Dr. James W Verbsky

Took our son there after seeing other specialists. He was the first Dr to properly diagnose our issues. He was amazing. My son is doing great. Thank you! Highly recommended.

We’ve gone to Dr. Verbsky for 15 years. I read reviews about him and can say I’ve never felt he was condescending or rude to us. He’s dry and factual in his remarks. He’s been a good doctor and he’s always been a good listener.

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Verbsky for over 10 years. He was the only Doctor to diagnose my daughter with a very rare autoimmune disorder after seeing about 13 other doctors. He has always been thorough, kind, and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of her care. We are truly grateful that he has provided such incredible care for her. I came to Google to see what others had to say after I had two appointments with Dr. Verbsky over the past two years. Apparently I'm not the only person to have had a poor experience. I have never felt compelled to write a Google review until our last appointment. I love CHW and would recommend nearly everyone I've ever dealt with at Children's Hospital. That being said, I will NEVER return to see Dr. Verbsky. He is rude and lacks even basic people skills. This would be appalling in any doctor, but in a pediatric physician, it's especially disgusting. I'm sure he's used to being patted on the back about how smart he is, since he's one of very few pediatric rheumatologists. I went to him hoping to get some answers about my son's problems. Instead, I got a smug, condescending man. Most importantly, he had ZERO to offer as a physician. I could tolerate a jerk if he was able to help my son. Instead, he flat out told me "I don't know what to tell you" when I pressed him for answers. His goal was to get a paycheck from my son's appointment. Not to actually do any work or build a relationship with me or my son. He is TERRIBLE. Please do not take your children to this man. Go anywhere else. He is arrogant and completely incompetent at interacting with patients. If at all possible, go somewhere else.

He was arrogant and condescending. He was also dismissive of my child's previous diagnoses and spoke poorly of her treating specialists, who happen to be his colleagues at Children's. I would never take my child to see him again nor would I recommend him to anyone else. While I suspect he is a bright man, his ego will keep him from ever being more than a mediocre doctor at best. He was arrogant and condescending. He was also dismissive of my child's previous diagnoses and spoke poorly of her treating specialists, who happen to be his colleagues at Children's. I would never take my child to see him again nor would I recommend him to anyone else. While I suspect he is a bright man, his ego will keep him from ever being more than a mediocre doctor at best.

From birth to age 5 my daughter saw about 8 different doctors to treat very unusual chronic symptoms. Within 15 minutes of our first visit, Dr. Verbsky correctly diagnosed our daughter with a rare auto immune disorder. For the past 8 plus years, she has been a patient of Dr. Verbskys and is doing remarkably well. I am convinced that without his diagnosis, she would certainly not be living the quality of life she lives. I would highly recommend Dr. Verbsky to anyone who would ask.

Dismissive of my daughter's other diagnoses. Made us feel like we were wasting his time.
