Dr. James A Stoever

Dr. Stoever is the most rude doctor I have ever been to! His own staff agreed that he is very nasty! I would never recommend anyone go to him!

Dr. Stoever and his staff were very pleasant to me on my first visit to his office. I drove almost 2 hours to see him because the endocrinologist in my town refused to treat my diabetes in the way my body needed. Dr. Stoever sat down and explained what was going on with the sugar levels and how they go up/down. He changed my insulin and my sugar levels have improved drastically already within 2 days. I adore Dr. Stoever but his office personnel need some work.

I am so thankful my husband is his patient. Dr Stover has been so good with him. He seems genuinely concerned for his well being and has reached out for us to doctors that could help with his problem.His staff has been very helpful. We both recommend him.

I’m surprised by some of the poor reviews on here. Although Dr. Stoever is short and straight to the point, he doesn’t come across rude by any means. And he has been managing my care well. He listens and has an open mind. His office staff are very nice also. One time I had to bring my young son along and he was so good with him and gave him stickers. I’ve had a great experience with him, trying to tackle my thyroid issues. Glad to have found this practice! Terrible rude. Long waits. Work office visit ever

Worst staff in the area. Very rude. They said they “lost” my referral. And said they would “look” for it for over a month. After two months of going round and round they denied my referral because I was not sick enough. Although I’m 31 years old, no period, low estrogen and want to conceive one day.. and they wouldn’t help me.

I agree with all these negative reviews. Though I only went once, I immediately knew I made a mistake after talking with the staff and doctor. Offered very little help for my adrenaline issues. Nobody also seemed to care that we live 1.5 hours away. Waste of time for the most part.

I have been going to Dr. Stoever for over two years for my thyroid and he continues to impress. He is serious but has a great, dry sense of humor. He listens well and is extremely knowledgeable. Not a big fan. Outrageous prices for basic services.

Just left his office for the last time. Condescending and rude.

My gf was his patient until today. I’ve been with her to appointments and he is very condescending, rude and pompous. Doesn’t explain things, doesn’t take 5 minutes to have a basic conversation around the patients condition or treatment. He wants to dictate and prescribe meds, not practice health care and patient interaction. I wouldn’t even recommend him to someone I don’t like. My gf was his patient until today. Dr Stoever refuses to be wrong. He will look you in your eyes and say you do not have what your lab results clearly show you do have. His nurse agreed before he came in. He also told me he wouldn’t “waste his time” with me. So don’t waste your time seeing a rude doctor with no bedside manner.

He is very stern and straight to the point. Do as he instructs you to do and you we get along just fine. I have no problem with him.

Great physician! A teacher as well as a clinician. Thorough. Nicest staff!

Told me he wouldn’t “waste his time” on my labs and explaining them to me, also disagreed with my primary care and refused to explain why just said they were wrong. Very unprofessional and condescending.

He is very patient with me and has already made a great change in my numbers with his great knowledge.

I must agree with the negative reviews of this doctor. He had no bedside manner or compassion. Will not be returning. Bad day maybe? Nah. Don’t think so!

When I first started going to this office I had a pleasant experience. Dr Stoever is not the reason for the poor rating it is his office staff. The girl at the front desk didn’t do her job when scheduling my appointment then wanted to make like it was my fault that they couldn’t fill my Synthroid which is a very important medication I have to take, and if they had a clue they would’ve known that. First time going to Dr. Stoever. I was very please with Doctor and staff... wait time is long which I absolutely hate...my time is valuable... that’s why I scheduled early but other than that... I appreciate a doctor that takes time to explain things. May be why he falls behind and wait time... and I’ll take that.

Dr. Stoever is a caring and great doctor. He works very hard to get his patients on the right track medically. Other reviews said he was rude as well as his staff were rude. Being there just yesterday, I find this totally untrue. Possibly the patient wanted a “babysitter “ for their condition and not a physician. Dr. Stoever has helped me so much with my medical condition. I cannot thank him enough. He is a FIRM and knowledgeable physical. I completely recommend him!

