Excellent care

I was very pleased with my initial visit with Dr. Davis and his staff. Dr. Davis took his time explaining in detail his findings with my ankle. The office staff was kind and scheduled my follow up promptly as promised. I plan to have surgery with Dr. Davis and will update my review at that time.

Really great people. Nurses are super friendly and Dr. Davis is very knowledgeable and kind. I am now on the way to recovery thanks to their help. Highly recommend them.

Dr. Davis and his staff are very interested in how I hurt my foot and ankle. They were also very knowledgeable about the way to help me with my pain and my options. :-)

Ruptured Achilles tendon July 3, 2019. Told me he would not do surgery. I was too old and too out of shape. He started the next visit with “Do you know who the Canadians are”? I thought that was weird. He proceeded to tell me that he wasn’t going to do surgery and that was he was going to do what they do in Canada. At first I did not understand. He said he was copying a technique they use in Canada where they cast the foot. I had three different casts on my right foot. Each with my foot in a different position. Flat then on my toes. Last position was with my heel turned in. Then I immediately went into a walking boot. By the time I made it to my first physical therapy session in Oct my foot had rolled to the outside. My tendons are too short on one side and too long on the other due to his treatment. My balance is very bad. My back hurts from walking on the side of my foot. He is arrogant and cocky. Very condescending. Low opinion of women. Not professional.

The doctor and his staff were friendly and very attentive. I had all my questions answered. I had no worries that this would be a good surgery. So far so good. This review takes place 1.3 years after the surgery so that anyone reading can get a sense of the long-term results of Dr. Joel's surgery. At the time when I fell off a cliff while hiking, I had "insurance", but it had a $10,000 deductible. I waited for about a year, but the ankle was getting worse instead of better, and I finally decided that something needed to be done. So I started calling around and searching the internet to find out how much it would cost. Everywhere I looked, the prices were from $22,000 to $35,000 and needless to say, I was discouraged. Then I found out about the Surgery Center of Oklahoma and the Free Market Doctor's Association... I called them and they recommended Dr. Joel M Davis and the prices were right there up front and WAY less than other places. Like 1/4 to 1/6 the price! After some back and forth on the phone, I made an appointment and packed my bags and drove 1,500 miles in my campervan to Oklahoma. It was obvious from the start that Dr. Joel knew more about the ankle than the other doctors and technicians I had talked to in the past year. He explained the situation in terms I could understand. His staff were kind, professional, and extremely helpful. After that, we discussed the options again and ultimately decided that a surgery would be best. Because of the particular type of injury I needed, he estimated a 75% chance of success. He gave me a more than fair price that included everything. There were no hidden fees or gimmicky tricks. He asked when I would like to do it, and I said as soon as possible. The next morning at 6am I was getting prepped at the Surgery Center of Oklahoma! The surgery went smoothly, and then I started recovery. To be honest it was so long! Even after 8 months I was still feeling pain. But there is a happy ending because after about a year things got to the point where I could run without pain again. There's still a sharp pain if I roll the ankle in just the right way, but such occurrences are extremely rare so it doesn't prevent me from doing all the things I love. Just the other day I ran 10 miles in the desert mountains with zero problems. So to Dr. Joel Davis and your staff - Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!

The staff was very efficient and so nice. I didn’t feel rushed at all throughout my appointment. Dr. Davis suggested a treatment that had not been offered at another clinic. I was impressed at how everything went at my appointment!

Great attitude, comes in with a smile. Has plenty of time. This is my second time around with his treatment. Run close to appointment time, available when needed other than appointment, organized with staff, very clean & professional. Genuinely seems concerned. I do love his PA. (His wife)

My oldest daughter hurt her ankle in Marching Band, and tore ligaments????. Doctor Joel Davis was wonderful with Baylynn and her surgery went smoothly! He is very family oriented and always so kind! I would highly recommend him because he is wonderful, and when you have questions he’s very quick to answer them! There aren’t many doctors that offer such high quality of care but Doctor Davis and his staff are amazing!

Dr Davis listen to what my thoughts were concerning my left ankle and explained in detail what options I have after taking X-rays. He was familiar with my insurance and explained the complete process. His staff was also very knowledgeable in helping answering questions and re-explaining steps going forward. It is very reassuring hearing from the doctor and his staff steps going forward to fix my pain in my left ankle.

Today’s visit was a little rocky at first. I was not aware that the office had been moved and I sat upstairs in Suite 210 for about 10 minutes before finding out that the office had been moved downstairs. A note on the Suite 210 door would have spared me time and frustration.

