Was giving eye shots to my aunt to abuse the medicare system. Very abusive.

Dr. Wickens does a great job and very thorough. The wait time is about two hours but worth it in the end! I had vitrectomy with a macula hole repair surgery 4 weeks ago, still recovering but zero pain..

My husband went to him 3 times, after being treated by another retina specialist. During that time Dr. Wickens would ask about his vision and when my husband answered that it was getting worse, Dr. W would say "no it's not, your tests are the same." Meanwhile I can see the OCT results and the picture going from green and blue upon our arrival in October to yellow in November and red this week (January) - each time he refused to treat. I want anyone being referred there to know that another doctor in the same practice was going to make my husband wait a month for a shot (he had just had a retinal occlusion, leaving vision fussy and he worked in finance). The damage that would have been permanent had we stayed . Go somewhere else! They don't care about you or your vision at retina consultants.

I have had a great experience with Dr.Wikens. I was going blind in one eye and have diebetic retnapithay. Dr. Wickens has been treating me for 4 years and now my vision is almost back to normal. O would recommend Dr.wickens for anyone having retina issues, he's a great doctor.

Terrible staff behavior, patients are not treated like human beings. Went with my 92 year old mother for a 9:30 am appointment for macular degeneration. 35+ people in the waiting room, first tech gave eye drops at 10:30, sat in another waiting room for another hour no communication from any staff. Asked for Dr Wickens, finally left at 11:30 with no treatment. Suggest you find a doctor who cares about their patients and keeping up with the appointments you make, these folks clearly do not value your time. With so many people in the waiting room, it certainly looks like they care about their bottom line a lot more than their patients treatments.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wickens for a few years. He is always pleasant and shows genuine concern. I had retinal damage seen by my optometrist and was able to get in right away and have laser treatment on that initial visit. I will always trust him with my eye care.

Dr Wickens is rude, dismissive, uncompassionte, mean, and a horrible clinician! Went to him with decreased vision problem, only to discover I had a retinal tear. He acted like I had completely ruined his day. Preformed a laser procedure on my eye to fix the tear...I got no explanation of the procedure, didn’t sign a consent for the procedure, and no written discharge instructions afterwards. The procedure was extremely uncomfortable, which I got no sedation or analgesia for. He was rough and kept speaking harshly to me to keep my head turned, etc. while jerking my chin up. I was expected to leave immediately after my procedure...my eyes were dilated and I was in pain. The wait time is ridiculous... i was there for 4 hours...I laid on a hard “bed” alone for 30 min before my procedure. The office looks like an asylum and the staff is unfriendly... not one staff member told me their name or was kind. I cannot say enough horrible things about this place!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

I had a recent surgery by him that they said would be painless. That was over a month ago and I have been in pain almost everyday. I am supposed to have more surgeries to finish up my eye, but have no idea what the future holds or for how long. He has not explained anything nor has he helped with the pain. Every time you go visit him you wait for at least two hours and by the time he is ready to see you he is so ready to get out of there that he never fixes the problem or helps you with any questions. I am very disappointed in his workmanship especially because I have such a rare trauma to the eye. Lack of communication and lack of helping with all the pain will not be good for him and his office.

This guy does not explain anything, I've not learned a thing about my macular degeneration problem from him. His service is much worse than the In-Out fast food service!

First-class treatment in all respects.

I'm with Rita in Henderson. He was terrible! The pain during the exam was so intense the tears were running down my face. He was so terse when I didn't move my eye fast enough where he wanted.

I would highly recommend Dr. Wickens! He is thorough, compassionate, & forthright. Yes, the wait time was long for my appt today which he apologized for when he walked in. However, the first time I saw him I had an emergency detached retina that needed immediate laser surgery and I was taken care of in record time. Someone probably had to wait because of me that day and I'm so grateful that I was taken care of so well. Because of that, he is worth the wait. Good care comes first.

Thank you Dr Wickens for reattaching my retina I recommend this doc anytime I had a vitrectomy he's the doc it's been 7 years now amen

Unreasonable wait times are required at his office/clinic. Bring something to read--probably on the order of "War and Peace." You will finish it in one visit/wait. . . .
