Dr..Kontos treated my Grand Father, my father, my mama, my brother, and me, in emergency situations and kept us alive! I trust my life to this Doctor. He is an excellent communicator and goes to bat for his patients. I recommend him highly!

Doctor Kontos is the best! I had an artery in my heart that was 90% clogged by cholesterol. In Nov. of 2020 he put a stent in that artery via the catheter method, and I’ve been able to breathe freely ever sense. The procedure was painless. He’s a very good doctor. If you’re looking for an awesome Cardiologist, he’s the best! His staff are also very nice and I consider myself very fortunate to have Doctor Kontos as my Cardiologist and his staff as well. Thank you Dr. Kontos. I appreciate you. ????

I have been a patient of Dr Kontos for several years now. I am completely satisfied with my care and relationship with Dr Kontos and his staff at Grand Strand Heart and Vascular. Everyone is friendly, approachable, caring and supportive.

Dr Jimmy and staff are always friendly,courteous, caring.

He has saved my life TWICE...an outstanding doctor and GREAT person...I am blessed to have him in my life

Excellent experience. I can't say enough about this physician. He put 2 new stints in. I currently now have 6 stints. I had leg pain for over 2 years and once the stints were placed and given a blood thinner my legs are 100% back to normal. I have my life back. It was so debilitating over the last several years. I was given a diagnosis for my legs of fibromyalgia by two other physicians. I was taking 9 gabipentin a day to just be able to function and this was with still a lot of pain. I am so so grateful for this doctor. He made a true different in my life. No gabipentin now. I can't ever thank him enough. Quality of life is 100% better with my legs. I am so so grateful and blessed. Doctors that make a difference like this should be recognized. I hope if this occurs like I had with another patient the doctor will be quick to act with making sure there is no blockage and also get them on a blood thinner quickly. Thank you again so so much Dr. Kontos!

Dr. Kontos has been my cardiologist and has managed my heart related problem for the last 10 years. I know if I need to see him, I can call the office and get an appointment - otherwise, I get me check up every 6 m0nths.

I went in with the complaint of SOB. On excretion. Started about a week before . I was seen by PA and discussed the possibilities for further care.

It was handled professionally and quickly. Staff and Doctor were helpful and able to answer any and all questions.

Had a positive visit. All questions answered & everyone was pleasant.

I would recommend Dr Kontos for anything to do with your heart. His staff is very helpful and he is a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Jimmy Kontos is not only a skilled surgeon (cardiovascular) he is a fantastic, compassionate and "human" person who treats me (and hopefully all other patients) with a good "bed side manner". Easy to confide in, answers both technical questions and your concerns with care and expertise. I previously had another cardiologist moved to Dr. Kontos for the reasons stated previously.. Dr. Kontos is one of the best Dr.'s we have ever had the privileged of having cared for our family! He is always prompt, attentive and courteous and his straight forward care and advise always puts our family at ease after a visit! I recently visited Dr. Kontos for a normal visit . He was thorough and very concerned for the welfare of my wife who was scheduled for a visit . Her underlying physical problems make her a high risk for the covid-19 virus we are currently being subjected to. He suggested that he call her instead of having her travel for a personal visit. When I arrived home I was told that he spent 15 minutes on the phone with my wife explaining how to deal with her current issues . His care for his patients is admirable and very much appreciated .

Dr. Kontos , Victoria (PA) and the entire staff were very professional and displayed honest concern for my overall health. I had taken a clinical stress test and was told that I did not have any blockage concerns concerning my heart. I still didn't feel well and after discussion with Dr. Kontos about my exercise routine and symptoms he suggested a heart cath to make certain there was no blockage; the heart cath indicated extreme bolckage and I was immediately admitted to Grand Strand. Dr. Stall performed the surgery which required 5 bypasses. Obviously these professionals saved my life. If I could I would give this group more that 5 stars.

DR Kontos is very easy to communicate with and explains conditions in an understanding way. Appointments are usually on time or very close to it.

The visit was a follow up. However, as always, the visit was fast and efficient. Dr Kontos and his staff are top notch. The nurses prep you and have you ready for the Doctor when he comes in. He always asked the right questions and examinations are thorough and to the point. Whenever anyone mentions they may have some questionable cardiac problems it gives me the opportunity to brag about my experiences with Dr Kontos and his staff, and I always recommend they see Dr Kontos. My wife does the same. Keep up the good work Jimmy.