Dr. Joel Davis is the best orthopedic surgeon in the state, and perhaps, even in the country. Dr. Davis, Allison, and the medical staff are an excellent team. They are friendly and courteous upon arrival and provide a streamlined workflow to get you in & out in a timely manner. Dr Davis is incredibly proficient & knowledgeable in his field. I believe that Dr. Davis is the best orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon in Oklahoma, and probably in the States (Only a very few doctors have fellowship in foot and ankle surgery after orthopedic MD, Ph.D {stem cell and bone regeneration research} residency). He has such a kind and caring attitude for ALL the patients, with remarkable skills in many areas (for example, in bunion surgery, he received further special training in UK to improve his results even though he was having great results). While I was shadowing him as a pre-medical student, I saw so many patients that were very happy, healthy and pleased with the outcome of his guidance, care, and treatment (shots, prescriptions, surgeries), and it made a pleasant atmosphere which made it so fun to shadow him beside. He is an excellent doctor that is ever-improving (due to his desire to serve the patients even better), and if you have problems with your foot/ankle or other bones and need treatment or counseling, definitely come and see him, and you will be happy!! I’ve consulted with him for my injuries, and he gave me great consulting after diagnostic testings and I’m glad I checked my condition with a professional!! Dr. Davis genuinely changed my life. I had dealt with a painful ankle/foot injury/pain for several years and was told by countless other doctors/surgeons that nothing could be done. Dr. Davis explained my surgical options and was so kind throughout the entire process. He took every question seriously and answered realistically each time (trust me we asked a lot). Dr. Davis preformed my surgery and was very helpful during post-op debriefing. From the day I met him to my release from care, Dr. Davis was amazing! Dr. Davis, and staff, stands out in patient care. For example, after one's visit they will send by email detailing your most recent examination, questions you had, and concerns. Good communication with heath care providers helps in all those involved.

Dr Joel Davis came straight to me in 5 minutes after I walked through the door took care of me and my pain was over in less than 10 minutes. With his knowledge of what to do it is save me an operation for over a year and longer to go he's the greatest and his team also Steve guest

Dr. Davis was a miracle worker after my first botched surgery from a different surgeon. No one wanted to touch my foot, and he was referred to me from a podiatrist here in Edmond. In the end we chose a fusion of the ankle, and it was the best decision of my life. His office has always been so nice and respectful, always willing to help. He always explains everything perfectly and tells me what to expect. Post-op I have been seeing his wife who is in practice with him, and she is just as wonderful. I’ve never once had a problem with him or his staff. I’d recommend him to anyone with a foot or ankle issue. He literally saved my foot. I was referred by Dr Walker for surgery. Dr . Davis is kind , compassionate and very informative. After my first Achilles surgery I fell and undid all his work,.this time he did a tendon transfer and The team was wonderful and caring! I am so glad I found him!He truly is the best in the business! Dr. Davis injected my knee for severe pain I was having, and I was amazed at the great results I received. He also surgically removed a large abscess from my hip bone. Everything went extremely well and I'm extremely pleased with Dr. Davis and his staff, who have also been very helpful and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Davis to anyone.

Dr Davis performed a total ankle replacement on me in 2019 and the outcome was perfect with me regaining total mobility and pain free.

I was in so much pain and needed to get in immediately. Dr. Davis made sure I got in same day and did everything he could to alleviate the pain I was dealing with. He was attentive and patient with me and saw me through a hard time. I am so appreciative of Dr. Davis for addressing my issue and making me a priority in his day.

Bethany Browne did an excellent job taking care of me! I had trouble when Dr. Davis reported my MRI for my ankle as “the ligament is floating” whereas the Radiologist said there was “mild old sprain”. I have called countless times for an MRI over read so that he can get in touch with the Radiologist who has a completely different read. He said he would not reach out to the radiologist and that I would need to come back in for another appointment. Which I find to be sketchy. I have not had surgery other than when I was a baby. Yet when I asked Dr. Davis questions about scars and what he would do during surgery he looked at the male PA shadowing him and chuckled at my concern. With two completely different readings it would be great to have a surgeon who cared enough to make a phone call so that the report of an MRI could be straightened out between him and the SUMMIT Radiologist and correct for a patient who is considering surgery based off two different reports! The lady working the front desk phone line had always given me an attitude. I find this practice to be careless and more worried about their income not your health. Dr. Joel Davis is an excellent Orthopedic Surgeon. I had ankle surgery in 2014 and again in 2015 and I can't even tell that I had surgery. I don't drive and I have to walk 12 blocks to work and back home everyday. And, it has been several years since I have had any pain even on those rainy days!!! I would recommend Dr. Davis to anyone who is needing an Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Joel Davis is an excellent Orthopedic Surgeon. After many years of chronic instability from athletic injuries and a prior fracture, Dr. Davis reconstructed all of the ligaments in my ankle. My recovery time was half of what other surgeons told me it would be. Today, I am less than two months out from surgery and I am already able to exercise, including jogging on my treadmill. After 5 previous ankle surgeries with another dr I went and saw Dr Davis and he ended up doing a total ankle replacement and I have never had a more smoother surgery. Dr Davis took the time to explain every to me. My only regret is that I didn’t go to Dr Davis before. He was amazing and so was all of the staff at Ortho Plus.

Lousy Dr....really does not know the foot and all of the joints involved in the foot after 3 attempts left me a cripple and blames the patient for not healing correctly DONT GO.......there are others....
