Dr. Jennifer T Trent

Upon moving to Sarasota in 1990, I started going to a local dermatologist for about fifteen years. I tend to get a lot of benign marks on my skin, and in all that time he only found it necessary to do one biopsy (was benign). After his retirement, I started going to Dr. Trent. Just about every time I went for my six-month appointment, she did at least one biopsy. All benign. This went on for several years. Finally I began to mistrust her judgment (or her ethics), and I started with another doctor. In over ten years with him, he has done zero biopsies. Coincidentally I just discovered yesterday that a friend of mine had a similar experience with her and changed doctors. These are the facts. Make of them what you will.

Dr. Trent was nasty, demoralizing, arrogant and condescending. Would have walked out but was concerned with an area on my face she had just diagnosed as cancerous plus I was not comfortable expressing anger while naked in a paper gown. Dr. Trent's office referred me to another doctor for surgery since Dr. Trent does not perform excisions or MOHS herself. When the other office called I found I was referred for an excision on the center of my face, when I asked what the difference was between the two procedures the exact response was "excision is fast and cheap". Dr. Trent and her office obviously did not have concern about my skin health or appearance. I called three other dermatology offices and found that, given the location on my face and in such close proximity to my eye no other office would consider an excision - they would only do MOHS. UPDATE: I have to add more to this review. I am now 9 months past my MOHS procedure and I have no visible scar and am thankfully still cancer-free in that area. It is also very difficult to see the 'scar' in my 10x magnifying mirror :) With Dr. Trent I had also asked about what looked like a very large whitehead on the center of the same cheek. In the first visit she said it was a very deep cyst and to not "mess with it". On the second visit all she said was, "It's nothing", ie. it's not cancer. She was dismissive of my concern. At my new dermatology office the doctor said it was a clogged pore just under the skin (aka: a giant whitehead!) Within 5 seconds she did a teeny incision squeezed out the clogged build-up and the giant whitehead I had lived with for three years because of Dr. Trent's misdiagnosis, was gone. It also closed and healed within 24 hours. With Dr. Trent I had also expressed concern with pores that were growing larger and taking on the appearance of warts, her comment was an exasperated, "You have large pores, deal with it, go for a facial if it bothers you." My new doctor took 10 seconds to explain exactly what these large pores were - they were NOT large pores. She also explained that there was nothing I could do to stop them forming and the only help for them was extensive, deep skin peel with lengthy healing. She gave me the facts I was looking for and it's up to me at the customer to decide what I want to do. PLEASE, buyer beware, doctors are not always accurate - no human is correct all the time, but when a doctor is dismissive and unpleasant - shop around and research. Patients are customers and you owe it to yourself to research and advocate for your health and well-being.

Also, had a cancerous spot on the direct center of my face just below my eye and she referred me for an excision - no other dermatologist would do an excision, only MOHS since they were concerned with removing ALL of the cancer and also cared about the appearance of the direct center of my face. Will never return to Dr. Trent

I was referred by a work colleague to dr Jenifer trent. I called To make appointment and was told they call me back??? After 3 days of waiting, I went elsewhere. Have never called dr office & couldn’t just make an appointment

Dr. Trent is absolutely the best! Her office staff is kind and patient. My entire family sees Dr. Trent. Dr. Trent takes her time and gives you the best care. She removed a suspicious mole on my son. My son is 8 and was scared, but Dr. Trent made him calm and relaxed. My family is grateful to have such an amazing doctor like her.

Absolutely loved the results of my Botox I get done by Dr Trent! She’s an amazing doctor. Very gentle & personable. Definitely recommend her to anyone who’s looking for a good cosmetic doctor or dermatologist!

She did my Botox in February and I called to get back in for more(it never worked and she gave me $400 worth) and she wanted to charge me another $400. The office staff was not friendly about getting me back in. I won’t be back!

The likelihood that I would recommend Dr. Trent to family and friends is 100%. Her staff is kind and understanding. Never have had a wait time. I've never experienced any pain while having facial injections. P.S. These people are animal lovers! They had Christmas donations for the local animal shelter! The effort really warmed my heart.

Very thorough dermatologist!

Very condescending,vile people. They break appointments and never seem to find a replacement date. Stay away,go spmewhere else.

I was referred to Dr. Trent by my sister, who has been a very satisfied patient for 10 years. I was very satisfied with Dr. Trent and her staff and would highly recommend her.

Dr. Trent is extremely talented when it comes to cosmetic dermatology. Very steady injector with a great eye for enhancing natural beauty and a natural look. Staff is extremely friendly, time oriented and thorough! Minimum wait time in waiting room, Dr.Trent is very punctual. I trust her completely and my skin has never looked better.

When I called to make the appointment , I was very specific of the nature of the visit - a cyst. The staff said - yes- the Doctor will treat that condition, and specifically the cyst. When I arrived for the visit - the Doctor immediately said - no - I will not treat that cyst but charged me for an office visit anyways.

I am a health professional for 48 years. Family, friends and I have been to many dermatologists over the years. I have never seen a Doctor to compare with Dr. Trent! She is completely professional, very thorough, kind. She checks carefully all over your body. If needed she does her own MOH's procedure. I have never found a dermatologist who does this. I can't find a dermatologist as thorough as Dr. Trent. I have looked all over 5 surrounding states. I live in Arkansas now. We moved from Fl
