Dr. Janet Susan Philips

Major Red Flag: I’m noticing that since I posted my truthful and accurate bad review of this individual, that this woman has put up many of her clients to write positive reviews about her to offset mine. I’ve seen Ms. Phillips off and on for about a year or two. I chose not to see her on a regular basis since she was a horrible listener and would cut me off mid-sentence always and talk non-stop for >20 minutes at a time. She was also very presumptiuous of me and was often wrong about her analysis about me, despite me telling her upfront my psychiatrist diagnosis. She had me misdiagnosed for more than two years until I brought it up again. See someone else. There’s better out there- much better. This person is a violator if your trust- will tell you one thing and you’ll find out she did the complete opposite after two years. Don’t waste your tome.

I've been a patient of Dr. Janet for over 15 years now. My condition is not curable, but she helps me understand why I do what I do. She has been such and important part of my life that when my husband had to move out of state, I kept her as my therapist; from the East coast! I may have to wait a little longer in the waiting room (or for her call) because she's willing to go over the time if it's needed. She does it for me (often) so I can't complain when she does it for others.

Dr. Philips is a wonderful listener. Very easy to feel comfortable with her during a session. You can contact her any time with a concern and is very knowledgeable in her field.

Dr. Philips is an extraordinary human being, one who is truly dedicated to her life’s work, and cares deeply for those who seek her guidance as a Clinical Psychologist. She allows her clients to lead the way, and then can create that most unique, sought-after, therapist-client space, where trust and sharing of innermost thoughts and feelings brings newfound understanding of past and present. The speed and depth with which Dr. Philips can mirror a painful memory or new awareness is remarkable!

I have been going to Dr. Philips since a young adult and she has helped me tremendously and taught me ways to push through and overcome any issues that arise in my life while not losing my individuality and has helped to embrace who I am. I moved out of the area and tried new therapists and there was none like her. I do a 3 hour turnaround trip to continue my sessions with her because she is that worth it!!! Her front staff is very friendly too!

Dr. Philips, or Janet as I get to call her, is an amazing therapist and human being. She took me on as a patient in one of my darkest hours and has been there for me since. She took my insurance, is understanding, funny, knowledgeable about her field and life in general. She wants you to do the work and get better. She is absolutely amazing.

I lost my son to suicide in January, and Dr. Philips has helped me so much. She is warm and kind, so that I feel completely comfortable talking to her openly, and not only does she listen, but she also relates to my issues to show me how she has used the advice she gives me in her life, and how it has worked for her. She is truly helping me move forward or if the darkest time in my life. She had been a wonderful grief counselor for me.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Philips for over 7 years. She is, by far, the most experienced therapist I have seen. She’s seen me through many difficult times, most recently a hospitalization, during which she made herself available 24 hours a day.

Dr. Phillips is a wonderful human being who cares about her patients. Kind, compassionate, truely listens. Great experience. Have recommended to others.

Dr. Philips is was so effective in helping pull out of my depression and helping me regain my happy life. She was recommended to me by my family doctor. I would whole heartedly recimmend her to my friends.

Dr. Philips is an amazing therapist. She has helped me through some very difficult times and I always leave my appointments with her feeling so muvh bettet. I would recommend her to anyone.
