Dr. James Merideth May

I am a retired veteran. I am seeking mental health desperately and Doctor May refuses to see me as a patient after listing my feelings like depression, PTSD, and trouble sleeping due to nightmares from multiple combat deployments. Is this where we are in America? We can't help veterans when we reach out for help? Do you know how hard it is to ask for help and then get turned down? Dr. May , hands down the best psychiatrist around.

I've been seeing Dr. May for over a year and had telephone appointments with him during the worst of COVID. He listens, he understands, and he's a normal human. A rare find. His office staff member Tina, and now Samantha, are great people, also, and are very efficient and personable. I feel fortunate to have found Dr. May.

Terrible doctor. Doesn’t listen and doesn’t care. I had to fire him.

I have seen Dr. May since 91 and he is a great doctor!!!

Although I was not personally a client with Dr. May, my partner was. He treated us with class and the upmost respect when another doctor left us out to dry. I'm not sure if Dr. May retired or not, but he truly lives by the doctors creed.

So far, he has been fantastic. No other psychiatrist communicates like he does. You discuss things, he explains things, talks about solutions. An uncommon trait in this area, as far as psychiatrists go. A+++

Dr. May is a great doctor. He suggested a new medication that worked without the severe side effects I suffered from the medications prescribed prior. Also he did not attempt to keep me overmedicated as some have in the past. Very kind and easy to talk to. Two thumbs up. ????

Dr. May has been a great physician for me. He and his staff are kind and compassionate. He works until he finds a solution. Office hours are limited, but he is always on time. He is frank, but he gets the job done. Note: he will not honor refills faxed from pharmacy. You must see him in office for refills.

doesnt care for patients on a personal level.its just a job. unfortunately the dr who referred me to this man moved onto work in an ER or id have never switched.. after trying various medications dr mays told me he didnt know what else to try, which is when i brought up a suggestion a friend made to me. he then went on to tell me about how great that particular medication was and went ahead and prescribed it. so really i fixed myself, all he did was write out the prescription. if it hadnt been for my friend at that time, i wouldve gotten nowhere with this help. im terminated for missing an appointment even tho its been due to my instability. feel free to go here, but only if your problem or condition is less serious than mine. i never felt that this doctor understood me as a person, nor do i feel he cared to. doesnt care for patients on a personal level.its just a job. unfortunately the dr who referred me to this man moved onto work in an ER or id have never switched.. after trying various medications dr mays told me he didnt know what else to … More

Very compassionate and caring doctor. Took the time to really listen and give feedback.

I drive from Houston for appointments. I have been going to Dr. May since 1994.
