Very abrupt, very dismissive. Spent less than 5 minutes with on each of our 2 visits. Never felt like he was interested in listening to my concerns. Seemed most interested in getting us out of the office quickly to move on to the next patient. Will not be returning.

The scheduling was easy and fast. The staff were pleasant including the radiology staff. Dr. Barsi was nice and concise.

Incredibly warm and welcoming all around. Provided thorough explanations and expectations and spoke to the patient in terms she can understand instead of just speaking to the parent. Highly recommended! Great experience.

My 14 year old daughter do track and had pain around the hip area during practice. The next day I called Stony Brook Orthopedic and they scheduled her in for that evening at 4:30pm. Before I could finish paper work she was called to the back, and within 5 mins she was taken for x-ray and less than 5 mins the Dr came in. I loved the fact that we didn't have to sit and wait a long time and the Dr was very nice along with the staff that served us. Thank you for not blaring the TV program in the waiting room and not sure if it’s an option but it’s always appreciated when we can leave our cell number and wait outside until it’s our turn if there’s a wait. We would love to learn more anatomy and physiology perhaps with posters and/or knee, shoulder, ankle models. But most of all, Thank you for a quick and easy visit full of respect and kindness. Very satisfied with Dr. Barsi. It was very easy scheduling an appointment for my son, which was within two days time. We didn’t wait long to see Dr. Barsi after arriving. He was very attentive and was explaining everything to me while examining my son. He also provided a doctors note without me even asking for one. Great Doctor! Friendly and took time to speak to me and my daughter. I didn’t feel rushed and was so happy with the office. Everyone there is genuinely kind and caring. It’s hard to find such a friendly office. (Reception area, Secretaries, nurses and doctor’s combined) They also have an emergency orthopedic office next door. You can walk in and not wait days to see an orthopedic. I used to bring my family to Orlin and Cohen…. My daughter had a buckle fracture per PM Pediatrics and when I called Orlin and Cohen, they told me the only available appointment they had was a week out. This also wasn’t the first time I got the run-around from them. I will never go back there again. I found my family’s new Orthopedic doctors !!! Great Doctor! Awesome bedside manner! So kind, thorough and knowledgeable.

I went to Stony Brook urgent care orthopedics for my son. Staff was extremely accommodating and had him see the hand specialist (Dr Barsi) My son was seen quickly for what I thought was a broken pinky, but was just a sprained & badly bruised pinky. Excellent bedside manner & took his time. Very kind & caring.

I wish I could choose more than 5 stars!!! My daughter Margaret loves visiting Dr. Barsi and seeing his assistant Miss Kim and his PA Miss Arielle. The entire visit always goes so smoothly. The medical assistant brought us into the exam room exactly on time and even had some princess stickers for her. The doctor made my child feel so at ease she even gave him a big hug on the way out. I took my 5 month old to see Dr. Barsi. I walked in very anxious and nervous but he answered all my concerns throughly. He was very knowledgeable and I walked out feeling so much better. We have used Dr.Barsi unfortunately a few times. Not saying unfortunately due to Dr.Barsi just the reasons we ended up meeting him (a few broken bones here and there, knee issues, surgery for my son included plates and screws). He is a great Doctor, great bedside manner, very thorough, he is very knowledgeable, and I felt my son when he has his surgery with Dr.Barsi was in the best of hands. I would never see another orthopedic for my kids. Hands down Dr.Barsi is the best orthopedic doctor around! Also the office personal is truly very helpful and kind which is always am added bonus! Dr. Barsi is fantastic! My entire family has seen him. I have never had a problem getting an appointment with him. He is extremely thorough and listens to our issues. He is very down to earth and talks directly to my kids about their issues, which I love. His Administrative Assistant Kim is extremely pleasant and very helpful. This office continues to operate in prestige professionalism, friendliness and courteousness. Making an appointment was really easy. I spoke to Antigone on 02/13/20 she provided very flexible options for me as to schedule with school for my son. Rebecca Fellar was very efficient organized and respectful. We were seen promptly. We met with Erin Cain prior to the dr. She was very professional and provided a very comfortable setting for my son. Dr.James Barsi expertise in orthopedic treatment has been very productive in results. First was orthotic braces which provided a great decrease in walking on his toes. The second phase was prescribed insoles for arc support. Made by East Coast Orthotic & Prosthetic Corp. by Dr.Price in Stonybrook 14 Millstream Lane Dr.Barsi evaluated my son for the walking on the balls of his feet since early walking years. He was very thorough in the evaluation both times-spoke on a level of understanding. My son referred to physical therapy provided treatments by Island Sports Physical Therapy Dr.Kevin Roden in Coram. My son has bilateral clubfoot and had difficulty with the ponsetti or dobbs bar. Dr. Barsi's was one of the first doctors to really hear our concern and his AFO solution was perfect and solved a long term problem for us. Dr. Barsi is great with his patients and parents. Highly recommended.

I cried hysterically in his office because I was terrified my son wouldnt be able to walk. Til this day, he gives me such confidence with son and takes such good care of him! Stonybrook medicine sucks. They are just a huge corporation who treat you like a number not a patient. Calling to make appointment is painful, I’ve been on the phone for over 10 min waiting to get someone on the phone to make an appt. I even selected the option for other another medical office or physician and got the same non ending waiting on hold with the most annoying music. Never a human on the phone, just a generic call center with no one to answer the calls. individual owned doctors offices are better, and I will be changing doctors real soon. Stonybrook even took over my pediatrics office in Port Jefferson Station and that Office is now part of the endless waiting on hold just to make an appt. Stonybrook Medicine sucks. Dr. Barsi is kind and has a great manner with kids and adults. He answers all questions and is reassuring. He is cautious with his care and does not push for interventions when not needed. No surgery experience with him.

Excellent bedside manner, takes his time and answers all questions! I never feel rushed My 2 daughters are gymnasts and are injured frequently. Dr. Barsi is amazing!

Very personable, excellent bedside manner and very thorough.

Misdiagnosed, uncaring, and horrible bedside manner. These are only a few words to describe the care (or lack of) I got with Dr Barsi. He didn't even look at me and wanted to operate on me! As it turns out I didn't need the operation and was completely misdiagnosed. The operation he was recommending would have ended my career. I would never recommend Dr Barsi.
