About Dr. Jessica B Gallina
Reviews for Dr. Jessica B Gallina
After non surgical intervention failed, Dr. Gallina was able to repair the significant damage caused by various autoimmune diseases. She was prepared for the complications in my recovery secondary to autoimmune, I was prepared in advance for my lengthy recuperation Dr. Gallina worked with my other physicians. She is an expert in her field and attentive to the whole person and their family. Her office staff is great, efficient and friendly.
I ruptured my Achilles tendon badly and my podiatrist recommended a couple of surgeons. I met with Dr. Jessica Gallina and was struck by the way she went about explaining what the MRI showed in a clear and caring manner and then described how she had performed procedures on other patients, professional ballet dancers, to fix similar or worse ruptures. She also said I would be able to get back on my feet and jog in 3 months time. I had initially wanted to consult two surgeons and then to pick one that I was comfortable with. But, after speaking with Dr. Jessica Gallina, I felt like I was in safe, knowledgeable and experienced hands and didn't bother going to anyone else. The staff in her office, Taylor (Medical Assistant) and Dahae (Surgical Coordinator) were very helpful with the prerequisites for the surgery. The surgery took place at Hudson Surgery Crossing and the staff there were caring and friendly and the experience from start to finish felt relaxing and painless. Post surgery follow ups were excellent (no infections or complications from surgery), Dr. Jessica Gallina was very responsive with specific questions I had such as observations about minor swelling and the use of orthotics in the boot. It's been over 2 months since the surgery and the recovery is going very well. I give Dr. Jessica Gallina my highest recommendation!! Dr. Gallina repaired my torn Achilles in January 2022. From the onset, she and her medical team were extremely professional, highly communicative, and punctual. Dr. Gallinia is an excellent physician/surgeon. She did a superb job on my toe. I give her my very highest recommendation. She is very knowledgable and experienced, communicates clearly, and conveys that she cares for the patient as a person. HIGHEST recommendation possible. I'm an MD myself and I've visited some sloppy/careless/uncaring docs over the years who in my opinion, did not deserve the trust placed in them. Dr. Galina was reassuring and provided excellent instruction regarding the healing process. My broken foot healed as she had outlined in our first visit. She is a terrific doctor.
Dr. Gallina performed surgery on my foot and it was such a pleasurable experience all things considering. She is patient and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend !
As expected my first visit was amazing, I feel at home in Dr.Gallinas office. Going through an ankle fracture for the first time can be so scary and difficult to process but she made it feel like a light walk In park. Her energy and optimism bring tears to my eyes, I always hope I get the best care and I did. Excited to go next month to remove the whole ankle brace and get to walking. I appreciate all the staff reading this you’re such kind and soft spoken people. Dr. Gallina was incredible, she is professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her for any athletes with foot/ankle problems, not only dancers.
I highly recommend Dr. Jessica Gallina, she is not only a talented and thoughtful surgeon she is also a caring and generous person, plus she runs a very organized office with an engaged and pro-active staff. After my surgery Dr. Gallina not only called me the next day but for many days thereafter. If you are reading this post, I suppose you are considering Dr. Gallina as your surgeon. For years I thought about getting bunion surgery and even visited other surgeons. I found those other surgeons quite shiny and felt they were more interested in my credit card than me, so while I need the surgery I did not feel comfortable going forward with any of them. This year I visited an amazing fabulous caring podiatrist who does not do surgery who told me if I really wanted surgery, Jessica Gallina was the person he would recommend. I am glad I listened to him. I felt cared for the entire time and am happy with my surgery results. Dr. Jessica Gallina is Terrific. After 2 years and 13 different hospital I had lost hope of ever walking again! DR Gallina save my life As I went in her office she said to me you’re foot is broken here here and here full Achilles tendon reconstruction surgery I walk 1 month later!!
I love Dr. Gallina and would recommend her 1000%. I had a major achilles tear and needed two surgeries. She was amazing.
I broke my leg in 3 places biking in the city and I was told by the paramedics that I was fine. I went to my podiatrist who told me I needed x rays. Got the x rays and referred to Dr. Gallina. She suggested a CT scan to be sure it wasn’t too serious to need surgery. Thank God we did that because we found out it was so much more serious than a hairline fracture. I needed emergency surgery to not develop arthritis in 3 years so I got the ORIF surgery. I finished PT yesterday and am doing really well. I returned to CrossFit last week and now am titanium with a rod and two screws in my leg. It is cold here in the city and I feel it in my joints but that’s normal. I am grateful that I can walk and do burpees again. Dr. Gallina is a blessing along with her great assistants. I’d recommend her 1000%! The Best! Dr. Gallina is patient, kind, and informative in office and highly skilled and competent as a surgeon. She made a double foot surgery angst free - going to great lengths to make my surgery happen on a specific date I wanted and calling directly several times to check on me afterwards.
Dr. Jessica Gallina and her medical assistant Taylor are simply phenomenal. I wish I was able to put more stars on this review. Dr Gallina was highly recommended to me and I see why. She treated me for a Lisfranc injury to my right foot which needed surgery. I was overwhelmed with nervousness and I had bad anxiety about having surgery. Dr Gallina’s bedside manner was exceptional both before and after surgery which helped me relax and not have a heart attack :). It was a complete pleasure having Taylor who is sweet as pie and extremely knowledgeable answer my questions and also put me at ease prior to seeing the doctor. Save my life torn tendon today I can walk and have been walking now again after years of pain and suffering thanks you the best.
