I hope he doesn’t use the words he used with me …. He told me BEFORE I found out I had stomach cancer that his last patient died 2 years later. No bedside manner.

The front office staff very nice and professional. Dr. Jay was very informative about the procedure and friendly. He showed concern regarding a previous surgery. He is also knowledgeable about how other procedures should be done.

Dr Long took the time to sit with me and give me very detailed information. He answered all my questions and I never felt rushed. His entire staff was so friendly.

Dr Long took his time to explain in details and discuss other options. I was so nervous to visit for the first time. But after meeting Dr Long, and the patience shown. I felt good and was able to ask many questions. I literally left the office smiling..

First impressions are everything! The entire staff was polite, the doctor has great bedside manners and explained his procedure well. Everyone answered any question I had with a smile. My surgery is scheduled!

My sister and I drove from Murfreesboro Tennessee for procedure with Dr. Long. We have received exceptional care since the 1st day we called. The entire staff has been friendly, informative informative, helpful and encouraging. Because of doctor long and his staff, we we are looking forward to an exceptional fashional surgery day and can't wait to our surgery in the morning. We left his office after our pre-op visit with no doubts, no concerns, and no worries. This has been a great experience.

The staff was very professional and the office was very welcoming and comfortable. Dr Long went over everything with me and also gave me a chance to ask questions. Dr Long and his entire team was so great. He took time to answer all my questions and explained everything thoroughly. The ladies at the front desk was also very helpful throughout my journey. Even one I encountered at the hospital for my pre op testing and on the day of my surgery were also very helpful. Not one time was I made to feel like I was a burden or like I was dumb. Dr. Long is very nice, caring, patient, thorough and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable at my pre-op appointment and he assured me everything was going to be fine. I felt so much better and less nervous. I highly recommend Dr. Long.

My visit with Dr Jay Long went well.I am very satisfied I wouldn't want to have anyone else as my weight loss advisor. He is professional, concerned and honest with you about what he think will work for you to get healthy. So If you are looking for a Dr. to do your weight loss surgery give him a call. Dr. Long is an awesome provider and very knowledgeable. I am happy to have him as my surgeon. Only suggestion would be to provide front office staff training and education on bariatrics, customer service, organization, coordination of services, efficiency, and effective communication. The front office is everything towards the success of a provider and I don’t want Dr. Long’s reputation to be effected by untrained staff. My experience leading up to surgery was exhausting to say the least. I felt like I was the one doing all the work communication, follow up, appointments, etc. I requested for Dr. Long to call me; but I don’t think he was informed, at least to my knowledge. Best thing I ever done

Everyone is very nice and Dr. Long is very caring of his patients.

This man (with the help of God) literally saved my life!!!! If you're considering WLS I highly recommend Dr. Long and his staff at Birmingham Minimally invasive surgery

Dr Long keeps his appointment times. He is very patient and informative. He listens to you and answers all of your questions. He also explains the procedure so that anyone can understand. This was my consultation visit.

I had to have a sleeve revision to a bypass. I am so very thankful for Dr. Long and EVERY single Staff member of his office! My sleeve was twisted like a pretzel. Dr. Long is the best! He’s very caring and understanding! I had my surgery done 4-15-2021! His staff was also amazing! Best decision I have ever made!

I don’t think I can call this guy a doctor. He saw me one time a week before surgery and not since. I am having pain and fever 3 weeks after my gall bladder removal surgery. I was released by some nurse practitioner in the office. If I had it to do over, I would use a different surgeon.

Be sure to read the fine print! I never saw him on the day of my surgery-before or after. I had to call his office to schedule follow up appointments after surgery-they never followed up with me. I had to cancel a follow-up appointment due to COVID exposure, and since the quarantine pushed me beyond 90 days, he said it would be $125 for me to be seen outside of the thousands he has already been paid. Once he gets your money and gets you on the table, you are done. I never had any labs or blood work done post-surgery-just conversations with the nurse practitioner. After I agreed to surgery, I never spoke to him or saw him again. That should have been a red flag.

Absolutely the most arrogant doctor I have ever met. I felt very rushed to make decisions. I am self pay and it is a lot of money. I needed time to think about it. I just felt like he was more concerned about the money than of my health. His front staff did not seem very knowledgeable. He was super late and the staff was frustrated as well. The manager was super nice. She checked on patients regular to make sure we were informed. Dr. Long, did my thyroid surgery and did an excellent job because I have keloid skin and my scar healed beautifully. Ive also had cool sculpting and love my treatment and results. I highly recommend Dr.Long. Beside manner is also remarkable and genuine.

His staff was friendly and professional in the waiting room. After his evaluation Dr. Long explained the procedure to correct my hernia, and what would be involved in the recovery phase after surgery. He made sure all my questions were answered. I don't believe I could have been treated any better.