The visit was very good. the people were very professional and the nurses were very thorought.

Dr Kontos is always nice. He is Friendly and down to earth. He really listens to your concerns and is very professional.

Wait was very short. Facilities are excellent. Bigger space for patients to wait and far more comfortable . Sign in process and staff were great. Dr. Kontos was , as always , very friendly , asked questions and answered questions extremely well. I have been very pleased with facility, staffing , parking, knowledge, professionalism, never felt rushed AND MOST IMPORTANT having moved here several years ago and needing the right Doctor .... I am convinced I have the right office and the right doctor .

I would recommend Dr. Kontos to anyone who needs a heart specialist. He has always explained my health issues fully to me and when he is unavailable, his Physician Assistants are equally informative and knowledgeable of my health issues and I feel very comfortable with his entire office.

Dr. Kontos was my Cardiologist for 3 years prior to my relocation. During that time I found his professionalism, and that of his office staff, to be second to none. In addition, his manner was extremely pleasant and approachable. His follow-up was exceptional … on one occasion calling me 3 times before we connected to ensure he spoke with me personally. He is an exceptional caregiver.

He was recommended by my GP to become my cardiologist when we relocated to Calabash 7 years ago. He has continued to monitor my cardiac health and placed three stents when required. He utilized the wrist rather than groin procedure for their placement. That was a very pleasant surprise. Dr Kontos patiently walks you thru your status and options with a great bedside manor. I recommend him without reservations to anyone looking for a cardiologist.

Had triple bypass 8 years ago and Dr Kontos was a n attending physician. I have been a patient with him since! He has always been kind,concerned, and caring always taking time to make you feel comfortable and important as if you were his only patient!

Just had a Cardiac Catherization and Dr. Kontos was excellent before, during and after procedure. I had One done 8 yrs ago, another state and ended up in a coma for 14 days and was really scared to have another one. The Dr. And ALL the staff put me completely at ease. Thank you all for being so kind and treating me so special. Dr. Kontos, your the best.

Dr. Kontos is probably one of the best and most polite doctors that I have ever been to. His P.A. is also excellent. As my cardiologist I trust Dr. Kontos and his staff with my life.

Excellent Doctor

Dr. Kontos was the surgeon who diagnosed my first heart situation and put a stint in. I have been seeing him on a recurring followup basis now for about 5 years +. I have nothing but great respect for him and his team and would without hesitation recommend him to anyone who needs a top-notch quality professional.

I have been a patient for almost two years. This included diagnostics, surgery and follow-up visits. Very happy with Dr. Kontos's interest and follow-up. His explanation of my medical condition and plan of treatment gave me great confidence in his judgement. Couldn't be happier with outcome.

This was my first time at this office and meeting Dr. Kontos. The office staff was friendly and efficient. Dr. Kontos was very knowledgeable and explained everything I wanted to know. He took his time and made sure I understood everything. He also came off as a down to earth person, which made me feel very comfortable.

Dr.Kontos is fantastic . He and his team offer the best care possible. I have had cardiac issues over the years and was told by my previous cardiologist that he was unable to correct my problem. Dr.Kontos was kind enough to take me as a patient and was able to correct my problems and change my medication to keep me going . He and his group are the BEST!!!

I have been a patient for 21/2 yrs. He started off very caring and responsive. But, my last experience with this office was horrible. I was in ER dealing with over 2 months of C-diff and in check in my BP was 239/110. The doctors were very concerned about how rapidly to give me fluids and the high blood pressure. It took over a week before we finally heard back from this office. A week later and they still haven’t addressed my high BP. Nurse how “busy”,No urgency. I hope Dr. K still cares.

Dr Kontos has always been great with me

Dr. Kontos has been my heart doctor for 8 years now. I had 7 stents put in my heart by Dr. Kontos and have had NO problems. Dr. Kontos and his staff have always been very good to work with. I highly recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. Kontos by my medical doctor several years ago for difficulty with my breathing. I am obese, and that seemed to be all Dr. Kontos could discuss, and told me several times that I needed stomach surgery. He was very rude about it, and I left quite upset. Now that I do need a cardiologist, and, since I requested to not have him as my primary physician, the entire group refuses to see me. Evidently, the doctors can choose their patients, but the patient can't choose the doctor.
