what sets Dr. Liu apart from other world class surgeons is his genuine investment in the well-being of his patients which is apparent when you speak with him. WOW, my daughter can stand for hours now!! My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with two herniated discs, and in so much pain she couldn't stand up for more than 5 minutes due to excruciating pain running down her leg. After several pain management attempts, months and months of trying to fix the herniation with physical therapy (very helpful regardless of not fixing the problem) we decided to take the surgical route for our young daughter. It was not a decision made without much angst and fear, but ultimately, was our only choice as her life was deteriorating quickly. Dr. Liu was extremely knowledgeable and put my husband and I at ease with his knowledge, professionalism, and track record. It is the most scary thing in the world to turn your child over to another, trusting their life in another's hands. We could not have chosen better hands to put her into. Dr. Liu's hands are magical hands!! Two months after her surgery, our daughter is taking hour long walks, working out on her elliptical, and even able to start taking not too inclined hikes, life is returning. She can now go out with friends again, socially distanced, and walk on the beach, dip in the ocean, and feel as though she once again is "normal." She is feeling fantastic. Our family can never thank Dr. Liu and his amazing team enough for giving our daughter back her life. Forever grateful. WOW, my daughter can stand for hours now!! After struggling seriously for three years I made the decision to seek out a surgical alternative. Like anyone facing spine surgery it is frightening. Dr Liu and his team are great and well worth any drive into LA or Beverly Hills. I used USC Keck as my surgery hospital and they were top notch and hit all the quality and customer service TO DOs. As soon as I came out of surgery in the recovery room the throbbing pain was gone. Dr Lui did not over promise but did all the testing to know what was needed and went with a conservative approach. I can't recommend him more highly.

I highly recommend Dr. Liu. He was the third surgeon I saw for my neck and he had the most holistic, conservative approach. He wanted to be sure that surgery was the last option. Ultimately, I did have to have surgery, which was a complete success, but I am glad that we explored all the options. He was always patient, courteous, and made sure to answer all my questions. I was referred to Dr.Liu by two physician friends. He is the Co-Director of the USC Keck Spine surgery. I have had two previous spine surgeries and only surgery could stop the sciatic pain I had and the other spinal issues. I saw four surgeons, neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Liu had the finest clinical backgrounds. He was personable, professional and caring. He tried to alleviate pain with non-servical interventions but only surgery would do it. He performed two surgeries.

Dr. Liu was the third surgeon I spoke to and he had the best, most holistic approach. I did ultimately have surgery which was a complete success, but he tried to help me avoid surgery as long as possible. He was always patient, courteous, and made sure he answered all of my questions.

I really like Dr. Liu and his team. He is very conservative with his approach. I have been to a lot of back specialist in my life and Dr. Liu is the only one I ever let do surgery on me. I drive all the way from Thousand Oaks so I can see Dr. Liu

I had a previous back surgery from a diffrent surgeon. I was in chronic pain for months. I finally got in to see Dr Liu and he did another back surgery. This was the best decision I ever made. I have no pain and am off all medication. I'm back to running and exercising. I can't thank him enough. He Truly saved my life and am so thankful I went to him. He is an excellent doctor and I highly recommend him !
