Very personable & thorough. I came in for a second opinion & im so happy I did! He explained what he was doing as he did it & the medical reasons he checked what he did. Highly recommend!

After disregarding my symptoms as a sinus issue. I followed treatment & ended up worse. I politely tried to inform him that my issue was not actually addressed and that I felt like he should take a more detailed look, but, I felt it unfair to charge me for another visit. He scoffed and said that it doesn't work that way. Then he proceeded to tell me that he has been 20+ years in practice and "he didn't miss things". Final Results: endured through very miserable times while waiting the 2 months it would take to see him, felt totally disregarded at my appointment to get zero answers....NEVER going back, but still have same ongoing issue.

Just know that I DO NOT do reviews and this is only the 2nd one of my life; so I hope at least one person that feels the way I do will go elsewhere based on it. Here's the gist: Once you get to this doctor's length of practice; it is no longer a benefit and just the 'I am not listening to you' arrogance remains. Despite many positive reviews, he did NOT make me feel like he cared or that he actually heard the direct and simple information that I was giving to him. Instead, he chattered on about his situation and barely looked at my throat. After disregarding me completely about the painful red nodules at the back of my throat, I was dumped into the 'sinus issue' pile. Even though I felt like I had completely wasted my time and money, I still followed his treatment to the letter. How'd that turn out? Two weeks later I ended up in worse shape then before I went. Feeling like I was dismissed and still needed a resolution, I called the doctor back to report that I had told him about the painful bumps in the back were not addressed and that I felt like he should take a more detailed look. He wanted to charge me for another visit! I don't know about you, but I am trying to address a very specific issue and it gets ignored by a 'professional', the last thing I should have to do is pay you again to actually do your job. I thought he was arrogant before, but he treated me like a complete idiot on the phone and said he has 20+ years in practice and said 'I don't miss things', so I would need to pay for another visit 'because like an A/C issue - you would need to keep paying until it was fixed'....WHAT???? Results: Waited 2 months to see him, was horribly miserable because I thought he was going to help, and spent money to get no answers....NEVER going back and still have no faith in doctors at all.

I took my daughter to Dr. Altman years ago, and he was wonderful then. So naturally, when my husband's life long sinus issues became unmanageable, he went to an ENT who told him a bunch of stuff that I found to be terrifying. So I suggested my husband go to Dr. Altman for a second opinion. Dr. Altman is still just as amazing as he was years ago, if not more amazing. He is honest, and down to earth, and he fixed my husband's issues without all the other terrifying procedures the other doctor's office said he would need. I had a major accident that happened over the summer. I was having some intense blood loss on a daily basis coming from my nasal cavity. I went and saw Dr Altman and he got me scheduled for a CT head scan right away. By the time I got home from the Scan he(Dr Altman) called me and already had surgery set up for first thing the next day. To top it off he called me the next day to check on me, did I mention that he wasn’t the doctor that did the surgery since he had a specialist do it. Dr. Altman and his staff were wonderful. I recently sustained a nasal fracture & had to undergo surgery to correct it. Dr. Altman listened to all of my concerns and reassured me that he would take great care of me and he DID! I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. I was truly blessed when I received a referral to Dr. Jerald Altman in Feb. of 2020. My condition was rare and complicated. So rare, I believe I was the first in AZ to be diagnosed. If it wasn't for his compassion, level of knowledge, experience, willingness to review my case and send my samples off to the right labs, I may not have received the correct diagnosis. After my diagnosis, Dr. Altman then referred me to some of the best doctors in AZ at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Without the entire team, I may not have had the chance to write this review today. Arrived to my appointment 15 mins early was seen 45 minutes late. He was very rude and not helpful at all. Seemed more worried about getting me out the door than discussing my reason for being there. I would give zero stars if I could.

