I’ve never been so discriminated by a care team as I was with Soloman and the Upper Extremity Ortho team. They wrote me off without imaging and Soloman told me I needed “therapy” instead. Then refused to allow me a second opinion within OHSU as a whole. And had their admins belittle me when I tried to schedule. This doctor saw a friend and completely invalidated her chronic pain and illness and indicated she would be better served by psych. This was an avenue she’d taken already and told him that, but he continued to dismiss her and her pain. His staff was thorough and kind but his evaluation was seriously lacking, and furthermore was based on old-school, misogynistic medical practices and beliefs. I am deeply disappointed in her experience, as I’ve heard that OHSU values their patients and experiences, but I guess they are allowing doctors to completely overstep and create uncaring and unsafe environments for their patients. Dr. Solomon is an amazing surgeon with fabulous bedside manner. He has done three surgeries on me with complete success and the results surpassed my expectations.
