I saw Dr. Kwartler because I lost hearing in my left ear after MVD surgery. He explained the different types of hearing aides that would best fit my needs and explained in detail everything. He surgically implanted a baja hearing aid.Him, as well as the staff at the hospital, his office & audiology dept. are amazing. I had a baja hearing aid implant and it went extremely well. My wife had a surgery for acoustic neuroma done by doctor Kwartler. First was told there would be a better than 50% chance she’d keep her hearing. She lost all hearing in her ear. Ever since she gets bad tinnitus. Since the surgery and the “affordable” care act we no longer can “afford” insurance. We called dr Kwartler to set up a visit and I asked how much the visit will be. They told me $415 dollars! Are you nuts! He sees us for 10 minutes! I’m sorry but this whole health care system has gotten out of hand. You are not worth $3000 an hour for simple examinations. Excellent, knowledgeable and caring doctor.

Dr. Kwartler is a brilliant ear / Neuro surgeon/ doctor, I had a rare infection, he performed a very delicate serious operation with great compassion. I had some hiccups in the healing aspect(nothing relating to his work, other areas of a simultaneous operation ) every time I called he responded quickly with an understanding of his patients needs and reassurance. Can’t say enough amazing things ... if you want a brilliant doctor who puts patients first as opposed to feeding the ego and spotlight many rare specialists come with.. he is ALL ABOUT HIS PATIENTS! Healing,Humble, gently and calming ALL the things patients who suffer could ever want from A to Z..

I just had my two year follow-up with Dr. Kwartler for my Acoustic Neuroma treatment. Internet reviews can be suspect, which is why I encourage readers to check with the NJ ANA as well, where lots of acoustic neuroma patients share information. I've had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Kwartler, who goes out of his way to explain with nuance, to call even out of office hours, and to make certain you have what you need. He also volunteers his time for conferences and social media responses in his practice area. As a remodeling contractor I always tell people the truth, whether they want to hear it or not. Dr. Kwartler does the same, which is something I appreciate greatly. His practice area is not one with simple or short answers to problems, and I've found him willing and able to go the extra mile to ensure the best possible outcome. He's a solid citizen.

I tried making an appointment and I was refused, seems my hearing loss and ear problems and breathing issues are not good enough for him to see me.

Dr Kwartler is one of the best doctors I have ever met. Under his skilled hands I just had a Stapedectomy performed to correct my hearing and after the procedure I had no pain, no nausea or any other side affects. He even called himself early the next morning to see how I was doing. His office staff is also very caring and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him. Thanks again Dr Kwartler!

Very knowledgeable and best doctor

I just had a stapedectomy on my second ear yesterday. I have otosclerosis and Dr Kwartler did my first surgery in February. I had a very good experience. Everyone was very nice and all instructions were clear. I was told that the first few days I'll feel light-headed, dizzy and will lose the sense of taste. I did lose the sense of taste for about three weeks but I wasn't light headed or dizzy. After surgery I didn't feel any pain at all. Now the second time around I didn't lose my sense of taste and feel great. Dr Kwartler went into the ear canal without making any incisions on the outside of my ear. I highly recommend Dr. Kwartler of Summit Medical Group. I have been under his care to address otosclerosis that was causing progressive hearing loss. He is intelligent; very personable, calm and interacts very well with me & my husband - giving us time we needed to go over my diagnosis, treatment options and care. He is a skilled surgeon; the stapedectomy he performed restored my hearing. Dr. Kwartler even called me the day after surgery to check-in.

Dr. Kwartler saved my sanity. For 2 years I have been suffering with the constant sound of my heart beating in my head, the sound of my eyes moving, the sound of my feet when I walk, hearing loss and constant loss of balance. He diagnosed me and performed surgery which has solved all my issues. He took wonderful care of me during an invasive surgery.. cutting into my head. Due to his care and precision I returned home the same day and did not take pain meds. Thanks for my sanity.

After just about a lifetime having difficulty hearing in my right ear, too many ear infections to count, and two surgeries to rebuild bones damaged over the years, I found Dr. Kwartler, who has changed my life. Dr. Howard Taylor (also Summit Medical and a wonderful doctor) referred me to Dr. Kwartler and after having a procedure in January, I regained most of the hearing in my right ear. I went to him for vertigo (and tinnitus) which led to constant nausea. After waiting 3 months for this visit with Dr. Kwartler, he spent only 5 minutes with me before his rushed me out of the room. He barley did any type of exam? Furthermore, my spouse and I found him to be condescending, disrespectful, and uncaring. Also, he seemed annoyed when I asked him a question. My primary then sent me to a vestibular specialist who cared enough to listen, investigate, and figure out the appropriate diagnosis so he can provide the best possible treatment plan. Unlike Dr. Kwartler, this second physician took a thorough history, and performed a comprehensive examination including an array of special tests which he did himself, and another one which he had sent me out for as well. I'm not quite sure about what others really experienced but my experience with him was awesome! He is my son's ENT and he's been nothing but amazing! Dr. Kwartler did my son's cochlear implant surgeries and we've had a long bumpy road and he's been right by our side every step of the way! He has even GONE OUT OF HIS WAY to extend his care to my son! There's no way l would have let a non caring doctor operate on or near my son's brain! If you're looking for an ENT I'd say Dr. Kwartler is the perfect one! Couldn't be happier with his care! While he took time and listened to my issues, at the end of the appointment he summarily dismissed me and gave me a pre-printed migraine headache diet gleaned from the internet. He indicated zero desire to do any additional tests to more specifically ascertain the cause of my problems. After waiting a month for an appointment, needless to say, I was very, very disappointed, dismayed and upset.

He took great care of my daughter. He knows what he is doing. We are very happy with him.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous review. Dr. Kwartler is one of the most caring MDs I've ever met. I am currently seeing him for a CSF leak and he has been outstanding in every way. His staff couldn't be more accommodating as well.