If I could put no stars I would. I recently went to Dr.Altman’s office hearing he was one of the best in town but oh I was wrong. Walking into the office already had a bad energy. The staff were rude you could hear one receptionist complaining about her job loud enough the whole waiting room could hear. When I was called by one of the nurses I was greeted with an eye roll and was sat at a different place with no explanation why. And to top it all off meeting Dr. Altman was the worst experience. I told him everything I felt and he not only once but twice told me I wasn’t feeling what I felt. He took everything I said and disregarded it saying it was all in my head and I didn’t have any problems at all. I would ask questions and instead of answering it he would just say that I don’t have that problem so he’s not going to answer that. It got to the point where I didn’t want to stay in his office any longer but because I waited so long to meet him I stayed to see if maybe he could figure out my problem. I was wrong. When I said I was currently feeling pain while talking to him he said I was fine and again said there was nothing wrong with me. To conclude I would never recommend anyone going to Dr. Altman’s office unless you want to sit an hour listening to the staff complain about their jobs and have a Dr make you feel like a mental person who makes up what they feel. Overall we're happy with Dr. Altman but the office staff needs some work. Perhaps hire more people to answer the phone and have a separate medical records department. Also, have you ever considered using a medical record application or patient portal?

Family have thrived here. Wonderful clinic. Would recommend.

He showed great empthapy to her as she is a special needs adult and was very concerned with her surgery. He answered her questions even the many not related to medicine. She shared her shell collection with him and even purchased a thank you card for Dr Altman & crew. Her surgery went so smoothly.

Just recently had a Septoplasty w/bilateral turbinate reduction - and can I just say, I've never known the feeling of being able to breathe through my nose. Dr. Altman and his team were absolutely amazing, warm and very reassuring. I felt comfortable with the entire process, and can now a week and a half post-op can say, I've never breathed better, and its only going to improve! Dr Altman has a great attitude, is optimistic and takes concerns with great review, he gives recommendations as well as goes in detail with explanations on what is to be expected. He’s fun, great attention to detail, is attentive and kind. Awesome Dr BIG HIGHFIVE - I totally recommend Dr Altman!!!

Dr. Altman helped my family member through a difficult diagnosis. He is very kind, caring, and listened to all of our concerns. We never felt rushed. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wonderful ENT.

I saw Dr. Jerald Altman to have my hearing tested. The results showed I had diminished hearing in one ear more than the other. The doctor recommend an MRI but did not take the time to explain to me why I should have this done. After that the audiologist meet with me and pushed the need for me to buy hearing aids for both ears. I attempted the MRI test but could not finish it because I had a panic attach due to claustrophobia. When I got home I left a message with Altman's assistant asking questions on how important it was to have the MRI done and if needed, could he prescribe valium. I did not hear back from their office for ten days. In the mean time I made an appoint at Mayo Clinic and had a much more informative experience. Everything was explained in detail and options were presented. I was told I did not need hearing aids and there were alternatives to the MRI. Lesson learned: always get a second option and If your doctor does not return your messages, go somewhere else.

What a great personality and tremendous knowledge of his speciality. He was able to take a complex situation and describe it in layman's terms that was concise and easy to understand. No nonsense approach to problems and solutions!

Dr. Altman is a very professional doctor. I really like his bedside manner. He is very clear and he knows what he is doing. I was very worried about my sinuses but he told me there is nothing to worry about and put me at ease. I just got a septoplasty done with reduction of my turbinates and antrostomy of my sinuses. He was very fast with the surgery and I saw a huge improvement in about a week. I am so happy to be breathing again after months of struggle and sleepless nights. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an ENT. I trusted him and he did an amazing job. Thanks to him.

Incredible doc. Truly cares about his patients. I have to say, he is rarely available and has no other doctor covering so if you need to get in less than a month, don't bother.

I had such a great experience with Dr. Altman I had to review, phenomenal doctor, build rapport the moment he walks in, very knowledgeable get right into finds the issue and knows what to do, I look forward to seeing him on my next visit. Side note he’s hilarious.

Dr Altman removed my thyroid cancer . he is very informative. Funny and Friendly. I recommend him to every one I talk to that has a issue with. Ear .nose . and throat problems. If you just want to tell him a joke he will listen to that also.

