Dr. John Patrick Johnson

When two previous back surgeries by the leading neurosurgeons in our hometown still left me with severe lower back pain, I took my internist’s advice. He told me to make the trip to LA and consult with Dr. Patrick Johnson and his team, because “that’s where we send all our difficult cases”. Dr. Johnson lived up to his reputation. He found the problem and fixed it. Now 3 months out, I am pain free.

I was unable to sit for more than 20 minutes without severe pain due to two deteriorated discs at different levels on my spine. After consulting with three other surgeons, I met with Dr. Johnson. I was in trouble. My walking was spastic and balance was way off kilter. I went to see a Hoag surgeon who wanted to put a plate in my head and don the back of my neck. I saw three other surgeons before seeing Dr Johnson. He took his time and reviewed my MRI one vertebrae at a time and stated that nothing there could be causing the problems I exhibited. He ordered a thoracic mri which detected an 80% cord pinch at T9. Two weeks later he conducted surgery orthoscopically and removed the herniation. I was walking straight the next morning. I also had major pinches at C5-6 which he later fixed for me. He is the best.

I am not just Dr. Johnson's Physician Assistant, I am his patient as well. I have had the honor and pleasure to work alongside Dr. Johnson since 2005. When I recently required lumbar surgery there was no one else I would trust with my spine and after a 4 level decompression, I was able to return to work after 10 days and am truly grateful that I am able to walk again. Dr. Johnson is a truly gifted surgeon and diagnostician who does what is best for each patient.
