Horrible experience! Unethical doctor!

Horrible. i went there recomended by someone because i wanted to get a allergy test and a sensitivity test. I went paid $500 beccause i wanted to get a allergy test which they dont do there but they can prescribe. They told me that would take two days and after four days i started calling, emailing and texting Ramone the nurse that told me to wait for the test. on the tenth day after waiting i emailed them complaining and they had the other nurse calling me yelling at me and asking why i was blaming her i think her name is claire i am not sure and i told here not to yell because i am her client and she got angry and hung up on me. And the other nurse said she couldnt help me... Totally unprofessional place. Horrible experience. Do not go there.!!!

Dr. Slavin was terrific. Knowledgeable, sensitive, informative… I immediately felt at ease – and felt confident in my receiving expert medical care. Staff was great, too. Walked away, very impressed w. the overall experience. HIGHLY recommend.

Dr Slavin & his staff are amazing. I've been going to Dr Slavin for about three years. I have never been so healthy. His staff is caring & always ready to assist you in every way. They make sure you feel welcome & that you are provided with the best of care.

Fortunately I had a completely different experience then the person who wrote the last review. I had extensive bloodwork and I realize that in order to find the underlying cause of my issues that bloodwork is necessary from all the books I’ve read about functional medicine. I didn’t see any bloodwork from a company called Empire. So they must not be using them anymore! My insurance covered everything . As far as him spending time with his patients I know I have to wait a long time to go into see him but he gives me just as much time as he gives everybody else! I don’t find him to push vitamins he gives me the basic ones I need and I don’t find them to be more expensive than any other medical grade vitamin of the same quality . Thank God for Dr. Slavin or we’d all be on meds suffering from all the side effects!

DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY HERE!! Let me start off by saying that I have given this office over 6 months to assist me with this issue and it still has not been resolved. I say this to let anyone reading this know that they have had a fair chance to right their wrongs but have still not done so. Last year I went for my annual check up, they ran a whole list of unnecessary blood work through my then insurance Aetna. They told me it would all be covered. Afew months later I then get a bill totaling roughly $1600. Keep in mind I specifically told them that I work for a company where I get discounts on blood work. I said this to them letting them know IF SOMETHING IS NOT COVERED LET ME KNOW so that I can pay for it on my own through my company. They ASSURED ME THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. So I receive my $1600 bill and forwarded it to them for clarification as advertised by the many signs in their office. After a few weeks they claimed to have resolved the issue and claimed that I would not have to pay anything. This is all documented in a voicemail which I still have from the office itself. So me being the skeptic that I am decided to call the lab they used (Empire City Labs) who then told me my account had a zero balance so I was pleased...or so I thought. At the start of 2020 I began getting the same bill sent to me again, so I called the lab and they said that for whatever reason I still owed roughly $1600 to them and to liaise with Dr. Slavins’ office to find out what was happening. After weeks of calling and unanswered emails, they said that they are reaching out to their rep at the lab to sort it out. This was MONTHS ago. Every time I call there is some excuse that they are still waiting for the response from the rep and they can’t do anything in the meantime. I am absolutely DISGUSTED by the lack of professionalism at this office and I feel as though 6+ months has been ample time for this to be resolved. I really hope that this does not happen to anyone else. I am all about fairness and if this is resolved I’ll be happy to update this saying so. Until then however I caution you to not visit this office unless you want to spend ridiculous amounts of money on overpriced and unnecessary labs.

Dr Slavin orders the most sophisticated lab work, all geared to improve my health and well being. Lab work ordered measures vitamin levels, mineral levels, viruses, and some lesser known tests. All are used to help modify my diet and be the best I can be. We are what we eat.

i do not like anything about this office.

Calls often go to a recording. Staff at front desk are pleasant but unfortunately this is the only area where a rating is good. We were told our appointment was with one of the PAs but when it finally came to a PA greeting us for appointment, it was not the scheduled Sheila. While the meeting appeared to go well, all confidence was lost in follow-up. Calls not returned. Medication supplement never sent. Bloodwork order never faxed to requested office.

I addressed one of these "issues" by going to a dermatologist after Dr. Slavin said he wouldn't count on these other dr's and it out to be skin cancer.I also had some deep lumps and am waiting for the ultra sound results. Additionally, I'm glad he won't just write a script without first being tested . I felt I needed testosterone and he wanted my PSA and levels. My last doctor didn't and it could have been dangerous. I trust Dr.Slavin ans his staff.

Most of his staff have always been very helpfull.

Dr Slavin has excellent staff, if you have a question or a need all you have to do is call or come in and its handled. Sarah NP,is always available and is resourceful in her options on care. I always recommend the office to people when they are not feeling well to help them get their blood work completed and see where they may be deficient in the needed vitamins.

Great office, great staff, always get my answers to all my questions

Dr. Slavin has been open minded and willing to listen, where other doctors just dismissed my situation. He is willing to work with you, as far as doing additional testing you may want (Igenex, etc), and also offers many alternative treatments that are hard to find. Operates in the interest of his patients health, willing to listen and spend extended time with patients explaining lab results and other information.

He treats me like an old fashioned doctor would have, spends all necessary time explaining and discussing my isues in a very relaxed easy ti understand way

The Doctor always offers more information that is very helpful and he is very friendly and never rushes. A very kind man. The girls are also very kind and helpful and very sweet. We love them all. :))

I use this as my primary care office for 10 plus years of medical care I love that Dr. Slavin always has time to listen and answer my questions

It's tough to find a holistic doctor who would rather treat issues with nutrition than drugs. We were lucky to find Dr. Slavin after reading about him in a book. He has balanced my hormones and continues to provide care without artificial drugs. We appreciate his nutrition-based health care approach.

I have been a patient for 1 month. It is impossible to get hold of anybody in that practice via phone and they never answer my emails. I had 2 visits with the nurse practitioner and the creams she prescribed to me did not work. I called after several attempts and was not allowed to have an appointment with the doctor himself. They force me to see the nurse practioner, spend more money on the creams 2 months at a time whether it works or not.. A money hungry practice..!
