I had back surgery 7-8 years ago but I still highly recommend Dr Hess to family and friends

Have had severe back pain for almost 6 years. Really bad the last year. Have had to take opoids for years to be able to function. I'm not perfect, and can be very irritable at times. This Dr. and I were not able to come to a working relationship. He seemed very aloof and totally uninterested and uncaring about my situation. I was angry and left his office feeling like a non important person in pain. I e-mailed said I was sorry and begged for his help basically and he said no.

I appreciate a dr. who will tell it like it is. In 3 weeks I went from severe pain, through testing and am now recovering from a very successful surgery and now have zero pain.

In 1995 i fell off the top of a semi truck and landed on the fuel tank, fuel cap went into my lower back. For years no one wanted to touch my back, my pain got so bad in 2015 i had to do something. So my doctor sent me to dr hess. He told me he wouldn't fuse my back, but he would put a spinal cord stimulator in it. I had my surgery on march 18th 2016. I can now feel my legs again, I have no pain, haven't taken a pain pill since i ran out after the ones hess gave me after surgery, loving life.

Dr. Hess has absolutely no bed side manner! When you choose a doctor to of any kind expect them to make you feel comfortable and very educated. After my surgery was completed he didn't even talk with my family. My family was very upset that he gave them no update didn't even tell them how the surgery went. I choose Dr Hess after my doctor recommended him. I have very good health insurance and could have went to any doctor but I trusted my other doctor. Please think twice before you choose him.
