Joel Edward Goldberg

Dr. Goldberg was my surgeon. From our first meeting through post op and discharge, Dr Goldberg was the consummate professional and human. He patiently answered all my questions, presented the options and made me feel at ease in the face of a scary diagnosis. I am truly grateful to have found Joel Goldberg. I believe he saved my life as well as my quality of life. Thank you, Joel ! Steve N

Dr Goldberg was direct and to the point

It was extremely difficult to reach someone in his office to simply schedule an appointment - at one point taking 10 days and multiple voicemails before anyone called me back. He prefers that his patients text him directly, something that I was not comfortable with. He speaks in a rapid fire manner, making it difficult to absorb information. His manual exams were excruciating with no apparent concern for the patient's discomfort.

I had one outpatient visit, on 11/9/2020. He was very, very talkative, only fair at interviewing. He allowed old information from 2 years ago or longer, to be pulled into the note he wrote about my visit. None of this information, including prior medication and prior management of my colon cancer, was currently relevant, or verbally reviewed while I was with him. I was not weighed nor asked my weight, yet a number appeared in his note. He composed a note to my primary physician, but addressed the note to me, as "Dr." so and so. I left a message with his assistant 3 times, she has failed to call me back. I called the hospital today to formally register my complaint. By the way, I waited exactly one hour for this appointment to see him, he then made me wait and listen to some god-awful personal story for more than 15 minutes at the conclusion of the exam. There are lots of choices, choose better for yourself. I did not trust his conclusions.

Dr Goldberg gave me my life back! He's a very skilled surgeon.

Dr. Goldberg is an amazing Doctor and couldnt be happier with my results after surgery. I can live my life now without being in pain everyday.

Joel Goldberg is THEE most amazing surgeon/doctor I've ever met in my entire life, for myself or anyone I have known who has dealt with doctors on a regular basis. This man is so attentive and human! You may have to wait to speak with him because he takes his time with each of his patients to ensure that they're comfortable and that all of their questions are answered. I'm sure if you're reading this you've had a lot of stomach issues and whatnot, he will make sure that you are ready and comfortable with the options that he poses and that you do find relief after he works his magic. You will be glad you met him and afterwards, eternally grateful. Be well! I spent over an hour in the waiting room. Spent another 15 minutes in the examination room. Once the resident and doctor finally appeared, they spent about 15 minutes talking about me but not to me....ignoring me and speaking in medical terms that I didn’t understand. I received very little explanation as to my condition, or the tests that were to be ordered. Exam was unprofessional...was told to drop my pants to my ankles and get on the table. No visit notes so no tests were ordered.

DR . Goldberg is the BEST .. I had a colostomy with him and he has been the most caring doctor I have ever had! He listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions . I would highly recommend him !

Dr Goldberg took on my case short notice, he addressed my all my questions. I felt very confident and secure about his skills. Great doctor!! Good guy! Very thankful!!

Dr Goldberg is the best ! He takes time to to listen to all your concerns . I cannot say enough good things about Dr Goldberg . I feel I owe my life to him because he saved me .. Dr Goldberg is pleasant and has a good bedside manner. It is exceptionally difficult to connect with him for follow up purposes (e.g., visit related inquiries, prescriptions). Days pass before a responses is received. He is very matter of fact and offers relatively clear explanations of issues. Horribly long wait over scheduled appt time prior to being seen (1 hr or more).

I would recommend him for any colorectal related issues/surgeries.