This story starts in December of 2017 when I had surgery scheduled for 22 January 2018, the office calls me the day before and states the surgery has to be rescheduled because their inapt office failed due to late submission to my health Provider. I had the surgery for a deviated septum and had problems with severe nose bleeds throughout the year. I had "4" post operative visits trying to correct the nose bleeds. After the 4th visit in February of 2019 and Altman's arrogance I decided to try another ENT at the Mayo Clinic. I was frustrated after 4 visits and the 3000.00 he charged to cauterized the nostril without fixing the nose bleeds. He also was insulted when I asked to see if I was anemic and having blood work at the Mayo showed that I was anemic from blood loss. He might be a good surgeon, but he lacks in bedside manners!! The CT scan at the Mayo showed bleeding around the right turbinate..... something Altman should of done!!!!

I’ve been having recurring nose bleeds. My wife became very concerned. She called Dr Altman’s extremely busy practice and got me in that same Friday afternoon. Staff as well as Dr was very professional, courteous, and efficient. My problem was quickly diagnosed & solved. I’d recommend Dr Altman in a heartbeat!

Dr. Altman is a premier ENT physician. I've had ear issues my whole life and it was a God send to find him years ago. No one treats my ears better, with more care then him. Ear pain has been something that's plagued me with several other ENT physicians in past. Dr. Altman is a real pro and I would highly recommend him.

I have never met a Dr so wonderful then Dr. Altman , I can write a novel for this but there's no space, But will say he's THE BEST DR. This is by far the BEST ENT DOCTOR that I have ever met! I know Doctors and have the medical history to prove it! Dr. Altman is an amazing human being and a great Doctor on top of that! His staff is Top Notch and THEY CARE!!!

I have seen Dr Altman for ten years. Recently my husband saw him for hearing loss and nasal issues. As always he is respectful and listens to all of your concerns. He is thorough and explains everything in layman terms. He offers options and is not pushy. He is top quality.

I finally found an ENT I trust my children to! I've been searching for 18yrs for someone like Dr Altman. He's extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, not only answers questions but asks if you have more. You are not rushed out the door & your time is respected as equally as his. I have been to many different ENT's in the valley & have never felt this level of trust & been so comfortable. My only complaint is not finding him sooner & the unnecessary suffering of my children from past Drs. He's #1

I saw Dr. Altman about swollen lymph nodes. He was kind, understanding and not an alarmist. He was a perfect fit for my worrisome personality. I would strongly reccomend this doctor.

After explaining details about needed throat surgery, he offered me time to think about it. After a couple of months, his staff called me saying the doctor feels that I shouldn't take too long to make my choice. So I had it done that same month. The surgery was done in a hospital environment surgery center where I felt safe if any other condition arose. He called me at home the next day to followup. I experience very little discomfort during and days after. I'm very pleased!

Love Dr. Altman - he's knowledgeable, kind, reassuring, takes the time to answer all of your questions, and does not make you feel rushed. However, it's difficult to make an appointment with him - the gentleman in charge of scheduling appointments is less than helpful - the date/time of my follow-up appointment has been screwed up TWICE, and the gentleman makes no effort to fix the situation or at least acknowledge and apologize for his mistake - I have to drop my star rating for this reason.

Dr. Altman is without a doubt the best doctor I have ever been to. He lifts my spirits just by being in his office. I'm afraid I use him for more than just my ENT conditions because he knows more than most PCP's that I have been to. His personality makes us a good match. I wish that every doctor would have the overall knowledge that he has. He makes going to the doctor a treat instead of a dread. Doctor Altman is hands down the best ENT there ever was, or could be. As a professional singer, he has helped me through numerous situations to keep my voice healthy and at its best. Knowledgable, with the best bedside manner, I will continue to recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs specialty ENT care. I go out of my way to see him specifically.

Horrible, did not even make eye contact with me half the time. Playing with his laptop and seemed uninterested in what I was saying. Got a second opinion with a wonderful Doc.

Dr Altman is an AWESOME ENT. I had a chronic throat infection and was really frustrated with getting sick constantly. He fit me into his schedule on short notice, spent a lot of time talking to me and problem-solving with me on possible reasons I was dealing with this ongoing problem and then he was attentive in his follow up. My problem is resolved - and I would go back to Dr Altman without hesitation if I ever needed an Ear, Nose, Throat specialist.