Dr. Gallina is a great doctor. I had two successful surgeries performed by her. Her staff is very efficient. My primary doctor referred her to me and I have recommended her to others.
One of the worst doctors EVER! I was referred to her by another doctor. I arrived at her office about 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment to fill out forms. I sat in the waiting room for an hour. People who arrived after me were seen by the doctor before me. Finally they took me into an exam room where I waited another 20 minutes. My MRI was sent to her by my original doctor but she never reviewed them. She gave me a prescription to get another MRI at a different facility. She told me I should start PT. I asked her if she could refer me to a PT place on the Upper East side as that is where I work and live. She said she has 2 great people on the east side and her front desk would give me that info. After I left the office I looked at the PT info and both therapists were located on the West side. I had to call the office and then email to get a therapist on the east side. I didn't want to start PT before my MRI as whenever I rubbed my foot the pain became worse. I went for me MRI and waited 3 WEEKS and still no phone call from the doctor. I called her office and they said that I had to call for my results. They never told me this and The Doctors I have dealt with in the past ALWAYS call you when they receive the results. The receptions said you are in luck tomorrow Wednesday is when she calls patients to go over their films. They would not give me a time of this call just anytime between 9-5. needless to say 5:00 comes and no call. I call the office after 5:00 and they had gone for the day. I call the next day and they said she would call me back which she did later that afternoon. When she called she was very curt and short. She said don't do PT as that would harm my injury and she said just keep doing what you are doing and walk in the shoes you are walking in. WOW she was a great help. That is sarcasm. She did nothing for me accept waste my time and money. On top of all of this a few months later I received a bill from her. I called the number on the bill and said I paid my office visit on the day of the appointment. They said this bill was for the follow up phone call. You can imagine what I said after that. Needless to say they removed the charge. I find it hard to believe she has a practice. if I could give zero stars I would. One of the worst doctors EVER! I was referred to her by another doctor. had hallus rigidus fusion of big toe. very successful. accurate explanation of what to expect. responsive to questions. friendly.
Dr. Gallina took the time to explain her diagnosis and prognosis of my condition. I found her to be an intelligent and caring physician.
Very knowledgeable Doctor. I had a straight forward experience where she knew exactly what needed to be done to repair my foot. Explained in detail what needed to be done in terms I understood. Smooth surgery experience as well. Recommend.
I experienced a bad compound fracture of my ankle and foot in January 2010. I had 5 foot operations by Dr Dean Lorich at New York Presbyterian and never healed as blood clots from foot operations went to my heart and I had to have emergency open heart surgery to remove them and they informed me I died twice during my operation. I have been in chronic pain for nine plus years and was recently referred to Dr Gallina. I saw her April 9th 2019 and she is my Angel! After our consultation she sent me across the street for xrays and said to come back as soon as finished. She was the best bedside manner of any doctor. She pulled up my x rays and spent time reviewing them with me and then explained she can fix me. Her first course of action is a cortisone shot in my ankle which I did this morning. Miracle Worker this angel is! Nine years of no one recommending this to relieve my pain and immobility it worked!!! It is 7 hours later and I have NO pain and am on zero medication. Not even an aspirin! I’m 65 years old now and 2019 is going to be fabulous!!! Thanks to dr Gallina and her great staff Liza and Genesis I feel like a princess on the way to the ball! AMAZING! After completing physical therapy that she recommended I returned for further evaluation due to continued symptoms limiting my mobility. She was curt in telling me to return to referring podiatrist for orthotics and made no other recommendation. I went to another orthopedic surgeon who diagnosed the problem and gave me a cortisone injection - Shazam, with much improvement. No flat feet, no orthotics needed. Thanks for nothing, Dr. Gallina.
Dr. Gallina did a fabulous job assessing issues with my left foot and identifying the need to replace cartilage, sew a torn ligament and fix my bunion. She communicates all of the details regarding issues as well as procedures so there were no surprises. My foot healed faster than expected and three years later there are no issues. I'm now addressing an issue in my right foot and Dr. Gallina and her staff have been incredibly attentive and helpful.
Worst experience ever at a doctors office. I was referred by a great very informative orthopedic. When I arrived I was told I might need surgery after tearing tendons in my ankle and 2 small fratures. Doctor Gallina told me she wanted to try physical therapy first for 3 weeks, but never even had a chance to read my MRI do to computer system being down I was told. Then I call back couple days later they tell me they don’t have the CD of my MRI which I was suppose to have....something they never said. So here we are about a month after my injury...no physical therapy...no surgery they just left me for dead. Dr. Gallina hasn’t called me once and informe me about anything. Horrible care in all forms. Look forward to change doctors. Worst experience ever at a doctors office. I was referred by a great very informative orthopedic. I went to Dr. Gallina as a second opinion after being told I would never be able to lead the active lifestyle I am used to. She was patient with all my questions and knowlagable of the most current procedures available. I had an ankle replacement & achilles tendon lengthening all done at once. I came home from the hospital a few hours after surgery. Recovery has been quick & easy. Dr. Gallina & staff is there for you with any concerns or questions during the entire process. Thrilled w/results!

