Dr. James L Pertsch

I waited on zoom screen for Dr. James L. Pertsch for 49 minutes without any explanation, concern or courtesy. I would have preferred to reschedule. As far as I know, Dr. Pertsch did not even look at my X-rays; because when I asked about my x-rays, he ignored me twice and went onto something else. Barely able to get my last question in about deformed grooved finger nail, I did not feel comfortable to continue with question regarding nail bed discoloration that appeared. I wanted this to be a baseline appointment for debilitating arthritis in my fingers, hands, wrist, and arm accompanied by shooting and severe pain. And to get my questions answered. He asked several questions, only wanting his questions answered and ignored my concerns.Then Dr. James L. Pertsch did not dictate my name correctly for the medical record. By that time, I was ‘shut-up’ as I found this Doctor to be rushed, not listening, unable to record my concerns, and did not share his opinions. More like a QME than a Dr.

Dr. Pertsch does not listen. Does not get one's name right. Kept me waiting for 45 minutes without any explanation. Then 100% dismissive. I would run the other direction if getting a QME from him. Does not analyze and then he summarizes inaccurately. Not good attention to detail. In my opinion, he has abysmal attention to detail and inability to report back precisely. Please go to someone else. Not nice! Did not even look at my X-rays. Or st least when I asked about them, he changed the course of conversation. He did not answer, but ignored my questions. Rushed and terrible mannerisms. Very discourteous.

I was not able to work when I met Dr Pertsch because my thumbs had so much pain. After he worked his magic on my left hand I had my right one fixed and it’s amazing the result. No more pills and they rarely hurt, of corse things were different after but no pain I will take the very very minor restrictions. I also raced my car to my best finish ever in a big event and that takes hand strength . So if you read this it’s worth it just remember to take the time it Took no time to feel the results but the rehab takes a little bit if you do it until it stops hurting and then the result is magnificent thanks for taking the time to read this. Dr Pertsch did a breast reduction and lift. Despite my immediate concerns post surgery - he said “things would settle “. I followed all his pre and post surgery instructions to the letter yet I now have significant puckering on the bottom of both sides and uneven nipples. Dr. Pertsch said he would charge me $8000 to repair what he did wrong -

Very fastidious even for a surgeon; Dr. Pertsch's dedication and concern felt genuine in the beginning and after 7 years I can say unequivocally that he is genuine.JJR

Dr Pertsch is a perfectly fine surgeon however I strongly recommend you avoid his office unless you are independently wealthy and/or enjoy getting screwed over by an obnoxious billing department. My husband saw Dr. P for urgent surgery on his hand. I confirmed with my insurance and his office that Dr. P was in network for our plan. For the next 10 months I got nothing but fraudulent bills from his office. I called my insurance company confirmed that it was in-network and they told me the amount of my co-payments. I sent those payments immediately. For months and months I continued to get bills for thousands more than the insurance company said we owed. I would call and tell them to resubmit the claims and they would refuse. The staff in the billing department seriously have no idea about how to treat people. They seem to regularly confuse their patients with dogs because that is how they talk to people. It's insane. RUN, do not walk as far away from this office as you can unless you want to pay thousands of extra dollars for services. Appt 1 pass 2 still have not seen dr weeks before you can get appt.

Excellent Dr and I'd highly recommend Dr Pertsch for any surgery you're considering.

Dr Persch did a four corner wrist fusion surgery on my left wrist.I was so happy when we first started working together,But he mislead me on everything about my surgery.First my pain level is worse than when I was first injured, but now my wrist doesn't move and it's been six months since surgery .My New doctor just did an MRI and told me I have a wrist of an 80-year-old man,By the way I'm 45 nobody told me anything about this.I was told the pain would start to ease up after about 3 weeksLIAR

Dr. Pertsch is an outstanding, well-trained, highly-skilled surgeon with a professional, warm, compassionate demeanor. He patiently answers questions to alleviate anxiety & to plan a surgery diligently & precisely. My first procedure with Dr. P occurred in '97; now that I've moved from the Bay Area, I will continue to work with him because he's the only plastic surgeon to whom I'd entrust my health & well-being. Simply, he is an expert in his field, the very best who does beautiful work!
