Dr . Slingbaum and staff were friendly and took the time to explain the process and made it a comfortable experience. I never had a root canal procedure before, so I was a bit nervous, but that was quickly put to rest. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this office.

I wouldn’t recommend this practice to anyone. I am a new patient and I am disappointed by their service. I have an appointment on 5/23/22 to get a second opinion on my root canal. I call the office many times to confirm my appointment. Shouldn’t it be the other way around. Every time I call no one pick up. I also left a voicemail. I was in need of a root canal. I went to Dr Slingbaum on two separate occasions for the same procedure. He was unable to get my mouth numb enough for me not to feel the procedure. On both occasions he stopped, yelled like a child “I am done, it’s your anxiety not pain.” When I tried to explain he cut me off and wouldn’t listen. He literally slapped a temp filling on my half finished root canal tooth and told me to go get it extracted. I left his office in extreme pain even though the upper jaw was numb and the bad tooth was in the lower jaw. He is beyond rude when things don’t go his way. He insist he is right when he clearly is not. I know the difference between pain and pressure. I only hope he gets treated the same way one day. Real jerk. I was in need of a root canal. I just left Dr. Slingbaum's office after having a root canal procedure, so I wanted to write this review as soon as possible so I could advise the public of the exact details. I was absolutely appalled by Dr. Slingbaum's bedside manner. While he was numbing my tooth he became frustrated because I was moving. At one point he said in a rude and frustrated manner, "that's your problem you are moving too much." When someone sticks a needle in your jaw it can be painful and you may jerk, but not on purpose. He was extremely rude and had me in tears throughout the procedure. Not to mention the office I was in was missing floor paneling and the instruments were not covered in plastic, like standard dental facilities. I would like to advise that if you are in need of a root canal, head to the mainland or another endodontist because Dr. Joel Slingbaum severely lacks patient compassion and medical professionalism.

I am like most, not a fan of having dental procedures. I unfortunately have had my fair share of the along with painful experiences. Dr. Slingbaum has changed that painful experience into an almost relaxing painless environment. Even the Novocain needle was nearly painless! He does this shaking the cheek thing and I swear I didn’t feel anything! The staff and his assistants are also extremely nice and helpful. I don’t normally write many reviews, but my experience was so good I had to share. I hope this review helps others who have had the standard “painful” dentist experiences. I hate to go to a dentist. I hate root canals even more. Had two bad one's elsewhere and they were very painful. Dr. Slingbaum's office made sure I knew what insurance covered before hand. When I arrived I advised them about my prior bad experience. I anticipated pain. I did not even feel the needle. Yes, you hear the drill and pressure of the drill but there was zero pain. His high tech tools made sure that the nerves were completely gone before he finished me up. Went home to no pain but a slightly sore jaw. Woke up to zero pain and a call from his office to check on me. I will never go anywhere else if I need another root canal. Simply awesome I hate to go to a dentist. I hate root canals even more. Had a root canal procedure, which is never fun, but Dr. SLINGBAUM made it as good as it could be. Totally painless and the Doc tool the time to explain everything. Truly a professional. This was done in his Key West office.
