Absolutely frustrating had to go back 7 times I unfortunately live almost 2 hrs. Away So you can see my frustration miles driving and price of gas!! Absolutely unwarrented!! 7 times really?? Anyway very frustrating! I wish sometimes I never had her remove my cataracts my vision is now not much better than before her procedure! She also seems very hurried each visit with her besides surgery she might have spent maybe 3-4 minutes with me!! No wonder her waiting room seems always full!

NOT GOOD AT ALL!! I went to Dr. Skeens for cataract surgery what a nightmare had to go back 7 times!! That's right 7 times 18 hours of drive time not to mention the price for gas for the 7 trips!! Still having vision problems blurry vision which she said the YAK procedure would definitely fix because post-op capsular haze was a common symptom well now my vision is now just as bad or worse than before she did the cataract surgery! Each and every time she saw me she might have spent 3 or 4 minutes with me definitely seemed very hurried made me feel like cattle had other people tell me they felt very hurried also not very professional in my opinion!!

Terrible organization. Wouldn’t recommended care here! The doctor has the worst attitude I’ve ever seen!

My husband paid for his appointment. Then he had to pay $50 to get his prescription for glasses. Her office does sell glasses, so you have to go elsewhere. Therefore you have to pay the $50–or you can’t get glasses. No other doctors charge to get your prescription. So unethical !

Ms. Skeens removed my cataracts and implanted lens on both eyes. I went back and had them polished once. She said would never need it again. My vision is terrible. Has been since she installed. Told me my implants were fine and my vision is good. I have great difficulty reading even with reading glasses. My warning sign should have been when she told my daughter she had never heard of such a thing as monocular vision... Red flags for this provider for sure!!! When you were with AIO many years ago you took care of my husband, Richard Croyle. Never have I seen such a caring Doctor. How I wish you were closer. After seeing this my husband wants to come there :)

My Cornea Transplant went well with 3 months to next appointment during recovery. Dr. Skeens caught something in her notes that saved me from a mistake on my part that may have cost losing that transplant. Not sure many would have caught that late in the evening after a long day at the office. I am thankful.

I have to say that Dr Heather Skeens is not only pretty and a heart of gold, but she is the best cornea replacement surgeon God has ever created. Her staff is kind and I think the world of her. I had a procedure done in January of 2021. They’ve been exceptional every step of the way through the recovery. Every member of the staff is great. Dr. Skeens is kind and empathetic. She explained my procedure thoroughly and made sure I understood. I would recommend her highly. I had a corneal transplant. And she did a wonderful job.

I had a family member has a sudden reduction in vision and gave the office a call. Cayla was very helpful and knowledgeable and she was able to give us an appointment right away. When we arrived, the entire staff took COVID-19 very serious, but made everything as easy as possible for the patients. Cayla went above and beyond simply answering phones and checking patients in, truly an asset to the office in my opinion. Everyone(staff) listened and truly had the patient’s best needs at heart. Everyone was professional and friendly and then when Dr. Skeens came in for the exam, it was obvious that she is the driving force behind the excellent care given by her team. Dr. Skeens was very compassionate, intelligent, and professional. Dr. Skeens was able to treat the patient in a matter of minutes. Great, I was a patient of Dr. Skeens for 3 years after complications from LASIK surgery in another state. She was always kind and careful to explain every step of treatment. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I've now been under Dr. Skeens' care for my chronic dry eye syndrome for 2+ years and she is the best! From Day 1, she's always carefully explained the why, what and how about my condition and my treatment options. Dr. Skeens also did lens replacement surgery for my wife and gave her the same outstanding time, care, and treatment. You'll not find a better eye specialist in the Charleston, WV area!

Excellent in knowledge, care, professional and kind. Would travel to keep seeing her as my doctor. Superior staff.

She is a wonderful Doctor. So sorry she isn't in this area anymore. My husband loved her and she was so good with him. I've searched for her and found she is too far for us to travel to. I wish her the best!

Very rude and unprofessional in both attitude and attire. Does not introduce self or greet patient. Yells at patients.