This is a office who cares about money Not your health. My bf went they wouldn't see him as they forgot to collect copay from his last visit. Makes a tad bit of intelligence and customer service to charge 1 copay not 2 and if you can't pay we can't see you, and let you pay the fee they didn't collect on Friday or next week. Dr. Stover is the rudest doctor I've have ever been to!! He needs to be reported and I know he has a boss to answer to!! He definitely does NOT care!!! No bedside manner.. We were obviously beneath him.. Maybe he was having a bad day? As for our experience it was not good. I definitely would not recommend him to anyone . and the person that recommended him to us will be updated on our appointment. Maybe to prevent more reccommendations over all I wish him well. I do not wish anything bad on anyone. But he lost my respect as soon as we were treated and talked to as if we were incompetent. I find Dr Stoever and his staff very professional and friendly. He has a genuine interest in my health and has ordered numerous tests to ensure the proper treatment.

Great Doctor

Great Doctor an awesome staff!

Dr Stoever is to the point. If someone gave bad reviews it's because they didn't do what he said to do to get your body right. Many years I felt bad all the time, not knowing I had so many different vitamin problems. Finally I was referred to Dr Stoever. I'm older and can't run a marathon but he got me straightened out in just 6 months. No huge fancy office and a very professional yet layed back staff. Dr. Stoever is knowledgeable, competent and very thorough. His bedside manner leaves something to be desired; but, I'm okay with it. My only serious complaint is that neither he nor his staff automatically follow up subsequent to lab work or tests that he has ordered for you. Even 2-3 weeks after these events, no one had contacted me with results; so, I had to call them.

I was looking to make an appointment but was asked to hold without so much of a good morning and no acknowledgement of yes or no...she jusy clicked over. I waited five minutes and hung up. Im glad I didn't waste my time going in this office.

First, of all the building is not an easy place to find. The office itself doesn't even have a sign on the door. The front desk person is very unfriendly. I do appreciate that they we able to fit me in when I was late and the second time I got my appointment time wrong. However, having a glass window for her to slide over when she wants to address you in this day in age is ridiculous. Once greeted it is not a pleasant smile or tone that meets you at all (if it was I probably could have cared less about the prison glass). I have been seen twice by Doctor Stoever. When he walked in the room he didn't even take the time to introduce himself to me or even shake my hand. He talked to his assistant (I think is wife) about the meeting that I had with her before he came in the room and said, "so what are we going to try" and to her response, "she is medicine sensitive so I think we should try a lower dose first. Now I was referred to the Endocrinologist because I have full blown Hashimoto. When I asked the doctor what does that mean for me, I kid you not he made it sound like a death sentence to tell me, that basically your body is going to continue to attack itself and we just don't know what form it will do so next. I left, mad, but I had to see him because why, my good old insurance will pay for the visit! So 4 weeks late I go back to get my blood test and then two days later come in to see him again. I had a cold, which his response was for me to keep that on my side of the table. Then we went over my labs and I am within normal levels. Really, one month ago I have a body attacking itself. So did he test my antibodies to tell me how the Hashimoto's is doing. NO!!!!!!! So needless to say insurance or not I will not be going back. I have found a wonderful holistic woman who is giving me hope to get better. I love Dr. Stoever! He really cares for his patients and he holds you accountable for your own health. I needed the kick in the butt and I am grateful he gave it to me. At first he came of as straight and to the point. He still is pretty straight forward, but 4 appointments in and I find him very personable.

Worst doctor I have been to in my entire life, considering I was in the military this says a lot. He is rude, doesn't listen to anything you say and you're treated like another number. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to help manage your diabetes.

I have been a patient of Dr Stoever for over 13 years! I have parathyroid and thyroid disorders and he goes above and beyond to try to help me to have the best life possible. My co-morbidities make me a difficult, complex, and "interesting" patient (my team of doctors words), but Dr Stoever takes the time each encounter we have to listen and answer my many questions. He may seem stoic or even stoic, but underneath that facade is a caring, intelligent, and knowledgeable dr I plan on keeping!

Dr. Stoever was alright, but does not seem to care for his patients.

I informed Dr. Stoever that I didn't want to take a particular medication because of the side effects . Instead of him going back to the drawing board to do his homework and try to find me another medication with less side effects, he made a statement that I will never forget. Dr. James Stoever has no compassion and his bedside manner sucks. He's not personable and he made me feel like a number not a patient. He doesn't care what your particular needs are, he's going to perscribe the mediation that he thinks is best! I left his office determined to never return. I'm the one with the health problem and I'm determined to find another doctor who understands that I have the right to be involved in all the decisions concerning my health.
