My mom has a thyroid nodule. She's an immigrant and english is her 2nd language. I called the office multiple times and left many messages to get more information, no response for 3 days. Two years went by and nobody got in contact with her for a follow-up. She only went back because I reminded her. There were calcifications on her ultrasound that were worrisome for malignancy. He says "no need for a biopsy, follow-up in a year for a repeat ultrasound." I convinced her to get the biopsy. It was positive for papillary thyroid carcinoma. God forbid, an entire year would have went by, it growing, spreading. The shear negligence. A doctor should be watching over, protecting their patients. He clearly faulted here. Dr Cohen saw me regarding an issue with my thyroid that required surgery - scheduling the surgery was delayed due to the pandemic- had the surgery in early june and he was wonderful - recovery has been a breeze. All information I got from him and his great staff was straight forward and accurate. Staff was wonderful and extremely helpful throughout the process from start to finish.

MISDIAGNOSED CANCER (or prolonged undiagnosed?) I was referred when a thyroid ultrasound showed enlarged lymph nodes. In the first visit i was told that if they didn't decrease in size, in a while, they might biopsy for lymphoma -- 6 months later, I'm dying of full blown leukemia and suffocating in my sleep. I was constantly in and out of the office and I just kept being told my WBC count was high but its fine. But I actually had cancer and the lymph node was one of many tumors. I was then referred to local oncologists who wouldn't see me for two weeks. I was rushed into a NYC hospital and told if I couldn't leave because I could die in my sleep and I definitely didn't have two weeks to try any fertility treatments. I would have had that time if they did the small biopsy needed to check for cancer, though. I showed petechiae (sign of leukemia) and was answered with "that's weird, I don't know" by the PA.I only saw any concern when they realized they made a mistake and spent hundreds on copay alone during that time. (Here I would like to add that I'm not making a value judgement on his/their character or as a person, but this was a fatal mistake and I owe my life being saved to my mom, because without her insisting that I wasn't ok - would not be diagnosed because my family and I feel that my condition was not being taken seriously. My mom kept insisting I come in for appointments because I kept being told to go home and wait: but this is the point. I was being told to go home and wait, basically to die, because I was one of those cases of someone slipping through the cracks of, what I can only hope, was just doctors not over-prescribing treatment/procedures for fear of being sued, maybe? That's the only excuse I can make for them, because otherwise, I diagnosed myself better with google but dismissed it because they're the ones with the medical degree and I'm just a biology student with webMD). I added this to emphasize the fact that i can only hope I was a bad mistake, but at the very least, I don't think this was an acceptable/genuinely excusable mistake. While he wasn't mean to me by any means, my mom felt dismissed and I feel that it was cruel to even suggest cancer as a hypothetical on day one and let my tumors grow for 6 months and do nothing but blood work that looks "normal-ish" when it wasn't. it's very possible that it will be on them if I can't have kids now. if my mom didn't take me to another doctor (NYC) I wouldn't be alive. with their recommendations and treatment plans, I would not be alive today. I find that the professionalism at this office to be A rated. Dr. J.Cohen and Dr. A. Ludwin are very professional in their duties to their patients. My experience with them And their staff has made my surgery experience and recovery a success and I thank them all for that.

Dr. Cohen is so smart in his field!! He always puts me at ease seeing him for a visit.

Dr Cohen is the very best in my book. After suffering with hyperparathyroidism for many years he performed the necessary surgery & I now feel great. Dr Cohen is extremely knowledgeable in this field, does extensive testing & answers all your questions with quiet professionalism. From the time you are greeted at the front desk until you leave the staff is friendly, helpful & efficient. I would highly recommend Dr Cohen.

Dr Jason Cohen is not a man of many words; nevertheless he is quite thorough and a very qualified surgeon. He followed me for thyroid issues for 11 years, operated on me 2 times very successfully. I owe my full recovery to the fact that he does a lot of thinking (while others may be smiling and talking) pushes through for answers, up to having my slides sent to Washington DC to confirm the pathologist results. Dr Cohen was great. I was not impressed with his PA. She seems to think “it is fine” is a reasonable answer when asked a question

Spouse visit - very expensive - no results

Dr. Cohen is attentive, thorough, listens to your concerns and is super knowledgeable. I couldn't have had a better first visit. I will be recommending his services to friends and family.

He seemed disinterested.

I was just to see Dr Cohen, I was very disappointed as he came highly recommended to me. He seemed to not be interested in my problem. He did a culture and sent me on my way saying if I wanted to I could go see a new team of doctors in NYC. I felt he didn't want to be bothered Time to find a new ent team.

03/02/2018. Found Dr Cohen very knowledgeable. He explained the complete procedure and examined me thoroughly. Very satisfied.

Dr Cohen has been monitoring a thyroid issue of mine for the past 6 years. I find him to be an excellent doctor. Kind, compassionate, thorough, really listens to my questions and concerns and has provided wonderful care.
