Please read this before you sign on. Be careful that you don't end up like me. He was very thorough and took his time during the diagnostic part. He made me feel very comfortable. Of course it didn't hurt that he and I had a Massachusetts connection, even though he was treating me in Virginia. He was willing to work around my grandmother's 100th bday, which most surgeons are too full of themselves to care about. He did the surgery and apparently it went well. I saw him in the hospital the next day and he was supposed to come back one more time, but he didn't. I never saw him again. Two days before I was supposed to have my post op follow up appt., he disappeared. His practice refused to take over his patients. Apparently he left the practice and the area with zero notice. Maybe he went back to Mass to be with his wife and kids? Maybe he went to the UK for his parents? Maybe he is just a jerk? Who knows... I blame his practice for blowing all of us off, but him too for not caring enough to drop a letter or email either himself or through an assistant. I was left with ZERO after care. I had no doctor to speak to when two of my incisions got infected; to tell me when I could start introducing foods back into my diet; what foods to avoid forever. That surgery was more than 6 months ago and I am still not sure if things have progressed/are progressing as they should. I had this surgery 4 years before this one and that surgeon blew me off too and all the work came undone causing me to have to have the surgery a second time. Imagine how I feel about getting blown off twice? I give him one star for his bedside manner leading up to and immediately following the surgery. I give the other one because I am relatively sure that things were done correctly this time. However, it's only been 6 months. Ask him about this before you sign up for him to treat you.
