Quick and Painless - the way a Dr. visit should be!

Wonderful doctor. Answers all questions, kind, thorough.

I had a great experience. From the front desk onwards. Waiting not long. I felt the care and concern.

Dr Mc William was very reassuring over my results post op and he has a calm demeanor. His surgical coordinator Jennifer was always great with communication or with answering any questions and his PA Andrea as well. Both offices are clean and efficient. I like the Scarsdale office better because it is more intimate and easy parking.

Unfortunately, Dr. McWilliam was very curt and only spent a couple minutes trying to look at the X-ray and the joint. He was unclear in his directions, and the experience was really awful.

Versus short visit, less than 5 minute not able to conclude

Great Dr he’s attentive listens answers all questions

Pre op meeting with Dr. McWilliam and felt very comfortable. Went over in detail of the pre surgery care and procedure it self. I feel very confident with Dr. McWilliam doing my bunion and hammer toe.

He was very knowledgeable about how my healing was coming along. He followed up on my x-ray as to how it was healing & was pleased with the results.

The office operates very efficiently. Dr. McWilliam is knowledgeable and shows sensitivity to his patients. I trust his approach to repair of ruptured Achilles Tendons. ????????????

Today was my first visit with Dr McWilliams. He spent time explaining my condition based on the Xrays they had taken. He answered my all of my questions. He recommended the next steps for me to take in my recovery. He is nice and I appreciate the time he spent evaluating my case.

So fare after my original visit everything was perfect; from getting me in right the way to see Dr. James to the checking, and Doctor James was very nice and reassuring, the tech and nurses stuff were as well. I can tell a difference as I’ve been with other other Providers for previous injuries before, and this was a top class experience. I hope the recovery and results will be the same! I was seeing in white plain hospital was very polite and helpful.

Prompt, courteous attention from staff. Dr McWilliam was great - clear understanding of everything and plan of care. Highly recommend the service.

Dr.McWilliam surgically reduced my right ankle fracture, I am pinned and plated and consider myself to be so fortunate to have found him for my care. He has continued to follow my recovery for the past six months. My trips to the White Plains office have always been more than satisfactory. They are friendly, competent and extremely organized. I was routinely seen by office staff, routed through x-ray, records and to treatment room, then seen by Physician Assistants and Dr. McWilliam. At every visit I was examined, saw my latest x-rays with review and teaching and physical exam. Dr. McWilliam answered my questions and included my son in our discussions. Following each visit we were able to take necessary documentation for my employer and physical therapy with us when exiting the office. My progress continues and I am grateful for the care I have received. I would encourage anyone to seek Dr. McWilliam for their care. Dr. McWilliam reattached both ATFL and CFL in my right ankle five days ago with modified Brostrom technique. He also put Arthrex internal braces in to protect the repaired ligaments like seat belts. My deltoid ligaments and peroneal tendons were also checked and debrided. Unlike many other surgeons who would have to do open surgery with much slower recovery process. Dr. McWilliam was skilled and confident enough to do the whole surgery arthroscopically with very small wounds and much shorter recovery time. It’s only day five and I can already put weight on my right ankle. For a typical open modified Brostrom surgery without internal braces, your ankle would have to be put in a cast for 2 weeks before you can put any weight on it. Today’s drawer test showed much more stability in my repaired ankle. Can’t wait to start my physical therapy 10 days from now to eventually get back to the court sports that I was able to enjoy years ago. I had a MRI a month ago that confirmed total avulsion of both ATFL and CFL in my right ankle. Which explained my chronicle ankle instability ever since a major ankle sprain in 2013. I’ve been researching the surgery and doctors extensively in the past few weeks. Consulted a well reviewed surgeon before seeing Dr McWilliam, that doctor is only comfortable doing the surgery openly and didn’t include internal brace in the surgery plan until I asked about it through after visit email.Not exactly keeping up with the latest medical advances. On the contrary, Dr. McWilliam has been pushing boundaries in ankle ligament reconstruction surgeries and has released instruction videos and given talks about the latest advances in this subject. I’m very lucky to be able to find Dr. McWilliam and live only 10 min away from his office. He listened to my complaints attentively and answered all my questions clearly during my first visit. Laid out a surgical plan with great details and offer to do the whole surgery arthroscopically. It was an easy decision to make, two days later, he did the surgery on my right ankle. I couldn't have been more pleased with Dr McWilliam and the office. Scheduling an appointment was easy, the staff was polite and helpful and Dr McWilliam answered all of my questions and explained the process well. I don't need surgery at this time but if I did I would feel confident with him as my surgeon.

I had my left foot operated on 11 years ago. Great job. I'm very active and I can do whatever I want. So when I had another injury there was no hesitation on my part who I would go to. He listens to me and we discuss what to do together. Staff is great.

I'm not a new patient to Dr James McWilliam. He did a big reconstruction of my right foot, I think @ 7 years ago. He was always with Specialty Orthopedics in Harrison,NY. I guess he switched over to WPH Physicians Associates. So I found him due to a recent injury to that foot which is really swollen and painful. I have full trust in him after all these years. He really knows his profession excellently!! And I'd recommend him to anyone!! I love everyone at Specialty Orthopedics...they're excellent and super caring as is Dr McWilliam whom I met there. But I have to admit that I'm relieved he's at WPH now, because that has always been my hospital of choice since moving to Westchester in the late '80's!! I was seen by four people for x-rays, medical records, etc. Dr McWilliam spent a lot of time with me going over my x-rays and options. Dr. McWilliams repaired my torn Achilles (October 2021) and i am VERY happy with how things are turning out. He was very aggressive and THOROUGH with my physical therapy treatment plan which had me walking and out of any boot or crutches in only 2 months. After having an emergency ankle injury this week, I had a consult w/Dr. McWilliam and found him direct, with a plan of care that both reassured me and hopefully will ensure a speedy recovery and prevent further injury.

