I have never heard such a horrific story. My in laws have gone to see this doctor twice, and the first time he ordered an ultra-sound. They returned and he tells his secretary to send them away, and he refuses to see them. My in-laws are the nicest humans ever and have been struggling with a lot with medical - father in law is in a lot of pain and just want to be able to resolve the situation with his blood flowing to his legs. My mother in law, was in complete shock at the way he just wanted to throw them out of his office, with no kindness and explanation, no sympathy what's so ever, she came home with so much shock, saying her blood sugar is so high because she has never hear of a doctor reacting in this manner no matter what the case of refusal. She believes he's acting this way because he doesn't want to deal with their insurance. My father in law has kidney failure receives dialysis and has no blood circulating to both his legs, and is in excruciating pain, had already gone through the emergency route and they instructed him to see a specialist, which to conclude why he went to Dr. James Burks for immediate medical attention, this doctor does not care about malpractice. Is it because they are foreign and their English's is off?

Dr Burks saved my father’s life and allowed him to be with us for another 3 years after doing so. He is incredibly kind, very knowledgeable, explains in detail but easy to understand, and a stellar human all around. I am so thankful for him.

I have taken my dad to every vascular surgeon in the Valley and am so happy to have found Dr. Burks. He is extremely well qualified and a genuinely kind person. That's why I'm convinced the few negative reviews (vs. ALL of his stellar ones) are fake, most likely from his competitors. I'm glad I went with my gut and took my dad to Dr. Burks. He was recommended by my primary doctor after I was unhappy with another surgeon who wasn't helping me. He is very professional and solved my problem right away.

I recently took my uncle to see Dr. Burks for leg pain and a wound. He told me that his arteries were too blocked to do anything about it. He basically told me there was nothing to be done and more or less dismissed my questions about other options. I went to see another physician to did a procedure on my uncle and cleaned out his arteries and his wound has healed. I would strongly encourage people to get a second opinion if you go and see this doctor.

Dr. Burks is not a good doctor. He told my father he would need to have his leg amputated. I went to another local doctor who easily saved his leg. Make sure you get a second opinion if you see this doctor.

I found this physician quite irrational. I elected to see him for a second opinion. His views were completely different than 3 other physicians I have consulted with. His is the only physician I encountered that recommended surgery without further testing. Simply put, I would avoid him.

I went to see Dr. Burks for a sore on my foot. He told me that there is nothing he could do because all of the blood vessels in my feet were blocked. He told me that I would likely lose my foot. I went to see another vascular radiology doctor who opened up my the vessels and the sore healed in less than a month. I would not recommend this doctor. I really question this skill and judgement.
