Mr. John Thomas Camp

I have been using Dr Camp for almost 20 years. He has treated me for everything from trigger fingers to replacing the radial head when I fell and broke it off to rotator cuff surgery and carpel tunnel. I have never had any complications and would not consider using anyone else for upper extremities. There are some things he does not do, however, and has no problem referring to someone else and I trust him to send me to the best if that becomes necessary.

Dr. Camp did surgery on both of my hands and he provides excellent surgical and post-surgery care. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Dr Camp came highly recommended by my RA doctor. He was very detailed about what my surgery would be. His office staff was very kind and explained all things preop and post op.

Excellent visit. Dr. Camp was cordial and very easy to talk to. Very through and his communication to me about my issue was clear and concise. Would highly recommend him to anyone. .

Great doctor with a good bedside manner. Listens to his patients and their needs.

Dr. John Camps nurse called me to schedule my surgery. She went over all my medication that I currently take and let me know which ones I needed to stop before surgery. When she realized it was heart medication she suggested that I call my heart doctor to let her know that I was having surgery. Gave me MY DOCTORS number so I would not have to look it up. lol 30 minutes later Dr. Camps nurse called me back and said my heart doctor wants me to have a stress test first, and to call her and set that up. 15 minutes later Dr. Camps nurse called me back and said she took the liberty to save me trouble and she went ahead and set up my stress test. WOW. That was so nice to have one office contact the other because 2 years ago when I was having heart trouble I also was having gallbladder trouble and neither would talk to the other and it was very difficult (4 months) to get the necessary surgeries scheduled.

Dr. Camp is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor. He explained what was going on in simple terms.

Reviewed x rays and examined hand to demonstrate areas with issues. Provided preliminary diagnosis and ordered additional tests in order to confirm diagnosis. Also provided written materials, prescription, and exercises to help recovery.

I had the best care from start to finish the day of my surgery. I’m so thankful for Dr Camp and his great abilities! He’s the Best!

My visit with Dr. Camp went well. I came away understanding why I was having pain and what surgery he will do to fix my hand.

Dr. Camp did an excellent job in examining, diagnosing and explaining my problems with my hand. I was very comfortable with him and enjoyed my visit very much.

Dr. Camp has been doing hand surgeries on me since 2012. All my surgeries have been successful & it is so nice to be out of pain. Dr. Camp listens & doesn’t rush with his patients. He has always answered my questions until I understand exactly what is going to be done & after five hand surgeries I still go back to Dr.Camp. He is a genuine person that is concerned for his patients. He is a 5 star Doctor! Tyler, Tx. is lucky to have him.

Dr. Camp and his entire Staff were excellent and truly professional. I had surgery on my left hand to relieve a case of TF. Everyone- including the staff in the pre op, and recovery were exceptional. They made my wife and myself very comfortable and were easy to speak to and understand.

Friendly, professional, caring

I had an excellent surgery with Dr Camp. Due to Covid lung I was unable to be sedated and so my surgery wasn't looking hopeful. Dr Camp was willing to try a Beir Block and it was wonderfully successful. I got to stay awake for the surgery and so I was able to leave the hospital fairly quickly after it was done. I'd highly recommend Dr Camp if you need a carpal tunnel syndrome surgery. I had an excellent surgery with Dr Camp. Dr Camp and April are so friendly and helpful. They put me right at ease and celebrated the success of my surgeries right along with me. I am pain free in my hands for the 1st time in years!! Will definitely recommend him to others with confidence.

Best hand doctor in East Texas!

Dr Camp did a wonderful job on my wrist. He was very professional and personable.

I have been impressed with the efficiency of this office especially as I compare to other Dr Offices I’ve been in over the years. Absolutely the best ever for me, very little wait time.

Everyone at Azalea is friendly, kind and respectful without even a little bit of condescension, like I've seen at other medical offices. I was a patient of Dr. Camp a few years ago, and I couldn't trust anyone more with my hands. This recent visit just reinforced my already high opinion of him. His staff is just as wonderful. Very professional & informative

My visit was very professional and Dr. Camp was very thorough when explaining what procedure he would use to treat my elbow and hand.

Dr. Camp completed very complex surgery on my wrist. He is an excellent surgeon who listens to his patients & explains clearly the procedure he is going to perform. In follow-up appointments, he is very personable and caring which is a comfort to his patients.

Very well received and courtesy in every way .

Everything was highly professional in every way, all office personnel, nursing staff, anesthaticians and recovery staff as well as doctor Camp were just the best! Friendly, efficient and informative as well as caring and compassionate. Prescriptions were called in ahead of time to my pharmacy for early pick up and my husband was well informed and waiting for me out front to pick me up after hand surgery. I was lucky to be there! Dr. Camp performed surgery on both of my hands; they now work as designed again. Dr. Camp was warm, honest, and open about the surgery - I would not hesitate to strongly recommend him to anyone who needs hand surgery. EVERYONE, the staff, nurses and the doctors were very caring, gave very good explanations of what was involved in the surgery and what to do after surgery!!! Would not go to any other doctor or hospital!!! Dr. Camp did my trigger finger surgery in May of this year. He looked at my hand when he marked it for surgery and could not find the where the incisions were from the trigger finger surgery!! I am extremely pleased with everything aboutt the Azalea Group!!! Excellent hand surgeon and very considerate of patients need for explaining treatment as well as options and expectations for recovery. I have had surgery on one hand and due for other hand. Excellent recovery and complete confidence for next surgery.

Dr Camp was very thorough and explained everything in a way I understood my upcoming procedure. I would recommend him.

Dr Camp was very thorough in the prognosis of the condition of my hand at my first consultation with him. He answered my questions concerning procedures as well as what to expect from MC surgery and Rehab. My recovery was exactly as he expected. I have not lost any use or range of motion with my hand. I am very pleased with the procedure that was performed. I highly recommend Dr. Camp and his team and thank them for getting me back to the golf course.

Fast, direct, concise and always has a plan.

Excellent patient-doctor relationship, great service and friendly doctor and staff!

Very positive experience...I healed quickly and am well on my way after 3 months...Dr. Camp said I should give it more time, though I'm using it for everything building strength daily. I'm 79 and have used the docs at Azalea for all my orthopedic procedures...you rock guys!

Dr. Camp is easy to talk to. He gave a clear explanation as to what I could expect from my surgery (open carpal tunnel release) and was available for several follow up visits to evaluate my progress and fine tune my rehab. I highly recommend him.

I can’t express how happy I am with the treatment I received from Dr Camp. He was very knowledgeable, caring, and answered all my questions. I definitely recommend him to anyone in need of an excellent orthopedic physician.

Very Professional & no wasted motion!

The staff were very courteous. Dr. Camp was very professional, spent plenty of time discussing the diagnosis and the available treatment plans. He explained the procedure prior to starting and offered recommendations to prevent another problem not being treated at the time to decrease the progression of it. GREAT JOB.