Horrible horrible experience! Staff clueless to doctor's notes also. I came in with medium pain situation and a year later under this doctor i am in suffering pain. Had surgery and I'm worse with huge keloid scars. He rushes and is in and out. Is not very caring; maybe unless you're a professional athlete. He's terrible. I had a left foot Bunionectomy some years ago by Dr. McWilliams. He placed a pin in my foot and it wasn't necessary. Years before that, I had a right foot Bunionectomy and the right foot was worse than the left. My right foot has healed with no pin, without scars and is virtually straight. But my left foot still has scars and has not straightened significantly in comparison. If I could give him less than one star, I would. He's terrible. Horrible experience. His office at Specialty orthopedics at Harrison is a mad house. Staff are very rude and disrespectful to patients. Doctor was unfriendly and does his practice in a rush without adequate communication with patient. he needs to be more caring and compassionate to the patients. His office staff in New Rochelle are absolutely rude and disgusting. I can't believe in 2019 health physician secretaries speak to patients as if they are incompetent and/or below them. He should really consider re-training them in office management or just re-hiring new staff in general. Harrison office staff however, are very lovely and actually help patients with their queries and follow ups. The doctor is not bad himself but unfortunately his staff are a representation of him. I had ankle arthritis that kept me from walking. I had ankle replacement surgery and was almost immediately pain free. I actually went skiing this winter. Nice office, courteous staff.

Dr. McWilliams is a great Doctor! He took great care of my son, and now I am seeing him. He gets to the root of the problem and is very thorough. He is quick, and can give a diagnosis based on his experience. He also orders MRI's right away, which is something other doctors hesitate to do. Sold me a shoe insert to alleviate arthritic pain in my left foot for $81. Not only didn't work, but within 2 days crippled my right knee! If he didn't understand the linkage between muscles, bones and arthritis, he should've referred me to an appropriate dr. instead of guessing his best. Refused to refund the $81. So disappointed in this practice.

I suffer with plantar fasciitis. Dr. Mc William fitted me with orthotics and my feet feel the best they’ve have in years. His staff were very professional and did a great job of fitting the orthotics to my feet. Highly recommended.

This BUTCHER DR.JAMES MCWILLIAMS told me he was going to put in 4 screws in my ankle. After I got home from my surgery I was praying just to die from the pain ( FOR REAL). I called his office at least 12 times and begged a call back over the next 5 days .I never got all back or a courtesy call after my surgery to see how I was doing or alive,nothing at all.This Dr James McWilliams never gave me any prescription for anything to sleep. After 5 days without sleeping from the pain.I swore in those days I thought I was gonna die of a heart attack with 110 % full on ANXIETY ATTACKS !! NOBODY IN HIS OFFICE STILL ANSWERES THE PHONE or calls back. I get to the emergency room I tell the nurse my situation,I got 4 screws in my ankle + 50 staples in my leg my Doctors office wont answer 12 messages back & I haven't slept in 5 days.She said after the surgery why didnt you tell them, In the follow up call.I said I never got a follow up call after my surgery & they haventsnswered 12 messages back either.SHE WAS SHOCKED SHE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A LOUSY AFTER CARE SURGERY SERVICE !! Or ever heard of anything worse than this doctors office . Now the nurse gets my X-Ray back and asks me how many screws did you say you have in your foot ,I said the Dr McWilliams said he was putting in 4 screws.She says count along with me here,as we count there are 24 screws, 2 wedges. She said your doctor NEVER told you he put in 24 screws ? I said not at all. And with all this hardware screwed into your leg he never gave you anything to sleep.Even for 1 to tooth you can get sleep aids for a few days.Yet he chopped,sawed & screwed into your leg for several hours, and gave you nothing to sleep or ever answered your ankle or a common courtesy call back after your surgery, DAMN !! This is how I found out I had 24 screws in my ankle. I went back for my visit 2 months later this Doctors office had no clue of what I went through. When I told Dr McWilliams what I went through your secretary MARIA never called me back .He basically said its o.k let's finish this visit I'm going to fire her this week.What a joke,no doctor fires there main secretary for that.Now I knew he was just playing with my situation & really didnt care at all. In my visit he came in looked at my leg 3 minutes left and said to the attendant get the room ready with the next patient.Im trying to put on my socks and there telling me go to that room and put on your socks in there.It was a supply closet with nothing but boxes in it.Empty boxes,junk & supplys.They didnt even give me the 5 minutes to get dressed.Only in the closet, this place doesn't even treat you like a patient.I was moved around like A CATTLE CAR OFF TO THE SLAUGHTER HOUSE !! They dont care about you as a patient.This wouldn't happen if DR MCWILLIAMS showed them that he actually cared.They were taking out my staples and they forgot to take out 2 of them. Than when I called them you rushed me out and didint take out 2 of my staples.I was told you cant walk in and do this we dont have any appointments for 2 months.I said this is not my fault & know the staples hurt they must come out. They wouldn't even accomadate for there OWN MISTAKES !! DONT BLAME HIS NURSES BLAME THE DR JAMES MC WILLIAMS PERSONAL CONCENTRATION CAMP !!!!!!!!!!! They only do as they are told !! One of them told me he's seriously nasty with all of us !! I hate this place !!
