About Dr. John Jenkins
Reviews for Dr. John Jenkins
We were referred here for follow up care after my wife hurt her back. Not able to talk to anyone because nobody answers the phone. Ended up taking her to the ER in apopka for treatment and then admission. Customer service is non existent here from our experience.
1st time I met doctor Jenkins he was very nice seemed to care about me. I am a worker's comp case Most doctors in Florida don't seem to care too much about the injured employee they care more about the employer. He ordered C t's from my back We will see what happens then. This is part one so far awesomeness
Dr. Jenkins went above and beyond for my Dad. He is a fantastic surgeon and I would highly recommend him.
Dr john jenkens. Took my wife to see him after 2 ct scans 1 xray was turned down for surgery. Said there was nothing he could do. I dont think he even looked at the written report. Not a good surgion because he dont care enough to look the paper work.
Easy to get to, access to good parking, very clean and spacious waiting room, got in right on time. That's why we drive an hour and a half to get there.
Dr. Jenkins and staff were great. They were very open to communicating and answered all of my questions. I would recommend him over and over again.
Dr Jenkins is very professional and caring BUT his coordinating staff is not. They border on rude. They do not return phone calls. They are dismissive. Tammara Smith is a good example. She could care less about a patients needs or troubles. She is more interested in her lunch menu than doing her job making appointments or answering phone calls. Dr Jenkins could do much better.
Can’t thank Dr Jenkins enough for taking care of my dad. Staff was very helpful and friendly
No doubt he is a great doctor , but his people skill leave so much to desire for is like he has 2 personalities one is very good one is so poor he just has no time for compassion nor human touch he comes to do surgery that's all
My experience with this doctor him showed me that he is inconsiderate and a racist on top of it all.
My stepfather had an appointment this morning with Dr. Jenkins. The scheduled appointment was for 9:00am and the doctor didn’t appear until 11:00am. He never mentioned or apologized for his late arrival. He cursorily reviewed my stepdad’s records, quickly performed a basic examination and said he couldn’t find the source of his chronic pain and therefore could do nothing for him. We are very disappointed. My stepfather had an appointment this morning with Dr. Jenkins. The scheduled appointment was for 9:00am and the doctor didn’t appear until 11:00am. He is a wonderful doctor!!! He saved my life 2years ago!
Dr Jenkins preformed back surgery on me in 2016. While I agree that his bedside manner leaves a great deal to be desired, he relieved the unbearable pain I had been enduring. He is a brilliant surgeon, but not a touchy feely kind of guy. Expect a good surgical outcome, but not your new best friend.
Per John Jenkins he performed a fusion in my neck C1 thru C3 (2012) and C6 and C7 (2018). I was under the impression as I was informed that after surgery I would have some discomfort and I would loose 40% of my mobility in my neck. Due to the fact I was already in pain I thought it must be better than what I am expericing now. However, that is not the case. As of today, 02/07/19 I still have pain and maybe more than before with sore muscles and the aching pain from the neck, shoulders and upper
He performed 2 surgeries on my mom within a 24 hour period for a hemorrhagic stroke. He is an honest no nonsense man. My mother didn’t have a great prognosis in the beginning but after Dr Jenkins’ intervention she is doing very well in a rehab center and is coming home in 10 days. Thanks for saving my mom.
Amazing surgeon and wonderful staff!!! Couldn't have asked for anything better!!!

The only reason I am not rating him 5 stars if because of how hard it is to communicate with his staff. I went to see Dr. Jenkins because i had chronic lower back pain radiating down my left leg. Once i confirmed he took my insurance I took my docs to the office and hand delivered them, it took his assistant about a week to review and give me a call back when she did call back i had an appt within a few days. When I arrived i waited about 15 mins filling out papers and pics then i was in to see the nurse, i gave them the list of meds but when he came in to see me the nurse didnt hand it to him so have it with you when you speak to him. He was very professional asked my history how i came about this situation he listened without interruption. I recommend you have all your questions and questions about surgery and post surgery with you the day you see him. He answered all my questions without rush but once i stopped asking them he moved on rather quickly. when he did his examination he was aware of my pain and didnt push me harder than i was able. He quickly advised me like 2 other drs had already advised that I need surgery. He made a remark as to why i hadnt already had surgery because i was suffering needlessly, but that was not a remark at me but at the drs i had encountered previously in the er. Basically he said my case should have been taken care of immediately. This made me feel better because he understood how much pain i was in. Once i asked all my questions, he scheduled my surgery for 2 days out. Due to insurance issues i had to wait a few more days but he made sure his staff was aware that my situation was STAT and i really appreciate that. Pre surgery i was sent to register at hospital. His staff did not advise this would be a 2 hour appt. During registration they go through blood work and a lot of other things depending on your situation you see and internal med dr who makes recommendations you can also discuss questions with them. The day of surgery they tell you not to take anything from midnight before even pain pills but the anesthesiologist advised me that he didnt understand why they say that, he said take your pain pills (oxycodone only) we dont want you in pain waiting for op. Dr jenkins saw me explained again what we were doing asked if i had any other questions confirmed if i was staying overnight or not I recommend you stay overnight. and surgery was successful. I am still in pain it was expected due to the severity of my condition but i have function back and that is a blessing so it will be a slow recovery. Oh he did come see me the next day in the hospital before discharge he answered more questions and set up PT. Overall Dr jenkins is a 5 star surgeon to me. Hes not sweet or bubbly hes straightforward and professional, most surgeons are not sweet and bubbly anyway but this is my second surgeron and he was by far exceeded the first guy. The only reason I am not rating him 5 stars if because of how hard it is to communicate with his staff. I went to see Dr. Jenkins because i had chronic lower back pain radiating down my left leg. I had a bad fall and broke the C5 vertebra and suffered ligament damage. Dr. Jenkins did the surgery and installed a plate. Recovery involved little or no pain and went smoothly. I had some prior neck problems, from years earlier, and they seem to have been alleviated. That is, I have better movement of my head and neck. All I can say is Dr. Jenkins knows what he's doing and is an excellent surgeon. That's been my experience and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
At my initial appointment I was told that there was nothing Dr. Jenkins could do for me. He didn't have to schedule an appointment to tell me that; he had my diagnostic reports, he could have called me. About the only thing he did do in the 5 minutes that he spent with me is act totally condescending and rude. He gets 5 stars for being the most obnoxious physician I have ever been to.

The only reason I am not giving him 5 stars is due to how hard it is to communicate with his staff... saw Dr. Jenkins because for lower back pain radiating down to my left leg. Barely able to walk, appt setup quick after they get all the docs.Surgery appt quick. When you see him have all your q's written down he answers them all but he moves fast. surgery was successful, i still have pain it was expected my case was severe. Overall I think he was professional and straightforward.

I was referred by my PCP. Before an appt. was made I had to send records, including office notes, test results, and info on procedures done by my pain management specialist. I spent about 5 minutes with Dr. Jenkins to be told my case wasn't surgical and maybe the pain management doctor could figure something out. If he had bothered looking at the provided docs his office could have called and let me know he couldn't help instead of wasting my time and money on a useless appointment.

Dr Jenkins saved my life! I owe that man everything! If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be alive! He removed a very large tumor from my brain. He's very knowledgeable and I trust this doctor!

this Doctor refused to see me without any explanation given. It was his assistant who gave me a guess at why. Reason guessed was that I had been operated by another doctor 2 years earlier. His refusal has delayed a much need back surgery which my previous surgeon can't do because of insurance accepted.