Dr. Gallina is a brilliant surgeon & she is kind & caring. She performed 5 surgeries (in one day) on my foot. Other doctors said it was a lost cause because the damage to the entire foot toes, arch, joints (due to a deformed bunion) was too severe. But Dr. Gallina did 5 complicated procedures to correct each problem & my foot is now like the foot I had 20 years ago! I can jump, dance, walk and perform for hours. I'm not only footloose & fancy free - I'm pain free! Highest recommendation!
In it for the money--not the care. Sloppy diagnostics, recommends expenive and unnecessary appliances, unsteady hand and distracted manner.
After surgery on my BDay on April 11th 2016, I wasn't expecting to run for a while! I'm back to running thanks to you!
She is a very great doctor. I truly recommend her in which I have and all those who has gone to her has said the samething... She is a sweetheart, her staff are great..... nice friendly office
I highly recommend Dr. Gallina. I am so glad I came to her for a second opinion, she saved me!

I had surgery with Dr. Gallina three months ago and I am back on my feet. She is a warm, magnificent surgeon. Her office manager was very helpful every step of the way. Thank you so much, Dr. Gallina!
Dr. Gallina is an excellent and an extremely skilled diagnostician and surgeon. She is kind, caring and empathic, answers all questions fully. I never feel rushed. Would and have highly recommended her to others. Her staff are excellent and fill out any forms you need promptly. Office manager Jessica is wonderfully efficient, understanding and the best prompt problem solver.
Dr. Jessica Gallina is a most skillful professional. I admire her immensely and am ineffably grateful to her for the quality of the surgery she performed on my foot. I went back to skiing this weekend after an October intervention which is an enormous joy for me, since downhill skiing is one of my greatest passions. I can'r recommend Dr. Gallina highly enough. She is a pleasure to work with since her personality and sense of humor are a delight and her mastery of the craft is magnificent.

She is the best doctor!
Extremely available. Saw me immediately. Dr. GALLINA did a superb, creative surgery on my severed Anterior Tibialis tendon, a rare and difficult condition and procedure. She clearly saved my foot and is a highly talented and devoted doctor with a great humanitarian bedside manner. I am very thankful to have found her and recommend her without reservation. BTW I am a physician myself and very perfectionistic. She dealt with all my concerns in a kind and tolerant way. Couldn't be better!

Dr. Gallina is a rare find in surgery. She has excellent surgical skills, knowledge of the life of a ballerina and the medical/recovery needs necessary to return to dance, and the unusual kindness and concern for the person as a whole person. I went from being concerned that I would walk properly again after my accident to 100% recovery and a full return to dance training. Dr. Gallina never rushed me through an appointment. She is sincere and talented.
Compassionate and careful: Dr. Galina reviewed every option before suggesting bunion surgeries. But the surgeries were necessary and the outcomes were beyond my exletations.
Words can not express my gratitude and time appreciation to you for all you have done for me. I can walk again! I can ride a bike- and play with my nieces and nephews! Your talent is amazing and bedside manner is unmatched! And even though, I am in health care you were very patient took the time to answer every small questions - no matter how trivial. Thank you!! I was truly blessed to have found you.
Dr. Gallina is one of the best doctors I have ever found. She is kind, thorough, and always willing to go above and beyond. She has done 3 surgeries for me now, and I have been grateful each of those times that she was my doctor. I have already recommended her to a handful of friends.

Rude, condescending, dismissive. Her office is thronged with patients so she naturally has less than 5 minutes to tell you that you need surgery, sorry, deal with it loser. Very negative experience. I've had foot problems for years and she treated me like some frivolous nincompoop whose experiences were misinformed and stupid. Some doctors are just in it for the money.

Dr. Gallina will give you a lot of attention until your having issues after your surgery that she cannot explain. She might have done her job as a surgeon but she is not a great doctor and her office manager is incredibly rude. Everytime I was there I waited over an hour and a half for her to say nothing of any help.
I had a severe hammertoe which was contracted. Went to a Harvard Dr. at HSS> He recommended amputation. Saw Dr. Gallina who not only saved my toes and corrected the condition but did so in a gracious, professional manner. I highly recommend Dr. Gallina.

I have bi-lateral Achilles Tendonosis and Reynaud's disease. When I told Dr. Gallina that I had Reynaud's disease of the feet she said good luck with that. She performed a superficial examination of my right foot only. She did not want to examine my left foot. She refused to examine my large right toenail saying she doesn't do toenails. Toenails are listed on her website. She was curt, lacking compassion and dismissive in her tone.
