Heidi Torocsik

This is the absolute worst doctor I’ve ever encountered. As the other reviews mentioned, she does not seem to like kids or adults for that matter. After waiting 6 hours in the ER to see a neurologist about my daughter’s lethargic behavior after a seizure, Dr. Torocsik and her ARNP came in and made an already difficult situation worse. Her line of questioning was asinine and I felt not related to the reason we came into the ER. I left with more questions than answers about my daughter’s condition after speaking with her. As a special needs parent, having support and care from healthcare professionals is very important and unfortunately Dr. Torocsik does not provide this for her patients.

Dr. Torocisk cared for my daughter for about 7 years. During that time my daughter progressed from many of her medical issues including anxiety, ADHD, nerve pain and learning/development delays. She was my son's neurologist from age 4 almost until he became an adult. I'm truly grateful that she was his doctor because she gave my son exceptional care and treatment. As a mother who saw many doctors throughout my son's childhood into adulthood, I can truly thank God that my son had her. I wish she saw adults because my son would still be her patient. I would love to write a great review about Dr. Torocsik, because she has been wonderful with my son. However, I am giving this a 1 star because I just tried to get an apointment and literally was told that there are no available appointments (telehealth or in person) with Dr. Torocsik until August, 5 months away, and even if I wanted to make an appointment that far in advanced, her "calendar is not opened yet." This is crazy, and I understand being busy, but 5 months for an existing patient? Unfortunately, I cannot wait 5 months to have my son seen, so I have no choice but to find a new nuerologist, after having Dr. Torocsik see him for years. Starting over with a new doctor is never easy, but when you are forced to do it because you literally cannot get an appointment with your current doctor, well that is just extremely frustrating. I am sorry Dr. Torocsik...I love how you are with my son, but I have to say how disappointed I am that we can't even get in to see you. I saw a previous negative review about Dr torocsik and I must say I took it personal. Dr Torocsik has been my son's neurologist for over a decade. She's one of the most amazing doctors I know. Thank you Dr Torocsik on behalf of Aiden and I.

She took the time to talked to my son even play with him. She talked to me in very simple words easy to understand to a Spanish speaker. Then we had a teleconference appointment that was very good too. I recommend her.

Dr is very caring and examines my child at every visit and listen to her. She is very good and is treating my daughter with ADHD

Dr Torocsik has been great with my daughter who is 10 and has ADHD and reading disability. She put her in the right medicine. She really pays more attention to children than other neurologist my daughter has seen. She examines her very well every visit. Is friendly with her and with us. The staff is amazing as well as the physicians

We had a GREAT experience with this doctor and I definitely would recommend her. She took her time examining Mr daughter and answering ALL my questions... even the ones that were not related to the issue we were having. She definitely was 110% kid friendly and made my 7 year old feel comfortable and asked her lots of questions too. She was very knowledgeable and really took her time explaining things in a way I understood....not just blabbing doctor talk. We had seen many many doctors, therapists, specialists and I can definitely say this doctor is probably one of my favorites and I have already recommended her to my daughters OT..... I agree with the parents below. I have been seeing her for my child the past 2 years but haven't gone on a regular and was happy when we were refereed because I then actually ran into a doctor who cared, who took the time out to better explain appose to just saying I don't have the time its medical it would take me forever to get you to understand. .and even when I pushed to help me understand I was talked down to.. kinda bothered me but I figured deal with it since the reviews said she was really good.. she doesn't seem to be t0o kid friendly idk why she is in pediatrics. once she has her mind set , that's what it is and nothing else can be ur childs issue. didnt find out until further testing such as an eeg and mri that showed my child had abnormalities' in the brain. these are our kids, idk why she doesn't seem to have a heart and empathy to help us. they have probably increased the # of patients so maybe that's why her quality dropped because b4 I saw her read a lot of reviews on her 2 yrs ago and they seemed good. I would NOT recommend this doctor. We took our daughter to see her hoping to be treated for Lyme Disease she contracted 8 months eariler while in Connecticut. Since South Florida doctors are unfamiliar with Lyme , we took our daughter to Boston Childrens to be diagnosed seven months after being infected. We came back home to Florida hoping to have her treated and cured. Dr. Torocsik seemed to never really be on board with the Lyme Diagnosis, inspite of the letter from Boston Children's and even though my daughter had all the symptoms, positve trending blood work, and other diseases had been ruled out. Instead of treating her she insisted on doing a spinal tap first to confirm the diagnosis. My 11 year old underwent this painful procedure. After waiting weeks for the Lyme results to come back, the doctor called us only to tell us the machine that does the actual Lyme test of the spinal fluid had been out of order and testing the fluid for Lyme could not be done. So my little girl underwent this painful and invasive procedure for nothing. We have since gotten her treated by another doctor and she is on the road to recovery no thanks to Dr. Torocsik. It seems like she doesnt have a knack for children. She didn't ask me any questions on how I felt about the therapy she suggested. I even asked for more information or alternatives and it was like do or die. Parents are scared more than children. They are oblivious to most things. It's a parents job to protect their child and moy be so quick to shove a pill down their tgrist because a doctor writes a prescription. It seems like she doesnt have a knack for children.
